Bundaberg bounces back
A ship enters the Port of Bundaberg. A positive way and a way in which every Bundaberg resident can assist our local economy is to embrace a “shop locally” policy. The past 12 months has seen the Bundaberg region enjoy a buoyant revival with numerous new businesses opening their doors and the promise of many more to come. The area adjacent to Sugarland Shoppingtown at Johanna Boulevard is certainly a local hot spot with several new franchise businesses establishing a presence in the region. Harvey Norman has also undergone a major refurbishment which clearly demonstrates a solid investor confidence in our region. And why wouldn’t business be confident? In the new year a number of projects will come to fruition with the $70 million Knauf Plasterboard factory at the Port heading an impressive list of development projects. Bundaberg Rum is also investing in the region with $7.5 million being spent in enhancing its visitor information centre including an interactive tour and alfresco dining area. The commitment of $19 million by the State Government to construct a new gas pipeline to the Port of Bundaberg will open up the availability of energy options that is expected to drive further development at the port with a range of businesses and industries that have a integral relationship with the Knauf factory.

Who was born in Bundy? As well as “Australia’s Queen Of Song” Gladys Moncrieff after whom the Entertainment Centre is named, Molly de Gunst was born in Bundaberg in 1905, travelled to England in 1935 and became a world renowned soprano. Tenor, Donald Smith who joined the Australian Opera in 1958 received acclaim in the world’s great opera houses before going on to become one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century. All good sports – born February 17 1916, died 1984, Don Tallon was considered by many the best wicket keeper of the 20th century with the Tallon Bridge over the Burnett River named for his family. He represented Queensland Country against Douglas Jardine’s team in the infamous Bodyline Tour and played alongside Don Bradman as one of The Invincibles in 1948. Don was alert, agile and sure-handed with his stumpings subtle, almost surgical, seldom involving the removal of more than one bail. His wife Lynda lives in North Bundaberg; daughter Catherine is a solicitor and Jane, a professional cellist and music teacher. Rugby League legend, Mal Meninga was born in Bundy, July 8 1960. After attending schools in Monto and Maroochydore he returned briefly aged 11, to Walkervale School. Mal helped Queensland to win the first ever State Of Origin against New South Wales in 1980 by kicking seven goals from seven attempts. Olympic swimmer Rosemary Lassig (now Lluka) born here on August 10, 1941, won a Silver Medal in the 4 x 100m medley relay at the Rome Games in 1960. Team-mates were Dawn Fraser, Jan Andrew, Marilyn Wilson and Rosemary also competed in the 200m breast stroke where she was eliminated in the heats.
Bert Hinkler, aviator extraordinaire was born on December 8, 1892 and put his hometown of Bundaberg on the map in 1928 as the first to fly solo from England to Australia. Bert is honoured at the Botanic Gardens at the Hinkler House Memorial Museum with the Hinkler Hall Of Aviation a must-see for visitors.

GREAT NEWS !!!!! I just figured it out... I am a Seenager. (Senior teenager). I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 60 odd years later. I don't have to go to school or work. I get an allowance (pensions). I have my own pad. I don't have a curfew. I have a driver's licence (so far) and my own car. I have ID that gets me into bars and the Bottle Shop. The people I hang around with are not scared of getting pregnant and I don't have acne.

Hatchling time – take care around turtles Turtle hatchlings begin to appear at Mon Repos Beach from January through to March so take care around these babies to ensure their chance of survival. As there is no parental care by female turtles, from the time a hatchling pokes its nose out of its sandy nest the odds are against it. Follow these environmental practices if you’re around hatchlings • stay well clear, at least two metres of nests where they are emerging • keep dogs leashed and away from hatchlings • limit use of light, never shine lights directly onto them as they may become confused by artificial light and not make it to the ocean. • use low wattage torches (less than three-volt two cell) with red cellophane or a filter over bulb • limit use of flash photography • allow hatchlings to dig themselves out of the nest and run to the sea without disturbance or assistance.

