Reviving the past and tradition with a contemporary taste has for years been the objective that guides and supports the Amelie et Sophie collections. GIMEL, increasingly towards sustainability by Noemi Agnani As everyone already knows, fashion is the most polluting sector on the planet, second only to oil production. With the worldwide growing interest in the theme of sustainability, in all walks of life, the various companies working in fashion have also had to modify their corporate policies, committing themselves first-hand to countering the slow destruction of our planet. GIMEL for some time now has also been an advocate of this new work philosophy of searching for and putting into place eco-sustainable policies regarding both the raw materials used and their dyeing, and the choice of partners. Energy saving and nature conservation are the top priorities in production for GIMEL, which has introduced several organic, zero-impact fabrics to the collections, and new dyes that allow a 70% saving in water. In addition, from 1 January 2018, the company adopted a quality manual that contains all the most stringent international regulations for the finishing of the raw materials. By preserving the environment in which we live, GIMEL also carries out the ideals of Made in Italy in terms of culture, quality and awareness.
Come tutti ormai sanno la moda è il settore più inquinante del pianeta, secondo solo a quello petrolifero. Con il crescente interesse mondiale per il tema della sostenibilità, in tutti i campi della vita, anche le diverse aziende che operano all’interno della moda hanno dovuto modificare le proprie politiche aziendali, impegnandosi in prima persona a contrastare la lenta distruzione del nostro pianeta.
