CALIFORNIA CLIVE TEACHING US THE MONEY LAW Born Kevin Donaldson, California Clive grew up in Waterford, St Catherine, Jamaica. The original sound system DJ has turned his sights towards producing music that he has been spinning on the turntables. Initially, his musical journey began with him playing disco music to impress girls at a house party when he was just 12 years old.

In 1983, California Clive started working for Sir G's sound called Star Force International, before he moved on to Heat Force Sound in 1986. By early 1988, Squad 1 Sound from St Johns Road, in Spanish Town, Saint Catherine, where the sound clashes and juggling started, hired him to represent their sound system. After migrating in 1991, Raw Deal Sound in Baltimore, Maryland was his new employer and here he began making his name in the US market.

California Clive retired from playing music, from 1998 until 2008 when he joined Wild Out Radio as a radio disc jock before going back to the dance hall arena in 2009 by building his own sound system called the Wild Out Squad. However, in 2012, the decision was made to walk away and leave that sound system to friends and going solo as DJ Cali Clive Di Juggla. Being booked in over 16 Different states in America and 11 different countries around the world put California Clive on the forefront of the sound system business in the United States. He then started working at Real Explosion Radio in 2017 and continues to play solo in the dance hall to this day. The disc jock is also a promoter and keeps parties around the Baltimore Dancehall circuit.

It was always his dream to sing a song or to produce music but soon realized that singing was not his forte. Hence, California Clive stuck to just producing it and released his first production called Gangsta Bounce Riddim in 2017. Since then, he has learned the business, built his own studio and became the proud owner of his own label, Cali Ca$h Records. California Clive made the promise to produce and present only great music to the world. Despite the global pandemic caused in 2020, he managed to create greatness with his latest project, the Money Law Riddim. Next up is Kaibanon, also based in Jamaica, with “G Spot”, the name says it all! The fourth track is “Give Me That” by Roy G, where he asks women to give themselves to him. Gage’s track is fifth on the track-listing and Jelly Bean Riddim is rounded off by the sole female on the album, Ayaana Nash, with her “Drip” track that’s basically telling all the men before her that she’s not easy to get. Getting To Know: Mzs Quanny – The Bio (Updated) Quandasha Huggins, better known by her stage name, Mzs Quanny, is a multitalented singer, songwriter, dancer and entrepreneur. Born in Camden, New Jersey in 1993, Quanny was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by a Kittitian mother and Jamaican father. Her Caribbean parentage garnered her laid-back character and attributed to her work ethic and artistic prowess. With a large family as her biggest supporters, Mzs Quanny is grateful for her close-knit family. Quanny has been involved in the music industry from a young age, performing solos at the tender age of 5 on her school’s choir, with dreams of being on the Showtime At The Apollo stage. As a teenager, she competed in many international talent competitions, finishing in the top 5 each time. At this point, her love for music was unquestionable. After receiving her first microphone from a client at her mother’s hair salon, Mzs Quanny started putting ink to paper and began writing original songs. With each stroke of the pen, she embraced her talent to speak to the world through her lyrics.

Growing up, her motivation was driven by the sounds of legendary artistes Beres Hammond, the late Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, Sanchez, Toni Braxton and much more, due to their diverse styles. Mzs Quanny has managed to build relationships on her own with top recording studios in Philadelphia, such as MilkBoy and Studio Breed, and even becoming affiliated with popular names like Rorey Baker, Clive Hunt, Blake Winters, Boots Green, Xyclone and Top Coote King Shizzle, among countless others. Mzs Quanny recorded her first debut single, “Bruk It Off” in 2016. This song was written during a time where she chose to be more carefree with her lyrics. As a dancer, she wanted to create a song that was suitable for the ladies that love to “bubble and wine”. After her first single, Quanny decided to take her music to the next level with “Badness”, which was released in early 2018. It sent a message to all women to show off, believing that there is nothing sexier than a woman with confidence.

However, Mzs Quanny didn’t stop there. That same year, she wanted to challenge the status quo with her single called “Beast”. Mzs Quanny ejected an Americanisland vibe to the world, expanding her style of music and appealing to a much broader audience, changing the revolution of music, as an artiste. She has opened up for artistes like Wayne Wonder, Spragga Benz, Aidonia, Dexta Daps, Masicka, Tifa and others too many to be named, while gaining radio play, supporters and fans overseas in countries such as Italy, Jamaica and England, to list a few. Mzs Quanny is a real performer and a well-rounded artiste that holds true to her roots and culture.