THE NEW FRIENDLIES MEDICAL SUITES
Bundaberg’s $8 million medical suites completed
The Medical Suites were built by Bundaberg builder Jeff Lennox who is committed to ensuring the longevity of carpenters and concretors within the building industry and has seen more than 50 complete their apprenticeships.
The new Friendlies Medical Suites will provide a vital investment into health services in the Bundaberg region; attracting and helping to retain specialist doctors, with up to 30 medical suites and 89 ground-level car parking spaces. CEO Alan Cooper said the Friendly Society Private Hospital now has an attractive investment to sell to current and potential specialists. “We are committed to provide a leading regional facility with state-of-the-art services and to do that we need the support of CEO Alan Cooper leading specialists,” he said. “These suites are another reason to base themselves in Bundaberg, utilise the hospital’s expanding facilities and provide quality services to people in the region.” “We’ve had interest from a range of different medical professionals which will further enhance health care options available locally.” The Friendly Society Private Hospital is now selling the suites, with 50% sold or retained for hospital use, and will hand over the building to a body corporate.

THE NEW FRIENDLIES MEDICAL SUITES Cardiology services in Bundaberg celebrated Bundaberg Cardiology, with expanding and improving services, works closely with the Friendlies so more patients receive treatment close to home. Last November the Cath Lab (the only one between Townsville and the Sunshine Coast) celebrated its third birthday, marking more than 2500 cases in those three years including about 50 stent procedures. The Cardiac Investigations Unit plus the Diagnostic Services have received new machines, allowing more patients to receive stents, rather than travelling to Brisbane. Dr Andre Conradie said the future would be in expanding the public private partnership, allowing all people in the Bundaberg region the same access to essential cardiology services. “We want to get the Cath Lab working at full capacity and expanding acute services for management of people with heart attack.”
Dr Hermann Wittmer said the celebratory Cardiac Dinner and Information Evening was a chance for people to understand the meaning and value of the cardiology services and celebrate milestones already achieved.

BURNETT HEADS Take a drive to Burnett Heads
Burnett Heads to Oaks Beach – on the right path Coral Coast Pathways take you all the way from Burnett Heads to Kellys Beach, promoting a healthy lifestyle whether walking or cycling. Burnett Heads has a long seagoing heritage with a multi-lane boat ramp and no delays in taking to the water. Burnett Heads Lighthouse was originally built in 1873, retired in 1971 and relocated in one piece for preservation to Lighthouse Park. The new Lighthouse is one of two Australian Cospas Sarsat satellite ground receiver stations. Burnett Heritage Trail – winds from Oaks Beach via the former Pilot Station Reserve, taking in both the original South Head Lighthouse and the new taller automatic Lighthouse. Oaks Beach situated south of Burnett Heads is 50m long and great for fishing, swimming, rock walking and snorkelling. You can even spot turtles here during the season from November to March. Oaks Beach to Neilson Park – known as The Turtle Trail, providing walkers and cyclists with a shared pathway to enjoy and experience the region’s natural diversity. Native wildlife may be encountered on this pathway.
Burnett Heads/Port of Bundaberg is the “Gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef” – a relaxed coastal village located not far from Mon Repos Conservation Park and 17kms from the centre of Bundaberg. Burnett Heads has a variety of caravan parks, marinas, a club, hotel, and mixed with waterfront dining and boutique shopping outlets. Burnett Heads’ great natural experiences include: • Turtle Trail Walk – enjoy this coastal stroll with great views of the coastline between Burnett Heads and Bargara. • Oaks Beach – safe swimming with weekend patrols over summer • Sharkies Beach – between north end of Mon Repos and Oaks Beach, secluded and enjoyed by locals for a leisurely stroll, swim, or snorkel. • Butchers Rocks – see basalt rock formations left behind after the volcanic Hummock eruption. Lava bubbles have left behind rock pools with soft corals and plenty of sea creatures; wet a line or snorkel in the right conditions. • Boat Harbour Sea Wall – land based fishing spot • Wallace Creek – great for kayaking, crabbing, fishing. At low tide nearby Duchess Rocks has a display of soft coral and it’s here where remnants of an ancient lava flow can be viewed. Snorkel or fish off the rock wall and then check out the marina to see how the yachties live.
South Head Parklands & Playground
BURNETT HEADS SHOPPING COMPLEX
Located on the waterfront at Burnett Heads, this beautiful park offers plenty of space to run and play. For the kids there’s a large climbing frame plus a smaller playground. You can sit back and enjoy the view of the pristine blue water while watching a kids play in the great outdoors. There’s also a skate park in the area and South Head Parklands is the venue for the annual Lighthouse Festival held on the last weekend each October.

