CSA President Scott Jones

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is reviewing a resolution opposing wolves in Colorado. There are efforts again being directed towards looking at possible reform of the Endangered Species Act, including efforts being facilitated by the Western Governors Association that I recently participated in. I think the Western Governors Association should be commended for starting these discussions as any discussion of reform or revision of the Endangered Species Act is often surrounded by vigorous responses from a lot of parties. It is my position that there are a lot of areas where the Act could be reformed to function far better and with less impacts to activities that do not related to protecting a species that is actually at risk. I don’t think there are is a lot of support for completely doing away with the Act, as everyone agrees that a species truly at risk should be protected and helped towards recovery. While there is a lot of discussion around the Act and its effectiveness, probably one of the most surprising positions being taken has been Colorado Parks and Wildlife looking at a resolution opposing the reintroduction of wolves in Colorado. Many in Colorado would vigorously support such a position. I think it speaks volumes to the act that wildlife managers are opposing the reintroduction of a species on the list and this type of a position provides a large amount of hard evidence that there are serious problems with the Act. Maybe the lynx reintroduction of almost 15 years ago in Colorado still has left too bad a taste in many people’s mouths as those efforts never impacted the status of the lynx on the ESA but have resulted in a lot of ongoing issues and conflicts for wildlife managers. The fundamental problems with the Act that lead wildlife managers to even look at these types of positions simply must be addressed.

CSA Raffle Dianna Rexford Thanks to all the clubs who sold tickets this year. Also a big THANK YOU to Arctic Cat who provided the sleds at cost to CSA and the dealers of Arctic Cat who donated toward the sleds to help bring our cost even further. All of the participating dealers were provided tickets and a poster to help promote floor traffic. The proceeds of their sales were awarded to the clubs of their choice. The drawing was held December 12 at 3:00 p.m. at Big D Motorsports in Woodland Park with about 40 people present. The winner of the M8000 was Jared McCleary from Hayden, CO. He purchased his winning ticket from the Routt Powder Riders. The winner of the ZR120 was Sharon Gent from Craig, which was purchased from Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club. Preliminary figures show total number of tickets sold came to 7,980. We don’t have a total of the expenses yet so are not able to determine the amount each club will be awarded for the tickets their club sold. Expenses were down thanks to Arctic Cat providing the prizes for $4,800. Check next month’s Snow Scoop article next month for more details. The money for each club will be available for pick up at the annual convention in January. Be sure to attend the banquet at which time we will give out the checks.

District 1 Colorado Blizzards

www.snowmobilecolo.com

Kasey Lauer The season is going great for the Blizzards. Along with all the snow, the Blizzards are excited about the proceeds from this year’s Christmas party. We were thrilled to be able to donate $600 to Right To Ride! Then to bring in the New Year, our January meeting focused on safety during Doug Clancy’s GPS and mapping presentation. Also our new club t-shirts were finished, and passed out at the end of the meeting. Our first boondocker class/club ride was January 16 at Rabbit Ears, which was a great success. Also a few of our members were present at the CSA Convention and Annual Ride the weekend of January 23 at Mt. Princeton. We are now looking forward to our own annual Presidents Day club ride. Also for the season we are looking forward to the installation of the Beacon Checkpoint system. Once all the logistics are worked out, we are ready to give our promised donation to finalize the first checkpoint! Overall our season has been eventful; plenty of stuck sleds, lots of laughs, and new friendships made. We are looking forward to more snow, and a happy, healthy new year.

District 2 Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club Jenn Tonso This last Saturday, January 30, the Craig Snowmobile Club held its annual snowmobile poker run. The participation was great, with 116 riders and 382 poker hands. The ride started at the Freeman trailhead, covered 34 miles, with five stations where participants spun for their poker hands. The weather started out cloudy and later, with wind and near whiteout snow conditions, became an interesting ride. However, all participants completed the entire ride. Even so, riders were all smiles as they returned to the last station at the Freeman trailhead. After the ride, prizes were awarded at the OP Bar and Grill, which served either a yummy green or red chili hamburger. Prizes were awarded, with the best hand receiving $796.25, the next best hand receiving $477.75and the third best hand receiving $318.50. Other participants receiving special prizes were 18-month-old Rycker Wartluft who rode with his parents on their snowmobiles. The youngest person riding his own snowmobile was Hunter Filler, age seven. The oldest rider was 87 year young, John Jepkema. Most all participants received a prize donated by a total of 42 businesses mostly in Craig, with a few Hayden and Steamboat Springs business also donating prizes. With the proceeds of both the annual poker run and the snowmobile raffle, the Northwest Colorado Snowmobile Club awards scholarships to Moffat County High School graduating seniors. Last year we were able to award three $1,000 scholarships and hope to award the same or more scholarships to deserving 2016 Moffat County High School graduates. NOWECOS sends thanks and appreciation to all participants and the business for supporting our scholarship program. thanks goes also to the O.P Bar and Grill for hosting our evening meal and providing a place to award prizes. Thanks to our club members for their efforts resulting in a very successful Poker Run.

