The search for a new sensorial journey and the mapping of new coordinates aimed at satisfying pleasures and desires inspired Francesco Risso to create an intense and pleasantly disturbing, innovative and anti-censorship collection that focuses on deconstructivism with a deep meaning. Destructured, disassembled, and reconstructed garments, from outerwear to daywear transformed into cocktail dresses, to sensual proposals for the evening developed with a decisive color selection made up of whites, blacks, and grays and fired up by the violent tones of cherry red and pumpkin orange. A focus on details points to accessories welded by studs and maxi brooches, while chains and rings define a postmodern punk derivative with a great charm.
La ricerca di inediti percorsi sensoriali e la mappatura di nuove coordinate rivolte alla soddisfazione dei piaceri e dei desideri, ispirano Francesco Risso nella realizzazione di una collezione intensa e piacevolmente disturbante, innovativa e anti-censura, che punta su un decostruttivismo dai profondi significati. Capi destrutturati, scomposti e ricostruiti, dai capispalla agli abiti da giorno che si trasformano in cocktail dresses, alle sensuali proposte per la sera, sviluppati con una selezione cromatica decisa, fatta di bianchi, neri e grigi e infuocata dai toni violenti del rosso ciliegia e dell’arancione zucca. Masculine and feminine, strength and finesse, sobriety and irony blend harmoniously in a succession of creations that express all of Miuccia’s versatility, making the most linear garments with a 90s minimalism converse with the complex constructions of militaryinspired outfits, passing through masculine tailoring that has an atelier feel, sophisticated and luxurious, without omitting the femininity of lace and bouquets that bloom luxuriantly on flowing dresses. Inventiva, pensierosa, dotata di intuito commerciale, Mary Quant è stata la stilista più emblematica degli anni ’60. Pioniera del design e della vendita al dettaglio, ha reso popolari le minigonne, i colori accesi, il gusto non convenzionale. Tutti aspetti che hanno caratterizzato l’energia esplosiva degli “Swinging Sixties”. Con l’apertura della sua boutique “Bazaar” Mary Quant ideò un’alternativa ai rigidi stili dell’alta moda. Il suo negozio offrì un’esperienza di shopping radicalmente diversa rispetto a quella dei couturier o dei grandi magazzini. Le giovani donne si recavano al “Bazaar” per fare acquisti in un ambiente dove musica ad alto volume, drink gratuiti, orari di apertura prolungati, creavano un nuovo approccio alla vendita e allo stile di vita. Mary Quant giocava con le proporzioni per creare “abiti comodi, adatti alla vita di tutti i giorni”. Esempi del suo approccio irriverente sono stati i cardigan lunghi da uomo, i colletti di plastica bianchi. Le sue minigonne furono lanciate dalla modella più famosa dell’epoca, Twiggy, la cui figura flessuosa ha contribuito a trasformare gli abiti corti in una tendenza internazionale. Dall’invenzione degli hot-pants, all’utilizzo del PVC, alla creazione di una gamma di intimo e collant, fino ai cosmetici per il viso, Mary Quant è stata la stilista di più alto profilo nel Regno Unito raggiungendo successi senza precedenti sul mercato. Il percorso espositivo vede la presenza di oltre 200 abiti, unitamente a fotografie, bozzetti, cosmetici, accessori che ricostruiscono il ventennio dal 1955 al 1975. La mostra sarà aperta al pubblico dal 6 aprile 2019 sino al 16 febbraio 2020 presso il Victoria & Albert Museum di Londra.

Inventive, thoughtful, and commercially intuitive, Mary Quant was the most emblematic designer of the 1960s. A pioneer in design and retail, she made miniskirts, bright colors, and unconventional tastes popular. All aspects that characterized the explosive energy of the “Swinging Sixties”. When she opened her boutique, “Bazaar”, Mary Quant conceived an alternative to the rigid styles of high fashion. Her store offered a radically different experience than that offered by couturiers or department stores. Young women would visit the “Bazaar” to shop in an environment where loud music, free drinks, and extended hours created a new approach to sales and a style of life. Mary played with proportions to create comfortable clothes, suitable for everyday needs. Examples of her irreverent approach were men’s long cardigans and white plastic collars, while her miniskirts were launched by the most famous model of the time, Twiggy, whose lithe figure helped transform short dresses into an international trend. From the invention of hotpants, to the use of PVC, to the creation of a range of lingerie and pantyhose, and also cosmetics, Mary Quant was the highest profile designer in the UK who achieved unprecedented success on the market. Displayed in the exhibition are over 200 of her dresses, along with photographs, sketches, cosmetics, and accessories, which reconstruct the years from 1955 to 1975. The exhibition will be open to the public from April 6th, 2019 to February 16th, 2020 at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

Pierpaolo Piccioli rende omaggio all’autenticità e all’arte del sogno, promuovendo un’idea di bellezza e armonia svincolate da cliché e stereotipi e definendo una nuova prospettiva, che promuove i contrasti. Romanticismo e ruvidità: la femminilità dei delicati abiti in tulle con decorazioni e volant e delle stampe floreali dialoga con la forte presenza di giacche in pelle e maxi pull dal senso materico, declinati in una palette assertiva di neri e rossi, interrotti dai rosa epidermici. Red Valentino Taken at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, the images of the Pre-fall REDValentino collection present a group of actual students, aspiring artists, who interpret the codes of the brand while being themselves in their everyday environment. Pierpaolo Piccioli pays homage to the authenticity and the art of dreams, promoting an idea of beauty and harmony that is devoid of clichés and stereotypes and defines a new perspective, promoting contrasts. Abiti dai tagli precisi, geometrici, ma dai movimenti fluidi e densi nel senso tattile del colore, che sceglie una palette fatta di accostamenti decisi: rosso ciliegia, rosa bubble e azzurro cielo dialogano con i toni epidermici del cipria e con il candore del bianco. Effetto trompe l’oeil per le stampe floreali in jacquard di cotone, che flirtano con giacche tailoring dalla vestibilità impeccabile e con soffici maglie in mohair dalle preziose lavorazioni, per un contemporaneo daywear, riservando il tulle e la seta in organza per le occasioni speciali.

Love and falling in love translate into a lively and colorful collection, inspired by the sentimental outbursts that make life full and dynamic, told with a fun and contemporary vocabulary. Creative director Sander Lak remains faithful to his aesthetic philosophy, creating garments with comfortable casual shapes but with complex constructions that play with layers and asymmetries in an intriguing and convincing mix. The fine materials he uses define sophisticated silhouettes, which respect volumes and proportions in the perspective of a defined style and a strong personality.
L’amore e l’innamoramento tradotti in una collezione vivace e colorata, ispirata agli slanci sentimentali che rendono la vita piena e dinamica e raccontata con un vocabolario divertente e contemporaneo. Hannah Arendt, American naturalized German thinker and philosopher, avid advocate of the concept of pluralism, affirmed that we are people the moment we choose the mask through which we show ourselves on the stage of the world. Alessandro Michele emphasizes this concept with a heterogeneous and opulent collection made up of exquisite creations with an intriguing appearance and with a good dose of lavishness, where bespoke pieces with an unfinished tone alternate with colorful dresses that play on the experimentation of fabrics and volumes. A succession of houndstooth and prints with logos make room for compact pleats and fine leathers, while punk details are a must. Presence and absence, tangible and invisible, truth and fiction, form and content, ambiguity becomes a stylistic code that finds coherence in the human condition of diversity and equality.