BARGARA
Australia Day BBQ Breakfast
Bargara – the early days
When you take your stroll along the boardwalk from The Basin to Nielson Park, take a look at the noticeboard at the entrance to the park, depicting the history of the Railway Picnic from the 1920s and other significant Bargara events. Photographs include famous aviator Bert Hinkler, visiting Bargara School children after his historic flight in 1928 (see if you can pick him out); the Roller-Skating Rink (1954) Siren Of The Surf beauties (1950s) Neilson Park Bathing Huts and much more. Prior to 1921 Bargara was known as Sandhills with the School opening in 1893, later renamed Bargara State School. The name Bargara is derived from two adjacent localities, Barolin and Woongarra.
Attention all early morning walkers along the foreshore – stop a while on the foreshore just opposite Bradlee’s for a sizzling brekkie to give you some energy to continue on your way. It fires up from 6am through to 9am and all are welcome. Organised by Bargara Progress Association with Council support, it’s the community’s opportunity to celebrate being an Aussie, particularly in beautiful Bargara Beach.

South State School celebrating 125 years
✓
Central School on Heritage List Bundaberg Central State School’s original buildings in Crofton Street were finished in 1890 by renowned school architects the Fergusons.
An Open Day Celebration on May 21 will include a roll call, cake cutting ceremony, memorabilia display, stalls and burying a time capsule. Dinner that night is at the RSL Club. Bundaberg South-East School opened in May 1891, renamed three years later. An anniversary booklet, incorporating the previous Centenary book, along with history from the past 125 years will be available to buy. To contact the sub-committee who are seeking sponsorship, contact 125th@bundsoutss.eq.edu.au or check out www. bundsoutss.eq.edu.au and Facebook.
George Seymour from Queensland Heritage Council said Central is a highly intact example of a superior Ferguson school design, originally composed of three blocks arranged in a U-shape, large classrooms and wide verandahs. “Central has high quality decorative features – timberwork, cast iron balustrades, tall ventilation spire, raked ceilings and exposed roof trusses. The school forestry plot planted in the mid 50s is evidence of a popular educational program that began in the 1920s, reaching a peak in the 50s.”

REDTRAIL - Operated by Richard, Craig, Joe and Coral Zunker
1932 - it all began with Arthur
Patriarch of the Zunker cane farming clan, Arthur who died in 2014 at the age of 102, bought 50 acres of land in the middle of the 1932 drought. He cut cane by hand and realising mechanisation was the way of the future, acquired a harvester from manufacturers Toft Brothers of Bundaberg. Arthur’s original farm has expanded into Redtrail Pty Ltd, under the operation of his grandsons Richard and Craig and their parents Joe and Coral Zunker. Redtrail consists of seven farms in total (three in the Qunaba area) with the “home farm” on Burnett Heads Road, worked by Joe and Richard while Craig is in charge of another farm at Bucca with peanuts on rotation, dams and cattle.
The Zunkers are busy working on their farms and their harvesting business.
Five generations of cane farmers
Coral who handles the administration and accounting side of the business, along with her two daughters-in-law Julie and Kaylene, attributes the Zunkers’ successful longevity to being organised and prepared to work long hours. “every daylight hour seven days a week,” she said. “Joe is also excellent with time management and judging watering times and needs – he’s like Pop (Arthur) and will go on working in the cane fields till he’s 100.
And will there be a sixth? There’s always the possibility that Craig’s sons Jayden and Daniel may continue on the tradition begun when Arthur Zunker’s grandfather Augustus, a Prussian immigrant arrived at Maryborough in 1872, settling in Yandarie then Bundaberg in 1896. Just before his 99th birthday, Arthur told Coastline that although he left school at 13 to cut cane, his relationship with red soil began much earlier when his father Joseph expected him to chip cane rows before and after class. During his final years Arthur lived at Bargara, going to the then Bowls Club (now Sandhills Sports Club) every Friday night and relying on the old “cane farmer’s field favourite” (cold tea with heaps of sugar).