District 2 White River Snowmobile Club Suzan Pelloni The White River Snowmobile Club was asked to assist in the recovery of a single engine plane that had crashed west of Meeker on January 14. The snowcat was able bring out all the remaining pieces of the plane so they could be sent off for thorough investigation, hopefully finding answers to this tragic accident. The club hosted a family fun day on January 23 in Ute Park (location of the famous Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials). With over 75 spectators in attendance, we enjoyed homemade chili, cornbread and cookies, along with a three part race. Thirteen entrants put on a great show in the radar run, pole bending and barrel races. Jessica Berthelson posted the fastest time of the day, with a smoking 68 miles an hour on the radar run, while Nathan Pelloni clocked the fastest times in the challenging pole bending and barrel courses. Winners of both the men’s and women’s classes donated their winnings back to the White River Snowmobile Club. Following the races, the Rio Blanco County Search & Rescue hid an avalanche beacon for a scavenger hunt. A good lesson was learned, check your transceiver batteries frequently! It took some time and a bunch of digging, but Zack Cook recovered the beacon, taking home $25 off his next order with local parts and accessory sponsor, Dole Equipment. Overall, the fun day brought in over $470 for our club, plus great excitement to unveil additional events for the 2016 season. Looking for a new place to ride this month? You should consider Meeker! With over 80” of snow at the summit of Ripple Creek pass, our groomer is working non-stop providing perfectly groomed trails throughout the White River National Forest region. Meeker has a number of lodging options, along with restaurants capable of accommodating large groups. For more information on lodging and dining, contact the Meeker Chamber of Commerce, 970-878-5510 or info@meekerchamber.com Located about 30 miles up the White River in Marvine Creek, a lovely yurt with wood burning stove awaits guests wishing to snowshoe or cross country ski up the valley. The White River Nordic Council does not charge to enjoy the yurt or trail, only donations are requested so that we can continue to keep the yurt and trail in pristine condition. The joint fund raiser between the Grand Lake Trail Blazers and the Denver Mile Hi clubs is just about to occur on Saturday, February 20 in Grand Lake. This event has been an ongoing event for a number of years to raise money for Flight For Life (FFL) and now for CSA Right To Ride (RTR) both great causes. Hopefully you were able to support this fun and rewarding event in Grand Lake, CO. This is one of those locations were you can jump on your sled and ride out of town and hit the trails. The poker run is a blast for all ages, years ago I invited a friend to attend and he ended up riding with one of the Forest Service Rangers and won the best hand putting $700 dollars of cold cash in his pocket. Presidents Day is coming up and I hope you were all able to take that day off on hit the mountains. I happen to have that day off and plan to do a long weekend somewhere in Colorado. My Nytro has had a few problems this year, broken handle bars, turbo hick up and lastly a shut down on my electrical system most likely a problem with the battery; more on this issue later. Recently I was fortunate to have a friend with a spare Ski Doo when my Nytro sled let me down. By the way my sled rarely ever lets me down but it did. Riding the Doo was alot of fun and did take a little to get use to but I quickly caught on. Last week my wife who also now rides a 2013 154” X Doo was able to ride so I put some mile on hers. OMG we rode up at Snowy Range in a true three feet of fresh powder. What a day, it was one of those once in a lifetime days with the snow hitting you in the chest and face. We actually took a almost rookie rider with us and she rocked. She had no idea what wonderful conditions she was really in, she had the ride of her life also on a new to her Doo. This ride was also a Reunion of sorts with friends that I have not connected with for years as one riding group and we had a great time together. Let the good times continue with you and your family and friends! In closing, I am coming into my last year as the District #3 Rep and have enjoyed the last three terms (six years). So I am looking for someone to fill my boots, you must be from Grand Lake, Denver or Frisco and must ride a Yamaha. Let me know if you are interested and fill the geo requirements.

Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club Tom Mason Our season has been good so far. For the first time in several years we were able to ride to the Hot Dog Ride. We had a tremendous turnout for it, too, with 35 from our club and our sister club, Mile Hi, enjoying a dog in the snow. The Long Ride was great, too, with 18 riders making the trip from Grand Lake to Gould and back. The club did a little trail work to remove a couple of fallen trees from the Illinois Pass Trail prior to the Long Ride. Upcoming events include our Steak Ride on February 13 (RSVP required). The club buys the steaks and the rest of the meal is pot luck. Dick Doucette is the contact for this ride 970-531-4148 crdoucette@gmail.com Saturday, February 20 Trail Blazers and Mile Hi team up for the 15th Annual Poker Run, benefitting Flight for Life, with a Silent Auction benefitting FFL and the CSA Right to Ride Fund. It’s not too late to donate items for the Silent Auction. Donors decide which fund (or both) their donation will benefit. Friday Happy Hour at 6pm at the Gateway Inn, Saturday’s After Party at 6pm at the Sagebrush BBQ & Grill. Event Chair – Toni Boettcher toni_boettcher@hotmail.com or 720-208-6692 February 27 is our Moonlight Ride. David Zimmerman is contact 303-908-6950, zimmcon@gmail.com Eat hot dogs and brats around the bonfire in Hatchet Park. The groomer will swing by to answer questions or even take you for a short ride to see how the trails are maintained. Our last planned event for the season is the Overnight Ride March 2-4 Contact Judy & Sam Eberly : Sam 316-655-3818, Judy 316-259-2503 or eberlysnow970@sbcglobal.net. This one takes us to Steamboat Lake to ride their trails. We’ll stay at Hahn’s Peak Roadhouse (make your own reservations). Some of the group will ride Rabbit Ears on the way to Hahn’s Peak Roadhouse on Friday. We’ve gotten good snow this season (so far, knock on wood) and the trails are in great shape. Come see what riding in Grand Lake is all about.

District 8 Uncompahgre Valley Trail Riders Rich Jakino Well, here it is, the middle of the snowmobile season, already! (in my mind, anyway) There is an abundance of snow out there in our area. Almost six feet on The Uncompahgre Plateau, over six feet on Owl Creek and close to five feet on The Little Cimarron. Our PB 300 groomer is stuck in six feet of snow 12 miles away so we are going to wait until spring to haul it to Grand Junction to get it repaired. We were not able to repair it on site. We are going to finish out the grooming season by hauling our PB 100 to all of our grooming locations. The little PB 100 is having a real battle with all of the snow this year. Hope to solve this problem with a Groomer Grant this spring. On the lighter side, the Club has been having a club ride almost every week. We have been on High Mesa, Grand Mesa, Black Mesa, Leroux Creek, Owl Creek and The Uncompahgre Plateau. On February 3 we hosted The North Fork Snowmobile Club for a ride on The Uncompahgre Plateau. We had a fair turnout however, a lot of people declined because of “TOO MUCH SNOW.” (Crazy, isn’t it!!) In January I took part in the CSA annual meeting and ride at Mount Princeton. They had a good turnout and a lot of good riding on Cottonwood Pass. Our group had the pleasure of having Ron and his wife from Buena Vista as our guide. They were a lot of fun to ride with and knew all of the back country trails. THANKS! Mount Princeton did a nice job on the food for the meetings. Thanks to them also! Scott started the CSA meeting early and kept it moving so that we could get out of there to be home for the Bronco playoff game. It worked good for me because I got to Montrose for the opening kickoff to see the Broncos win a spot to go to the Super Bowl! Thanks, Scott! Until next time, Happy and Safe sledding. See you on the trails!

District 9

Melody Walters

San Juan Sledders

Greetings from the southwest! First of all, let me just say that I love reading the reports that come in from each district! This year I’m seeing that there is a lot of my favorite thing on the planet (next to my family) which is SNOW! It is the one thing that unites us as an association, brings us together in club meetings, and lets us spend time together as friends in the back country on these incredible machines. I can’t speak for all, but things like double checking my avy beacon batteries, smelling the fumes when fueling up, and seeing the sleds on my trailer in the rearview mirror while headed to meet friends…those are just a few of the things I look forward to as soon as there is snow on the ground. Here in the San Juan Sledders Snowmobile Club area our “snow dancing” has paid off, and we are having a pretty fantastic season in regards to accumulation. As I write, I’m watching huge flakes fall on day two of what is forecasted to be a three day storm. Over a foot and a half of new powder, and I’m thinking today should be a day of horsepower and powder therapy! Roger, Travis and Marty (our esteemed primary groomers), have been hard at work grooming the trails, and at this point the only trail not groomed is Bolam Pass (due to the amount of snow). We are appreciative of this, those bumps in the trail are not always fun! If you are willing to help your club groom, I’m sure they would be happy to have you. I know I’ve seen our guys on their way to and from where they are grooming, and it’s an all-night adventure! Sometimes the conditions are less than favorable, and others it can be downright scary. Even if they are passing your house and you are able to offer them a cup of coffee, or a thermos of hot soup, I’m sure it would be appreciated! San Juan Sledders Snowmobile club is expanding and are working on updating our website and Facebook page. At our January meeting, our current VP Andrea brought to our attention the need for working

