ABOUT: Zazzi Flames Wednesday, August 25, 2021 By LESLEY HAYLES
Zazzi Flames was born Nugent Whyte in Kingston, Jamaica some 36 years ago. He attended the Maxfield Park Primary and Norman Manley High Schools before moving to Saint Elizabeth where he works professionally as an Electrical Welder. His brothers and friends gave him the name “Zazzi” but recently added “Flames” on the advice of his team due to the fact that so many other artists have that name.
The Dancehall/Reggae Artiste realized he wanted to do music since age 9 and has been writing songs ever since because it comes so naturally to him. This realization is what initially drove Zazzi to do music but didn’t pursue it until he was 19, with the continued support of his parents, even though no other musician is in his family.
Musically, Zazzi states that his inspiration comes from everyone who does it with passion, with his influences growing up being Sizzla Kalonji, Bounty Killer and Buju Banton. He’d like to work with anyone who has the same level of passion for music as he does.
So far, Zazzi has only worked with Frassout Records, releasing his first record, “Stinking Rich”, around 4 years ago and several singles afterwards. He then dropped his first EP, “Living Out Your Dream”, in 2019. 2021 sees the completion of his second EP, titled “Star Quality”, which is poised for release any day now and includes 5 tracks. The entire album is produced by Frassout Records and will be distributed via Hapilos. The first single is called “Star Life”.
The third EP is already in the works. Even though he isn’t officially signed or managed by anyone yet, Zazzi says he likes working with Frassout Records.
Within the next 5 years, Zazzi sees himself touring the world and hopes to have accomplished as much as he can musically by then. Through his music, he would like to share positive and intelligent messages to fans and other upcoming artists like himself.

Dancer Coote Boss making strides with Rifle Walk Friday, August 13, 2021 By LESLEY HAYLES Rockfort native, Coote Boss, attended a memorial in his community on November 25, 2020 when the Skillibeng hit song, “Bad Everyday”, started playing. Coote Boss began vibing to it which then bore the dance move now known as the Rifle Walk.
The dancer premiered it at a party in Portmore on April 30, 2021 and posted a video on Instagram of himself dancing to another Skillibeng hit, “Top Ranking”. The response was overwhelming. The streets have been responding to the Rifle Walk dance move tremendously, as everyone, young and old have gravitated to it quickly because it is so simple to do. Pata Skeng, Energy, Boysie Roses, Marvin The Beast, Aji and other dancers too many to be named are endorsing the Rifle Walk. Not only locally, but internationally and all over social media, dancers are now incorporating Rifle Walk into their routines. So far, dancers in Japan, Panama, New York and other places are doing Coote Boss’ creation.
Artists are also in full support, with Xyclone one of the main ones using it in the promotion of his latest hit single, “Spaceship” featuring Ding Dong. Shevdon collaborated with Coote Boss himself on the “Rifle Walk” track and most recently, Elephant Man has endorsed the dance move with a song of the same name. The major breakthrough, however, came via “Yahoo Boyz” by Intence, giving Coote Boss the most recognition in Dancehall.
The overly proud dancer is utterly grateful for the support and sends his gratitude to everyone who is showing him love, giving strength to the masses on his behalf. He is ecstatic to see his creation making great strides by all in Jamaica to the world.