REDTRAIL - Operated by Richard, Craig, Joe and Coral Zunker
Zunker dynasty in Hall Of Fame
All about Queensland Sugar We see it growing all around us but do we know much about it? It’s produced from the juice of a tropical grass called sugar cane (saccharum officinarum). From this comes one of Australia's largest export crops - raw sugar. The majority of Queensland's sugar cane farms stretch along a coastal strip from Mossman in north Queensland to Beenleigh, south of Brisbane. Around 38 million tonnes of sugar cane is crushed annually producing 5.3 million tonnes of raw sugar (enough to fill more than 1,000 Olympic swimming pools). Queensland produces 95 percent of all Australian raw sugar. Raw sugar is Australia's second largest export crop, earning around $1.2 billion in export sales each year. This major industry is directly and indirectly responsible for the employment of many thousands of Queenslanders. In addition to its contribution to Queensland's economic growth, the sugar industry has been responsible for the development of many of the State's coastal cities. From its humble beginnings, Queensland's raw sugar industry has grown into one of the world's most efficient and highly organised sugar industries.
Earlier in 2015 Redtrail Pty Ltd, (the multi-generational sugar cane farming and contracting operation of Richard and Craig Zunker with their parents Joe and Coral) was the first inductee in the Bundaberg Sugar Industry’s Hall Of Fame. It is acknowledgement of “consistent and sustained achievement in productivity at the highest level” and the grower must have won the District Champion Award for three consecutive years. This criteria was a piece of sugary cake for Redtrail, with their enviable track record of winning the annual Productivity Awards District Champion 11 times, including seven years in a row.
Harvesting time again next June Sugar cane harvesting will be in full swing again from the end of June through to October/November, with planting already taken place last September during the crush.
Ratoon crops
Joe told Blues Country Magazine that peanuts grown on the Bucca property are better for the soil than soybeans, planting between 100 and 150 acres a year. He also mentioned the Bundaberg Rum Distillery residue, a strong-smelling thin molasses-type substance known as “dunder”. At times likened to liquid filter press – a by-product of the refining process coming out as “mill mud” and once dried, returned to the fields as potent nutrients including ample potassium for ratoon crops. “There are additional costs in using dunder, especially haulage, yet it has replaced a previous method of applying granular fertilizer on the surface followed by irrigation,” added Richard. “There is a saving of an entire irrigation cycle.”

More dogs are having a holiday A day out, a weekend away, the trip of a lifetime –it seems that pet owners are increasingly taking their four legged friends with them wherever they go. There was a time when taking dogs on holidays required months of research to find a welcoming and safe place. Now more accommodation owners think about pets’ needs as well, so it’s never been easier.
Tips for travelling with pets
• check the place is securely fenced or allows pets to be inside • find a vet in the area so there’s no last minute panic if you need one; also pet-friendly cafes etc. • have your dog’s vaccinations up to date and treatments for anything unexpected like ticks. • check his tags are secure and that they carry a reachable phone number (some mobiles may be out of range when you’re away) • discuss your dog’s special needs with your vet before you go • be aware of road rules about pets in vehicles as they can vary from state to state. Ensure your dog is secured away from the driver. • take his familiar toys and bedding else– bowls, usual food, litter bags, special treats, basic first aid, leashes. • remember National Parks don’t allow pets (even in the car).
Stay safe in storms and cyclones
What type of massage do I want? There are several forms of massage on offer and it may be that you need to try several to find what works best for you. Here is a brief summary: Chinese Massage – closely related to Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture and Acupressure. Chinese Massage treatment creates movement and is therefore seen as a treatment for pain relief. Connective Tissue Massage –does not involve the use of oil or lotion. It can relieve chronic tension, improve posture and relieve painful symptoms of chronic diseases such as Arthritis, Tendonitis, TMJ and Sciatica. Hot Stone Massage – therapist places heated basalt stones on the body’s acupressure points. A series of Swedish style techniques is used holding smooth stones and applying essential oils to work away muscle tension. Deep Tissue Massage – focuses on deeper layers of muscle tissue, designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres. Remedial Massage – works to heat muscles and tendons that are damaged, impaired or knotted. It traces the discomfort back to the original cause. Shiatsu – an intense form of whereby the therapist uses thumbs, elbows, forearms, feet and knees to apply pressure on the body. Swedish– a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, vibration and shaking motions that apply pressure between muscles and bones, rubbing in the same direction as the flow of blood. Thai –Allied with yoga stretching movements, this helps to adjust the skeletal structure, increase flexibility, relieve muscular tension, stimulate internal organs and balance your energy system. Find out more www. And not forgetting….the Coffee naturaltherapypages.com.au Massage.
Powerful and unpredictable – we’ve become accustomed to their happening every storm season but it’s so vital to be prepared. • tidy up unsecure objects around the yard • trim loose branches and call a professional if near powerlines • have extra cash on hand – banks and ATMs may be closed • free water for alternative refrigeration during power cuts • check your pet’s registration tags are current • stock up on all their needs – food, medicine, toilet needs • install a surge protector to protect sensitive electronic equipment • choose a safe place to move to in a storm surge or flood threat
What do when the power goes off
• if the lights flicker or go dull, turn off and unplug sensitive appliances like TV, DVD, computer at powerpoint and call 13 22 96. • check to see if it’s only your place, or your neighbours are in darkness also. • if you suspect anything has caused the problem, call 13 22 96 – listen to the radio or call that number for updates.
During the storm
• stay inside and away from windows and doors • listen to a battery operated radio for weather updates and don’t go outside until you know it’s safe • use a torch to find your way around • don’t use a landline phone – use a mobile but only in emergencies.

