KEFFER DEFENDS ASSISTANT SECTION TITLE, HIS SIXTH TOTAL Morrison, Colo. - Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted the players as they arrived at Red Rocks Country Club for the final round of the Colorado Assistant PGA Professional Championship. A bunched leaderboard heading into day two led to an exciting finish down the stretch. Geoff Keffer, PGA Assistant Professional at Lakewood Country Club, started the day in a tie for the lead with Zach Peck, PGA Assistant Professional at TPC Colorado. Keffer and Peck played the front nine in 1-under-par to stay tied heading into the final nine holes. Bogies on 11 and 12 dropped Peck out of the lead, and Keffer held a one-shot advantage heading to the 14th tee. Three birdies in his last five holes led to Keffer posting a final round of 3under-par 68 and a three-shot victory. When asked what the key to his round was, Keffer stated, “Stay patient, see what happens, and not force anything.” Keffer stayed in the moment and focused on hitting fairways and greens and avoiding making mistakes.
