Emily Clarke with Mayor Anne Baker, Chairman Mackay Tourism Board, Paul O’Connor and Cr Geoff Bethel.
Energetic, motivated and talented – that’s how Isaac Regional Council’s Emily Clarke was described as she won the QantasLink MackayIsaac Tourism Young Achiever Award. The branding and graphic design officer based in Clermont had worked hard over 12 months to build the region’s tourism profile through high quality, appealing design work and photography. “Hopefully my work will attract more people to experience this diverse region – it has a lot to offer,” she said.
Silver Award for the Unique Accommodation category went to the 151 year old Nebo Hotel. Mayor Anne Baker said Emily’s work in branding and design is extremely important to position the region within the larger tourism industry. “I also congratulate Nebo Hotel owners Ben and Peggy Michelmore who are committed to our tourism industry and preserve an historical treasure. The Isaac Region services many tourists especially along the great inland way and coastal strip.”
