WEITZENHOFFER FAMILY COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS Mary Margaret Holt, M.F.A., Dean The College of Fine Arts, established as a School of Fine Arts in 1903 and given college status in 1924, is composed of the schools of Visual Arts, Music, Peggy Dow Helmerich School of Drama, Dance, and the A. Max Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre. It was the fourth college of the current 16 colleges to be established in the young university. Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Art, Drama, Dance, Musical Theatre and Visual Communication are offered, as well as the Bachelor of Music, the Bachelor of Musical Arts, the Bachelor of Music Education, the Bachelor of Arts degrees in Art and in Music and the Bachelor of Arts in Art History. Through the Graduate College, students may pursue the Master of Arts (Drama), Master of Fine Arts in Art, Dance, Master of Arts (Art History, Art and Technology, Drama), Master of Music or Music Education, Doctor of Musical Arts or Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education and in Art History. Students who are graduating from Visual Arts, Dance, Drama or Musical Theatre may be recognized by their brown tassels and those graduating in Music, by their pink tassels.