Geminiss : Signed and Distributing Monday, July 5, 2021 By LESLEY HAYLES Jamaican female producer, Geminiss, owner of the Gemini Management Records label, is now signed to YourDamSelf Worldwide/ Sindustry/New Balance Studios recording labels via DJ Sin out of London, England. The link up came about through Sandra Melody when she was voicing on Gemini’s Cash Count Riddim.
The contract is valid for 1 year, where Geminiss is hoping that herself, her brand and her label will reach all major platforms throughout the duration of the contract.
Meanwhile, Geminiss has also added distributing to her repertoire via the newly formed company, Tunesick, where Gemini Management Records has now become an approved distributor for any artist looking to easily get their music uploaded and released worldwide.
Tunesick, based in England, is an ethical music streaming platform that provides transparency for all who sign up. The company is working really hard to gain more recognition using a fairer system for every artist. It is officially a music and video distribution agent.
Geminiss also stated that artists can benefit greater if they distribute their music through her, as they will get more streams and a faster payout for their music from sales. So far, it is going excellently for Geminiss, having many sign-ups already especially since she provides reasonably priced promotion packages.
Presently, Geminiss is also working on the Cash Count Recount Riddim, a follow-up to her June release, the Cash Count Riddim. It is set for release by the latest September 10, 2021. However, Sandra Melody’s song, “Perfect”, was released on August 13, 2021. The EP also features hip-hop artist, Von Barz from California, Sequence Di Boss, Colourredz and many others. Her official website for distributing music and videos became live a www.geminimusic.net in July. She also has a few things working on that she can’t talk about just yet, with many surprises coming from Geminiss and Sindustry but did reveal that the rest of 2021 is looking excellent for Gemini Management Records.
Not wanting to give too much away, Geminiss could only say that a lot of new singles and collaborations with various artists from around the world are coming soon. She also stated that Von Barz will be going on tour next year, performing live in London, North Carolina and Jamaica, with potentially more locations to be added. Jamaicans Create A “VYBE” With A Television Superhero Series

Rhea Rampair from Saint Andrew, Jamaica is a 23-year-old student of UWI-Mona Campus, pursuing a degree in Digital Media Production. She is also a Dancer and Cosplayer who has worked with Trinidadian Director, Ancil Harris, on a few features in cosplay before for his GT Network shows Cosplayers Connected and Life As A Cosplayer.
In 2020, Ancil had contacted Rhea regarding his Caribbean superhero universe he was working on, wanting her to be a part of it as he builds as much representation from all islands as much as possible. Rhea told him about a character and story she created a couple of years ago and Ancil loved the idea. Now, they have a show in works titled “Vybe”.
Rhea, who drew the initial design, created Vybe. However, based on her previous sketches, she had the latest version commissioned by Shania Waul. Rhea wrote the story line with assistance from Frank O’Neill and Robert Davis, both having experience in the local and international film industry. Vybe is being co-directed by herself, Frank and Robert. The all-Jamaican cast and staff has created the first Jamaican superhero show. Vybe is a Jamaican show made by Jamaicans showcasing the country’s talent in graphic design and digital media production, also a first for the island nation.
When asked what the synopsis of the show is, Rhea replied, “The story follows 20-year-old Electronics student Aiesha Palmer as she learns to control and develop her powers of energy manipulation. For many years she has turned to music in hopes of regulating her emotional state and suppressing her abilities but she may soon have to change that approach as her true origins have come to threaten her and her loved one’s safety.”
The script for the first episode is complete. Rhea knows how she'd like the season to end though and should have enough of the story to cover more than one season. Tentatively, the series is expected to be ready for launch by late November or early December 2021, with GT Network the only station on board to air Vybe so far. Once production is further ahead, however, the team plans on reaching out to more stations while continuing to collaborate with Ancil for a broader viewership from other Caribbean islands.
What does Rhea hope to accomplish with Vybe after its launch? “I'd hope that this show inspires local creators to produce more content and shows of their own. To prove that it can be done and done well through local talent and collaboration.”

PARONYDE SPEEDS TO SUCCESS WITH HIS “YENG
YENG”

The wait is over! Paronyde drops his highly anticipated social media hit track, “Yeng Yeng/110” from the Styling Gel Riddim.
Produced by Supahype in collaboration with Ram-Jam Productions out of Italy, the rhythm compilation was released on Friday, August 6, 2021 on Jamaica’s Independence Day. Paronyde has been living on cloud nine since then, ecstatic to finally have an official song out on all major media platforms.
The Jamaica-born Paronyde is based in Florida now and met Supahype there on a visit. Paronyde was interviewed on Saturday, August 14, 2021 by Supahype on Suncity Radio 104.9FM out of Portmore. The artist spoke about “Yeng Yeng/110”, his musical journey and his plans for the future. He also mentioned a music video in the works for the track very soon, which he hopes to shoot in Jamaica.
Paronyde is going full speed ahead with “Yeng Yeng/110” and is grateful to Supahype for giving him the opportunity. The support has been tremendous during the first week of the album’s release and both expect great benefits from this link up.
