COLLEGE OF DENTISTRY Paul M. Mullasseril, D.D.S., M.S. The College of Dentistry admitted its first class of dental hygiene students in 1971 and its first class of dental students in 1972. The students in both programs attend classes and treat patients in the College of Dentistry building, which was completed and first occupied in 1976. The dental and dental hygiene programs are fully accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation, and the College holds membership in the American Dental Education Association. Graduates of the bachelor program in dental hygiene can be identified by lilac tassels on their caps while the doctoral program can be identified by their lilac hoods and gold bullion tassels. Students are expected to receive their degrees Sunday, May 15, 2022, subject to faculty approval.