Quanny entered 2020 with hits “On The Way”, “Time” “Sirens” and “High”, which has caught the attention of Atlanta’s very own Carlos Brown, the man behind rapper Lil Baby. She has hit Reggae Top 100 Charts on iTunes with one of her most current single, “Bruk It Off (Remix)” featuring Xyclone at the #46 spot. Mzs Quanny signed a management deal with Lesley Hayles, a public relations officer, artist manager and booking agent who turned producer, featuring Quanny on her first project, the Ride Me Riddim compilation, with the title track, “Ride Me/Ride It”. Her Album “Don’t Mean To Brag” is set to release in 2021. At the moment, the focus is on her latest track, “Time Is Now”, an empowering song highlighting the need of unification, a stop to racial injustice and other pressing issues so prevalent throughout 2020 especially. Truly, this boss woman is on a mission, not only in the fiery corners of the Reggae culture where her flirtatious lyrics cause women to “dutty wine” for their men but also touching each genre internationally, from Reggae to Dancehall to R&B to Pop. Mzs Quanny has become known for merging her Jamaican rude gyal vibes with the American R&B/Hip-Hop culture, placing her in a rare and unique genre of her own. The multifaceted 27-year-old businesswoman is definitely making an impact in a male-dominated industry – Mzs Quanny is an artist moving in her own lane. Quanny can be defined by her passion and originality, making her one of the most authentic singers of today. She is ready to make her mark on a GRAND scale; it’s time to get on her level! In the media, Mzs Quanny has been featured in the Jamaica Star, Jamaica Observer, McKoys News and Bashment Session Magazine among others, and has had her songs played everywhere including Suncity FM in Jamaica, The Beat FM in Rochester, New York and many more worldwide. INTRODUCING: GEMINISS AND THE GEMINI MANAGEMENT RECORDS LABEL Born Shamaro Mason in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in Portmore, Saint Catherine on June 2, 1988, Geminiss is the proud owner of her own label, Gemini Management Records. After attending May Pen High Prep School from 1994 until moving to St Ann’s Bay High School in 2000 for 2 years, Geminiss traveled back and forth between St Ann and Portmore during this time as she got transferred to Ardenne High School in Kingston.

Geminiss got started in the entertainment business first by doing artiste promotions and event planning, among other things. Her mother, Jennifer Mason, was her main inspiration to get into music. She grew up hearing her uncle, Fabian East, sing and watched him become a gospel artiste. Dancehall and Reggae artiste, Davari, whom she went on to sign later on, inspired Geminiss as well to do what she does now.

“I love music from a tender age. Always going to car clash and sound clash so automatically the music chose me,” says an emphatic Geminiss.

While doing promotions, the young producer learned her trade by watching Davari, Raganna Jones and all the elders in her community while living in Ocho Rios, St Ann. So far, Geminiss has worked with Davari, Natanja from France, Raganna Jones and J-Mafia from Storm Production, Jah Sniper, Ishentikal, D-Nation, Sully Sulfa, Macini, Juliano Vilachi from Miami, Gravel Boss, Milton “Genius Milton” Kanongwah, Ultra Melody, Reggae Release, Zojak Worldwide and Alkyda Music Records.

Geminiss would like the opportunity to produce for popular artistes such as Sizzla Kalonji, Dre Island, Bounty Killa, Vybz Kartel and Govana. Davari is the only artiste signed to the label at the moment, but she hopes that she will be signing more whenever Gemini Management Records becomes a household name. The label’s catalog is somewhat extensive with several releases out already, which includes many tracks from Davari like “Money Machine”, “What You Thinking”, “Got To Make It” and “Cleaner Than Them”; “Jump Around” by Raganna Jones featuring J-Mafia and other tracks on the Gas Dem Riddim, all distributed by Reggae Release and the most recent Gemini Upliftment Riddim with “Upliftment” from Davari, already in heavy rotation on Lady Rennae’s program on Irie FM, “Corona” by Ultra Melody and various artists, distributed by Zojak Worldwide. Currently, Geminiss is working on the promotion of her latest projects, the Multi Meter Riddim, which was released on all major platforms on July 17, 2020. It features artists such as Davari, Alkyda, Star Bouy and Medician, among others. The label also released another riddim juggling on July 30, 2020 with other completed projects out before the end of 2020. A few video shoots have been done for songs “Upliftment” by Davari, “Jump Around” by Raganna Jones and J-Mafia and “She Tired Of It” by Ishentikal, in July. More collaborations with Alkyda Music and Storm Production are also in the works

