Preference will be given to Colleyville residents; and programs are available for newborns through grade 5 and last for twelve weeks. Chess Club is open to ages 8-15. “ROCKET” READERS Reading is vital for children to succeed in school and in life, but many of them struggle with reading. What better listener than a friendly, nonjudgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Independent readers (grades 1-5) can bring a favorite book from home or choose one from the library, and read it to a furry friend while here at the library!
