Vaser Claw GT Network’s newest superhero series by Lesley Hayles

August 11, 2022

Jumael James was born in a small town called Curepe on September 21st in Trinidad and Tobago. The upcoming actor works a regular 9 to 5, currently as a Merchandising Coordinator. He has always thought of himself as being a model or an actor or both from a young age looking at celebrities in movies and seeing how different characters are portrayed. James was given the opportunity back in 2019 to play a roll in a local short film and soon gravitated towards becoming better at the craft of acting. Since landing the small role, his mom would always be very cheerful in viewing the series and short snippets from any show that he’s in. Unfortunately, at this time James is the only known actor in the family. Growing up, Denzel Washington, as a black male actor, was his main influence as he's been a staple on everyone's tongue to this day. He also admires Viola Davis; James thinks her level of acting is almost unmatched in her versatility and ability to display so many different emotions. Kevin Hart is one of many he would love to work with if given the opportunity. James’ first acting gig was for a short film called Shadow Minds where he played the character David, a supportive boyfriend who helped his girlfriend battle trauma in her life. He was able to land the role through modeling and the silly skits he would post on Tiktok! When he was asked to join the cast of Vaser Claw by Andrew Joseph of GT Network, he jumped on the opportunity. James worked with Joseph before on a short film, Shadow Minds, soon to be released as well as director Ancil Harris and co producer Cassidy Peschier, with whom he’s worked with over the years and have grown quite fond of. Having helped grow his acting skills from a seedling to a now growing flower, James has high hopes for his career and future in the business.

Fans can check out the Vaser Claw lead actor, Jumael James, online at http://gtnetworktv.com/series/vaserclaw.html in the series which premiered on July 20, 2022.

About Jumael James

In 5 years, James would like to at least land one internationally acclaimed show and be recognized like the island nation’s very own Winston Duke who has starred in blockbuster hits like Black Panther and Us. His message would definitely be to believe in yourself, you don't need anyone's approval to become anything in life, be your number one supporter. There's enough information floating all over the internet that can be studied to help in bettering your craft. James gravitates more towards the drama genre because it's the most challenging to him and he loves a challenge. To get into character, he would try his best to memorize his lines so that he can put greater energy into projecting the personality and emotions of the character he’s portraying. The feedback has been great so far, as James can't walk the corridors of work without other employees giving him nicknames such as, "Hollywood", “Celebrity” and even “Tyrese”. The support from family, friends and social media followers has been nothing other than encouraging, encouragement to do better and to do more with the opportunities that has come his way. He is not presently signed to any acting agencies but if given the chance, James would definitely like to be signed with Paradigm, United Talent Agency or William Morris Endeavour, just to name a few. Go big or go home, huh?

From a young age Miggz realized that everyone looks up to artistes, they have power and influence and felt he too is powerful and influential, someone who has always been looked up to. Miggz feels he’s a born star and should be doing something bigger than a regular 9 5 forever and be more powerful and influential. A barber by profession for about 8 years, he also cleans factories part time at nights. Miggz has wanted to be an artiste for as long as he can remember as well as an athlete, but it was more profound for him around 13 or 14 years old. His parents support him fully. His mother still lives in St Thomas and often asks when is he going to “buss”. Miggz works with his father who is always pushing him to go to the studio and asking when is he going to drop his songs. There are many musicians in his family: 2 aunts who sing on church choirs, 1 uncle is a Reggae singer, another uncle who’s a gospel singer and a cousin in the US who is an upcoming artiste.

The moniker “Miggz Meddi” comes from his first name Miguel and because he’s always holding a “steady meddy”, quiet and staying to himself.

“Style Boss” is from his fashion sense, following in his father’s footsteps who is a fashion icon. Miggz also has a clothing line called C-Style

Miggz Meddi - The Style Boss Bio

Miggz Meddi Style Boss, given name Miguel Henry, was born on December 31, 1992 in Kingston, but spent his first 8 years in Trinityville, St Thomas. He migrated to the UK at age 8, for only 8 months at first before returning to Jamaica for 1 year. Miggz then went back to the UK at 10 years old and has been living there ever since. He first attended the Trinityville Basic then Primary schools in Jamaica but back in London he attended the Oakington Manor Primary, Weald Middle School and finally Hatchend High.

Miggz Meddi mainly prefers to do Dancehall, but also tries to mix it up and not try to stay in only 1 box. "Dancehall a our thing but we also try to attract the international market so everyone can relate to it." He tends to drop in a little rap or R&B every now then as well. The transition between Jamaica and the UK was a shock as the music scene is different but gravitated to the Grime genre because it evolved from Dancehall and has now mixed it into his style. It did take a while to understand what style Miggz really wanted to do. It was difficult and took some time to grow into himself. The obstacles he’s faced are mainly due to him not being in Jamaica doing Dancehall, and no one is looking for new Dancehall artistes from the UK so Miggz Meddi has to be putting in the extra work to get a shine in the UK but isn’t letting this stop him from pushing forward. The feedback so far has been good, always positive reviews on his songs along with encouragement for him to keep pushing because his style is different and they love his uniqueness and he gives thanks for that.