Withing the next five years, Geminiss believes wholeheartedly that Gemini Management Records will be one of the biggest record labels in Jamaica, working with many top artists from all over the world, making a difference in our youths and always doing good music. Geminiss is imploring with other females in the business to be strong, stand firm and do what inspires you. Despite how rough the music industry is, Geminiss insists that sticking together is what will help them through. “We ladies go through a lot and we can make a lot of difference in the music industry...never let anyone or anything cause us to lose our path. Just stay focused and through our music, we will make the difference.” The Ishentikal track, “She Tired Of It”, has touched the lives of females who have heard it so far. Geminiss hopes to continue to use songs like these with such positive messages to impact females from not just Jamaica, but also from around the world. Geminiss was featured in the Jamaica Star on January 18, 2021 and can be read online here. Malikk Clarke was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Jamaican parents on March 8, 2000 shortly after his mother had migrated from New Haven, Duhaney Park. The US-based artist grew up between the United States and the Kingston 20 area, as he would travel each year, and at times twice per year, to visit his father who lives in an uptown area of Saint Andrew.

Malikk, which means “King” in Arabic, originally went by the stage name Likko at first by shortening his first name up to the age of about 14 before changing it to something more marketable. He chose Lajik, a play on the spelling of the word “logic”, because he was always prone to holding logical conversations with all types of people he encountered throughout his life. The 20 year old upcoming Dancehall Recording Artist attended private school before later attending the Passaic County Technical Institute (PCTI) where he studied carpentry. In 2008, Lajik had the opportunity to play soccer in Birmingham City in the United Kingdom. He also had a short stint at the New York Red Bulls team, playing for the B team. After graduating high school, Lajik decided to go to the Fortis Institute, after turning down a soccer scholarship to a business college, where he graduated and became a certified Electrical System Technician (EST) at the very young age of 19 in 2019. “I never knew I would love music so much because throughout my life, my dream was to become a professional soccer player. Even when I didn’t have time for anything, I would still find my way into the studio or writing music. Sometimes I would even write music before a soccer match,” says Lajik.

Both his parents have always been supportive of his music career but his main influence growing up was his older brother. Lajik would watch him do music from a young age and marvel at his artistry. Since the age of 12, Lajik began pursuing music. He had often gone to different studios and do little rap battles in school. Similarly, whenever Lajik was in Jamaica, he would deejay with friends on the soccer field and recorded his first song then. When he turned 17 years old, Lajik got the chance to meet female Dancehall Artist, Stacious, and ended up going to her studio the very next day to record the single, “Uptown Gyal”. In 2019, Lajik released his first EP called “Never Ease Up” on the 4th of July, which contains seven (7) tracks with songs like “Uptown Gyal” and “Pretty Baby”. It was produced by Cymzik, Lespree Records and Mindkey, and distributed by DistroKid. In May 2020, his brand new song “Weed Ring” came out with “One Bagga Gyal” soon to follow. Both tracks were produced by Blaza Production. “I feel like this song will give my career the push that I need,” explained Lajik when asked about “One Bagga Gyal”. Fans were treated to this song around summer 2020. Currently, Lajik is working on dropping a few more singles with the aim of giving listeners more great quality music and hopefully get the breakthrough to becoming successful. Lajik is always open to working and collaborating with anyone and within the next five years, definitely sees himself in the Dancehall space, feeding people with long-lasting music and making it to the top of every chart. He urges all upcoming artists like himself to be consistent and don’t give up. Always try to perfect your craft and become the best at it. Lajik was featured on the Ride Me Riddim, with “Wine & Bruk Out”, released on November 13, 2020 and can be purchased here. It was produced by his PR, Lesley Hayles, on her Lesley Hayles Music label based in Kingston, Jamaica. For all things Lajik, contact his Public Relations Officer, Lesley Hayles at lesleyodyssey@outlook.com or 1-876-414-2660 on WhatsApp. Follow Lajik on all his social media pages and support him by purchasing his music online.

