Space weather Jordana Cristina Lang17 Space weather does not say whether it will rain or shine, it is the weather of the entire heliosphere, magnetic storms and polar auroras which are phenomena that sometimes have catastrophic consequences that can cause changes even here on Earth. Abstract:
Keywords: Weather; Space; Heliosphere; Solar system.
From the chaos of other planets to the scorching heat of the Earth’s nearest neighbor, the Sun is responsible for a radical weather that is common throughout our solar system. Using data from space and terrestrial observatories, space meteorology studies models and makes prediction of space climate. This area is concerned with the climate in the heliosphere, and it is considered relatively new, as it is an extended version of the physics that studies the effects of the Sun on Earth. On Earth the Sun dictates our climate and sometimes does it violently. When cold and heat collide with the atmosphere, beware, it can severely affect the local and global climate, but storms on other planets are more intense and severe than their counterparts on Earth. Solar energy bathes all the planets, on Earth it generates hurricanes, on Mars far-reaching sandstorms, but almost without solar energy, on Neptune it produces powerful and violent winds. When the ionosphere is disturbed, it can cause changes in GPS tracking systems or even radio communications. It was possible to realize that even being in outer space, space weather can affect our planet significantly and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about such phenomena.
