NASA is an agency which is part of the government of the United States of America and it helps boosting the development of knowledge regarding space and areas of science and technology, in addition to having developed important contributions for mankind. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration – NASA is an associated federal government agency of the United States of America (USA) that has the objective of developing studies about the space and space exploration. NASA was created during the Cold War with the objective competing with the Soviet Union in the Space Race. NASA contributed in different areas of society , among them were missions that that promoted the development of space exploration, such as the most famous mission, Apollo 11 which put the first man on the Moon, one of the most memorable moments in the Apollo 11 mission was when Neil Armstrong said “ That´s one small step for a man , but one giant leap for mankind ”. Among the technologies developed by NASA are the body thermometer, that meant important advances in medicine. NASA has big plans for the future, among them are the colonization of Mars. In the view of the arguments presented we can understand that NASA is a federal government agency with the purpose of investigating the space and the universe, developing research and promoting space exploration, as well as carrying out important missions that changed history.