[Kingston, Jamaica – February 8, 2021] Long time Public Relations Officer and Entertainment Manager in the Jamaican Dancehall world, Lesley Hayles (also known as “Lesley Odyssey” in music and social media circles), has added to her repertoire by embarking on a production journey.

The daughter of Stephen “Fada Bunny” Hayles, founder of Bass Odyssey sound system, was born into a musically-inclined family, inclusive of disc jockeys, singers and producers. Hence, it was inevitable that Lesley herself carry on in the family trade. However, being so shy she stayed in the shadows, behind-the-scenes and stuck with the business side of the music and entertainment industry...until now. After working with many artistes through the course of over 15 years, the Kingston-based entertainment mogul was finally bitten by the producing bug when it was suggested by longtime friend, Anthony Haynes. He gave Lesley her first set of instrumentals in 2018, beats all created by him under his Haynes Records label. Her first production, “Ride Me Riddim”, is a rhythm compilation that features six of her artistes out of more than a dozen submissions. The remaining tracks will be on the second (and quite possibly a third) part of the release, at a later date yet to be decided. Comprising of half established acts and half upcoming acts, Ride Me Riddim consists of tracks from marketing genius Ganggoolie, and Lesley’s oldest sister, Ava “Sandy Star” Hayles known for her 90s hit “Don’t Wanna Lose Your Love (You Boy)” on the Taxi Riddim remake by their uncle, Dennis “Dennis Star” Hayles. The title track, “Ride Me” was written by Lesley herself and recorded by Philadelphiabased Dancehall/R&B singer, Mzs Quanny. Ride Me Riddim also features Lajik from New Jersey, Star Stain from Montego Bay and 1Leedah from Portmore, via May Pen. All tracks were mixed and mastered by younger brother, Stephen “DJ Ali Patch” Hayles from Mixplosion Sound System, with artworks done by another younger brother, Shomani “DJ Kitt” Hayles from Coppershot Sound System, for his NAAS Artworks graphics design company. Videos are expected to be done for most of the tracks and out on YouTube in 2021. Lesley’s nephew, Rashaad “Karrat” Hayles edited the official music video for his mother’s, Sandy Star, track called “Just One”, which she directed within the confines of her bedroom in New York. It was produced by his Karrat Gold Production (121 KGP) visuals company and posted on his YouTube channel officially on November 11th, 2020. The album was released on November 13th, 2020, Lesley’s 40th birthday, as a gift for the usually conservative woman and is being distributed by United Masters.

Prospec Implores Women To “Cut Your Losses” Sean Davis, professionally known as Prospec, is a Jamaican-born New York-based Dancehall artiste who has been on the music scene for over 25 years .

Hailing from Greenwich Town, Kingston and growing up in Waterford, Portmore, before migrating to the US in 1990, Prospec grew up watching the likes of Dancehall greats, Ninja Man and Bounty Killa, which inspired him to do Dancehall music, from the tender age of 6. Officially, the Dancehall deejay first started recording professionally in New York in 1995, with a song titled "Lena" on the Sanford n Son Riddim by the legendary Sly & Robbie. However, the song was never released but Prospec remembers it was an amazing feeling and knowing the song was a potential hit. Still in possession of the masters to this day, Prospec might release it, eventually, just not sure when. His first official release, “Mama Cry” came in 2018, with distribution by 21st Hapilos. Despite the 2020 pandemic, Prospec has managed to be consistent, releasing a slew of records while working on a 15-track album, “Still Nah Laugh”. His “Money & Zum Zum” from the Money Law Riddim compilation has outsold its counterparts on Spotify, alongside “Nuh Dis Nuh Man”, both produced by Cali Cash Records. The deejay’s latest endeavour has conjured up the compelling “Cut Your Losses”. Produced by Yawd One Records from New York and written by Prospec, “Cut Your Losses” is a women’s empowerment track speaking on the problems women of today’s society are currently facing in their personal relationships with their male partners. “Cut Your Losses” is about uplifting women. “I was seeing what women was going through with relationships and some not having the strength to walk away, even when it was toxic. That was my inspiration for writing this song.” explained Prospec.