BRIDES OF BUNDABERG
Everyone loves a bride
You are the Groom – “Man of the moment”
It’s your wedding day and you need to take her breath away. Go on, reveal yourself as a real romantic, wear your heart on your sleeve for all to see. (you’ll be glad you did). Surprise surprise! More could be expected from you than just turning up in a tux on the day. You’ll probably have a best mate in mind as “best man” so confirm his willingness to fulfil this role and don’t let him get too drunk on the Stag Night. If it’s a traditional wedding you’ll have to make a speech and do the “bridal waltz”. Sorry, but it still happens. After you’ve danced with your new wife you may be expected to dance with your mother and mother-in-law or even some bridesmaids. (dance lessons are available for grooms with two left feet). Yes it happens and not just on the movie “Four Weddings and a Funeral”- triple check your best man has the rings safely tucked away and knows where to find them! And try to look nice. Get your hair styled and cut, your nails manicured (no polish needed); if renting outfits make sure all the men pick up the suits and accessories the day before. If you’re going to dress somewhere other than home, pack everything – underwear, deodorant, hair and shaving stuff, watch…..then double check it all again. (shave carefully to avoid nicks). Ask your Mum if she’s handy, to check your buttonhole and have a tissue handy in case she cries. (she will). Then you’re ready to go get hitched.
It’s here…..your wedding day and he’s going to think you look gorgeous. He already does, otherwise why would he be here? Dressed in your choice of gown you’ll walk towards a man who holds the key to your heart and you’ll feel excited, maybe nervous, but most of all, in complete control and with a touch of bliss. Savour the moment, enter right into the magic and smile. Try to have breakfast. You may not get another chance to eat until they place a meal in front of you at the reception and if you fancy a couple of glasses of bubbly with your attendants while putting your make-up on, go ahead (but only a couple). Your head is in a whirl and this is not the time to cope with florists, placecards, last minute delivered gifts….. that’s what bridesmaids are for. They will look after you. You have earned this special time to pause for a moment and if your father is there with you to “give you away” hold his hand tightly in the bridal car on the way, because both of you will treasure that moment forever. YOUR WEDDING DAY
Nothing beats the personal touch
Buying your wedding gown online sounds cheap and convenient but it may not be what you expect - virtual change rooms don’t provide the careful and dedicated attention brides receive in a bridal boutique, especially in your own area. You could miss out on trying different styles. In a boutique you have the chance to experiment with gowns you wouldn’t usually choose and it could end up being “the one”. “Brides usually have firm ideas of what they “won’t wear” but we’ve seen bridesmaids or Mum convince them to try outside their list and often that’s the one they choose – you don’t have that freedom online”.
Candice Smith and Matthew Bauer were married in September in the Baldwin Wetlands, followed by a reception at ATW. Photo by Paul Beutel
No speeches please! You may have been told “no speeches” by the new couple, but it never works. Someone always wants, or needs to say something, so if you are a significant family member or best mate, have something prepared “just in case” There is a traditional order of speakers at a formal wedding; father of the bride, responded by the groom thanking his best man, groomsmen and bridesmaids. The best man then responds on behalf of the girls and the groom’s father. It rarely goes like this, these days. Never leave the speeches to chance (but it works beautifully and best sometimes just that way). A little organisation will ensure this part of your reception is interesting, pleasant, meaningful and entertaining. If you have to make a speech, rehearse it before the day and don’t have too many drinks to calm any nerves (recipe for disaster). Make eye contact with the people you mention personally in your speech. Say what you genuinely feel and you will be fine.