His first recording was a collaboration with a fellow RNP artiste, Artaiga, as a feature called “Shampoo”. Miggz Meddi is working with Anthony Haynes from Haynes Records in Jamaica and Major Chip from Allegiance Music Group in the UK, who are his main producers now but has worked with Ras Sherby in the past. He loves working with Haynes and Major Chip because they understand him. He has only collaborated with artistes from his camp, RNP, like Artaiga, R9, Raw Rizzle and Santa. Miggz is working on more singles, keeping things consistent and has a few tracks recorded that need to be finished in order to hopefully drop an EP by the end of 2022. He would love to work with Popcaan not only because he is from St Thomas like himself but also because he helped to bring music to an international level apart from the veterans, as well as Skillibeng and Chronic Law, who are also from St Thomas.

Don’t try to follow the crowd or anyone else, create your own lane.” These are messages Miggz tends to send in his music as well, having mentioned them before on a regular basis.

While growing up in Jamaica, Miggz says his influences were Sizzla Kalonji, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa and Buju Banton. At an older age, it became Vybz Kartel and was fully involved in the Gaza segment of that time but liked Mavado as well. Popcaan was one of his main influences because he’s from St Thomas and feels his style more mimics that of his own with the melodies and sing jay type of flow, along with many others. Musically inspired by the legends, the men who aren’t afraid to be themselves, who stand out and stand for something. "As a musician we have power and influence so anyone who uses those in the right way to influence people in the right way as the conscious ones like Bob Marley, Buju Banton, Sizzla Kalonji, 2Pac and anyone who uses music to teach people in a positive way."

In the next 5 years, Miggz Meddi would like to see himself on a level where his music has hit the international market, creating a new wave with his own style, able to do international collaborations and have a system set where he and his camp can bring in upcoming artistes themselves, giving them the opportunity that he himself never got from the UK to Jamaica. His message to others is to “believe in yourself, don’t try to do what you see is popular, stick to your style, perfect your craft, put in the hard work. Once it’s your time it’s your time, once you put in the work and it’s your time to shine, it’s your time to shine. Nobody can stop it. When you don’t follow the crowd and you do things in your way, you will stand out. You’re unique, when you’re unique as an artiste, everyone will remember you. So, it is important to stay unique to yourself.

Miggz Meddi is not signed to a label but is somewhat managed by Haynes and Chip.

Laza Morgan was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on December 13, 1976. One of several children of the late great Ras Denroy Morgan, and a sibling of Morgan Heritage, Laza grew up in Brooklyn with a strong Jamaican heritage under an authentic Rastafarian upbringing, so much so that a traditional high school did not suit this aspiring artiste. Laza therefore attended a trade school, as “no school” was never going to be an option given by his parents. He excelled in carpentry and even practices it throughout his lifetime.

Being born into a musical family, it was inevitable for Laza to become a superstar. His family held talent shows in New York since he was 8 years old and grew up with a studio in his backyard. However, it was around the age of 12 or 13 that he realized he really wanted to be an artiste. Laza started off rapping, DJ ing, sampling and beat making due to the outside influences of being surrounded by the prominent Hip Hop music scene of New York at the time. Of course, his father is his biggest influence to this day but it is evident in his style and delivery that there’s a melting pot of go to’s for Laza, listing Super Cat, Buju Banton and Capleton, among others. At 13 years old, he even met Super Cat.

The Biography

June 8, 2022

Alongside his brother, Shy-Poo, as a duo called The Dreads, their father took on the role of manager and brought them to Jamaica in 1992 where they performed on Reggae Sunsplash. The following year saw them getting signed to MCA Records and being featured on a Barrington Levy track in 1994. When their sister Miriam joined in, the Dancehall/Hip Hop group LMS was formed, seeing major success while signed to VP Records and working with legendary producers like King Jammy’s, Bobby Digital, Donovan Germain and Phillip "Fatis" Burrell. of Laza Morgan

Since his father‘s passing in March 2022 and after the grieving process, Laza returned to the studio to record new music, hired a new manager, booking agent and PR in Lesley Hayles from Kingston, Jamaica and geared up for the expectation of many shows, tours, appearances, interviews and major deals to come. As an independent artist under his own label, Corner King Music, he plans on releasing three singles and a mixtape. It’s about to be a busy time for Laza and team as he’ll also be launching his custom furniture business, filming company and cannabis brand in Jamaica. Laza, in the spirit of promoting St Thomas and already with a song out featuring Skillibeng since September 2021, would like to work with some of its other native artistes like Popcaan, Rytikal, Chronic Law and any talented upcoming acts. He wants to do some music with Tarrus Riley and Bushman as well. Laza’s main aim now is simply bringing awareness to St. Thomas and bring Brand Jamaica to dominance on a global forefront while giving the masses consistently great music.