Released in June 2020, on the Sun & Ice Riddim, Prospec’s track is a huge standout on the compilation, receiving rave reviews within the US and Jamaica already. The feedback has been incredible so far. “Especially from females. The females love it!” exclaimed an excited Prospec

Several radio stations and sound system disc jockeys have already placed the song in heavy rotation, locally and internationally. So far, ZJ Bruce Lee from Zip 103FM in Kingston, Jamaica has “...bussed the tune in the island and a few radio stations in New York a run with it too,” Prospec stated, as well as on SunCity FM in Portmore, Jamaica. It has also been in heavy rotation on Yawd One Radio in New York and Yung N Fresh Radio in Miami. “Cut Your Losses” even found its way onto a few mixtapes, including those made by DJ Kenny and DJ Don Kingston. Prospec returned to New York from Miami after shooting the music video for “Cut Your Losses”, which was released in October and can be viewed here. A remix was done in November as well featuring Macka Diamond and Thurteen13. The official audio dropped on YouTube on December 2, 2020 to much fanfare. The video will be shot in New York, the first ever music video Prospec is getting done in his home state. Prospec was featured in the Jamaica Observer on January 22, 2020 and can be read here. RAS DEMO ENJOYS VIBES LIKE THIS

Ras Demo, the Demolition Man, is a UK-based Dancehall Reggae Artist, “here to demolish evil things” with his music, one track at a time. “Vibes Like This” is one such track, the latest in his artillery of lyrical weapons against the evils in this world. Produced by his label, Inna Mi Yard Productions, in coalition with his management label, Third Eye Records, it was recorded in his London studio and released on April 10, 2020. In the midst of the Corona Virus pandemic, Ras Demo reminisced of his time in The Gambia in December 2016.

The vibes was different and could not be compared to any other experience. Ras Demo then configured his thoughts of his trip, put pen to paper and produced “Vibes Like This” upon his return to England. Infusing Dancehall with Afro beats, Ras Demo expresses in detail his need for the beats, the events he attended and the women he met while in the motherland, and needing to share all of that with the world. The track is a dancing song which also incorporated African voices in the background, giving “Vibes Like This” another vibe!

Available on all digital media outlets, “Vibes Like This” is being distributed worldwide by VPAL Music and can be downloaded or streamed everywhere. An animated video for the track is in the making and will be released in May but in the meantime, the YouTube official audio visual is uploaded to his YouTube channel and on all his social media pages. Since the release of “Vibes Like This”, Ras Demo has recorded a collaboration with Chronic Law and has plans for a track with Gage as well. Both will be released in 2021, along with music videos for both. He intends on recording for Lesley Hayles Music on some of her productions as well. Ras Demo also has several rhythm compilations in the works and a few singles to drop before the end of 2021. In the meantime, Ras Demo encourages his listeners to stay safe by staying home in these times and listen to “Vibes Like This” to keep levelheaded during the pandemic. Varian Crossfield is a Jamaican Dancehall recording artiste, who was born on August 13 and goes by the stage name Varian Di-Best. Hailing from the Spanish Town area of St. Catherine, Varian spent his earlier years in the ghettos of Spoilers, August Town and Duhaney Park, before settling in Spanish Town. Even though he currently resides in New York City for the past 9 years, the US-based artiste still calls Spanish Town his home and frequently visits whenever he can each year.

VARIAN DI-BEST: THE NEXT BADDEST DANCEHALL ARTISTE!

The former student of the Calabar High School is very determined in making a name for himself on the local and international Dancehall and Reggae scenes. With his numerous singles out already on his VEVO channel and all major streaming platforms, Varian hopes to make that a reality in the very near future. His family is very supportive of his music career, especially from his father, professionally known as Red Danger, a former artiste himself. Varian got his start when he first saw his father doing music and aspired to do the same. Just recently taking his career more seriously, he genuinely gets his inspiration from his organic love of music. His musical influences are all artistes who make good music, no matter the genre, and jokingly admits that he is a "fan and A/C" of every artiste. So far, the upcoming artiste has not done any tours but has performed on several shows across Jamaica and New York. In May 2020, one of his latest singles, "One For Me", has the potential to cross over globally, which he therefore expects to pull big numbers in sales, Varian states. A video to accompany the track was also released in July 2020 and can be found on his YouTube channel. He has recorded for Lesley Hayles Music as well, a track called “Good Good”, which is to be released on an undetermined date in 2021, with much more in the works. Varian aims to make good music for all. He believes wholeheartedly that Varian Di-Best is the next “baddest” Dancehall Artiste out of Jamaica.