Agnes Water is the most northern surf each on the east coast of Australia and is paradise for board riders with unbelievable breaks. One of the most beautiful locations on the Queensland coast is Town of 1770 just minutes from Agnes and named after the visit of Lt James Cook in May 1770. As you arrive in the Town of 1770 you’ll see two big pink boats with wheels, behold the LARCs! (or “lighter amphibious resupply cargo) The eye-catching pink, amphibious craft, provides exclusive access inside Queensland's ONLY open, operating Lighthouse! Accommodation is for all tastes and budgets – five-star resorts to backpackers and everything in between. The choice is yours – ride the LARC, drop in a line, cruise to Lady Musgrave Island, take in the picturesque views, relax by the ocean, explore the national parks- have fun.

Baffle Creek – fishing, crabbing and boating The Baffle and its tributaries provide many kms of waterways for fishing, crabbing and boating. Many years ago small coastal steamers called at the Port of Baffle Creek picking up casks of tallow and stores for nearby cattle stations. Winfield on the southern side of the estuary is approximately 11 km off Rosedale Road. The Baffle Creek Catchment Area is a patchwork of national parks, conservation parks and state forests. The parks provide habitat of eucalypt forests, subtropical rainforest, dry rainforest and littoral rainforest for a great diversity of wildlife species. All these natural wonders can provide countless avenues to explore and enjoy a great holiday adventure. In May 1770, Lieutenant James Cook began his approach, near Baffle Creek, to the Queensland coast. Cook discovered a large bay, Bustard Bay 40 km north of Baffle Creek, in which the Endeavour anchored. This is the first place in Queensland where Cook landed, along with a party of men including botanist Joseph Banks.
Agnes Blues, Roots and Rock Festival It’s back this February 19 to 21 with Aria Hall of Fame inductee, music legend Russell Morris heading the list of amazing musicians fitting in as much blues roots and rock music that’s possible. If you ever needed an excuse to make a big blues weekend of it in paradise this is it. With over 1000 visitors flocking to the 2015 event, this year’s at the SES Grounds is gearing up to be a more star-studded event and highlight of the Agnes Water area event calendar.

Happy holiday motoring! Summer holidays are the ultimate time for camping adventures, getting away from it all and recharging your batteries. Whether you’re travelling long or short distances, it is important to be well equipped for any situation you may get yourself into so here’s some tips from Kumho Tyre Australia.
Camping with kids
Plan Your Trip Beforehand – Plan out the best route to travel. Take into account rest stops along the way, the weather forecast, the distance between towns, and of course how long the trip will take. A GPS is a great idea to set waypoints and stop offs along the route, and take the stress away from reading a map
If you want to see pure unconditional excitement watch kids when they go camping. At an early age camping can be an empowering learning experience introducing them to the beauty and wonder of nature and set them upon an enriching path for life. Obvious benefits includes the requirement for physical effort; it invigorates their senses, teaches positive awareness of their world and its creatures; important life skills and responsibilities and is not competitive or ego orientated. (And beside all that – it’s fun!)
Check Your Vital Signs – Check everything the day before. That way you’re not rushing around the morning of and susceptible to forgetting something important. (make sure your spare tyre is in good order)
Useful Tips
Stock Up – Stores may not be open late or on weekends so stock up on essentials.
Allow plenty of time for everything – packing gear, getting up in the morning, cooking, setting up tent, hiking. Enjoy your leisure time and avoid rushing to get things done. Have a relaxed, fun, informal attitude. Thunderstorms can be exciting and not something to dampen spirits. Shopping for equipment should be a family event. Kids will help investigate and show you just about everything in the store. Get everyone involved in the care of the equipment both while camping, and at home. For more information go to Australia’s website www.camping. com.au
Get Your Pressure Right – If you’re not sure of the optimal pressure for your tyres, specifications should be inside the drivers door or glove box. Remember to follow these guidelines when you're inflating, as too little pressure in your tyres will create higher rolling resistance, which leads to a higher fuel consumption. If you’re taking a full car or towing a trailer it’s a good idea to add an extra 4PSI as heavy loads can put extra strain on your tyres. Stop. Revive. Survive. – Those signs don’t lie, stop every two hours and switch drivers if possible.