In 2010 as a solo act and signed to Elektra Records, a subsidiary under Atlantic Records, hits like “This Girl”, “One By One” and “All She Wants (Gone Tomorrow)” gave Laza more international status but as a Pop artiste by 2013. This garnered a plethora of shows, allowing him to tour the world many times over. He then moved to California where he was introduced to skateboarding, signing major endorsement deals with several companies, motivating him to create his own skateboarding brand and even building a skate park in Port Morant, JamaiItca.would seem as if he had taken a hiatus from music but Laza has been working tirelessly from behind the scenes to build Brand Jamaica in his own way. Plans are in motion to promote the hometown of his parents in the parish of St Thomas as a tourist destination. Laza has never stopped doing music, being originally a foundation Roots Reggae artiste and going back to that, fusing his Dancehall “sing jay” style mixed with Hip Hop lyricism during his re introduction to his fans in 2022.

Many may wonder why the absence and why the return now, however, being born into a musical family with such a rich history, Laza never really stopped doing music. This Morgan son has a huge interest in skateboarding and even built a small community skate park on his family’s property of Heritage Estates in Port Morant, St. Thomas.

Laza has already recorded a hardcore Dancehall track with Skillibeng titled “Time With You”, however, shortly after the single came out, his father had passed away which set promotion for the single back a bit, but both artistes hope to release a video for the track soon. Meanwhile, “Time With You” is available on all platforms. Laza has returned to the studio, recording several singles to be released in September 2022 and an album expected by early 2023. While incorporating his profound Dancehall, Reggae and Hip Hop style into the new music that’s coming, Laza is also going back to his roots, allowing all these elements to create a new sound that is sure to please all types of listeners.

Laza is spending more time in Jamaica as well, in hopes of bringing a greater awareness to the talents of St Thomas and to reintroduce himself to local fans via interviews and appearances. His team has already managed to secure a sponsorship deal by Cooyah Clothing, with similar endorsements in the works. Laza Morgan is being welcomed with open arms and no intention of slowing down any time soon. Stay tuned!

Though born in the US, Laza has spent a surprising amount of time in Jamaica, especially in the east with many of the emerging artists from that end of the island. Popcaan, Chronic Law, Skillibeng, Rytical and others are all protégés of the Morgan family, alongside native stalwarts Tarrus Riley and Bushman, who have also done work with them to promote the talent as well as to develop the forgotten parish and build a healthy morale in its communities. With the pandemic almost in the distance, many plans are underway to restart several projects from Laza and family.

Laza Morgan has been a household name for years, not only because he is the son of the late, great Denroy Morgan nor just as a sibling of Morgan Heritage and one third of LMS, but also due to his immense music catalog and his numerous appearances all over the world as a solo act. Known mostly for his hit singles, “This Girl” and “One By One” featuring Mavado, Laza is making a comeback with new music on the way.

“Fathers Love Too” says TvchPoint & Soun Bwoii

Written by Lesley Hayles June 9, Nigerian2022American producer, TvchPoint, hits us again with an exceptional feel good track, this time promoting great fathers just before the less celebrated Father’s Day. The song, “Fathers Love Too” is a major collaborative effort by himself and a new artiste on the scene, Soun Bwoii, a Jamaican American who fell in love with and is active in Reggae and Dancehall that is infused with the intelligence of differentgenres. Soun Bwoii splits his time between Jamaica & America throughout the year, saying that as long as he is making music that resonates with people and helps them through life situations, he’s good.

TvchPoint discovered Soun Bwoii on Instagram and reached out to the young talent. “Fathers Love Too” was built entirely via WhatsApp communication between the pair. TvchPoint produced the track and can be heard in the intro of the track while Soun Bwoii wrote the lyrics to the song and provided the vocals. The initial idea came from Soun Bwoii, and TvchPoint was very influential in the intended message and impact of the Whysong.atribute

to fathers? Soun Bwoii says, “My father plays a pivotal role in my life. Most fathers abandon their children; however, my father took the time out to make sure he was there for all three of his children and loved us unconditionally. I feel great fathers go unnoticed because of the stereotype and also the mother to father ratio. This tribute was more so for my father but it applies to all the fathers who go above and beyond for their children.”

Follow both TvchPoint and Soun Bwoii on Instagram for the latest on “Fathers Love Too” and other updates on new music and more.

Many are in agreement so far with Johnny Kool playing it on Zip 103 FM in Kingston repeatedly as well as SunJocks Ali Patch, Weedsead, Shotty Shane, Wicked Foot and Krissonic putting it in heavy rotation on Suncity 104.9 FM in Portmore all before Father’s Day on June 19, 2022. At this rate, “Fathers Love Too” will be played long after this date which is exactly what the song was meant to do. “Fathers Love Too” was released on May 31 and distributed by TvchPointMusic/TuneCore. It is available on all digital and streaming platforms worldwide. Soun Bwoii is also featured on a Mr Lexx track called “WhatsApp Number” with an official video on YouTube while “Fathers Love Too” has an emotionally captivating visualizer that’s gaining some traction on the platform as well.

TvchPoint, a father himself, “hopes this song encourages fathers that didn’t have an example growing up. We figure it out as we go… trying our best.” Though an ode to fathers, TvchPoint says the song is timeless because every day is a father’s birthday, and every father should be celebrated.
