Bogies on 11 and 12 dropped Peck out of the lead, and Keffer held a one-shot advantage heading to the 14th tee Three birdies in his last five holes led to Keffer posting a final round of 3under-par 68 and a three-shot victory
When asked what the key to his round was, Keffer stated, “Stay patient, see what happens, and not force anything ” Keffer stayed in the moment and focused on hitting fairways and greens and avoiding making mistakes Making only one bogey and four birdies during the final round meant he stayed in the moment and executed his game plan perfectly
Keffer’s victory marks his sixth Assistants Section Championship and eighth overall Colorado PGA Major Championship. When asked about what this victory and defending his title meant, Keffer said, “This one was great, this was for my mom, and we are going to give it to her.”
Finishing runner-up was Zach Peck, PGA Assistant Professional at TPC Colorado Peck finished the two days at 1-under-par and is one of three Colorado PGA Assistants who will represent the Section at PGA Golf Club in November