with avalanche/recovery K9 organizations in the area. The Dolores dog team was utilized in the Grand Canyon recently for a plane crash, and a learning experience that came out of that was the need for a better way to transport the dogs. The only method available at that time was being pulled behind a snowmobile on an open sled, resulting in the dogs having frostbite on their ears and paws. Additionally, some of the dogs were unsure of the snowmobiles and were fairly anxious due to not ever having been around them before. Our club decided to help participate in trainings with these dogs in order to help them get used to the movement and sounds of the snowmobiles. We are also planning to work with the local SAR (Search and Rescue) K9 teams on coming up with enclosed, warmer means of transportation. We are not sure what all that will entail at this point, but are looking forward to helping our four legged friends! Reminder: With all of the Avalanche fatalities this season so far, it’s heartbreaking to think that if at least some of them had proper training and equipment they would have come home to ride again. Never forget that no matter how many A-arms are bent, bumpers caved in or belts blown, the day that you all can come home after playing in the snow to be with your family again is hands down the Best day ever! The San Juan Sledders Snowmobile Club meetings area the second Thursday evening of the month during snow season. If you are new to the area, passing through or just staying for a short time, come join us! It’s always fun to meet others that share our passion for snowmobiling. Stop by our Facebook page (San Juan Sledders Snowmobile Club) to see time and location of the meetings. Stay safe and warm out there and as always, Happy Sledding!! – Melody Walters

Wolf Creek Trailblazers Tim Betchelor February is here already and the snow has really piled up in the south San Juan Mountains. Pagosa Springs has been blessed so far this season with plenty of white stuff for all of us to ride on and believe me the tourists are rolling into the Pagosa area from all over the country to play in the deep powder. Trail conditions have been the best I’ve seen in five years due to the cold temperatures and the amount of precipitation that has fallen in all elevations. I’ve been grooming constantly to try and keep up with the amount of sleds that are using our trail system. Every trail in the Wolf Creek Trailblazer area has been groomed this season and has plenty of deep snow to ride on. Some of the trails have not seen a groomer in three seasons due to minimal snowfall in the lower elevations. Other issues that I have been dealing with this season is winter access at some of our trail heads. Private inholding within the Federal boundaries and plowed roads have been a challenging issue but so far with the help of the Forest Service and continued use from our local riders , we have maintained the right to ride and groom trails on Federal Land. The Wolf Creek Club has scheduled several rides over the past two months and at the upcoming February meeting, we will be planning a few more. If you are interested in finding out more information on when and where club rides will occur stop in at Boss Hoggs restaurant at the west end of Pagosa around 6 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month thru the winter season. I included a picture of how much snow we have seen in the past month on our fourmile trail. Figured everyone may get a laugh at this Forest Service bathroom. If you need any further information in regards to riding the Pagosa Springs area please feel free to call me at any time and I will give you the latest snow and trail conditions in the area.

Contest Looking for that avalanche probe? Look no further! This year, the CSA has teamed up with Matt Entz and Brian Lundstedt (Tyler’s Backcountry) to help us with this season’s probe contest. In each issue we will be printing an article based on avalanche/backcountry education which will come with a short quiz. To enter, just read the article, write down your answers and send them off to Jeanna at coloradosnowmobileassociation@yahoo.com. You will be entered to win an awesome new avalanche probe from the CSA and San Juan Sports in Creede and better yet - you will be a bit more prepared for a safe and enjoyable year!

Avalanche Safety Brian Lundstedt Hey guys, as I write this it is after a rough January and start to our February. In the last 37 days we have lost 15 of our backcountry family. I am at a loss of words for how I feel, my heart rips every morning that I read another accident happened somewhere. What has come of all of this can hopefully help save lives. With social media feeds running at full steam after every accident and often times before full accident reports can be released, it seems we are focused on the wrong part of the accident too much of the time. Sure we can call names, belittle and easily see, in hindsight, where the problem was. Very few of us would step in front of a train knowing what we have learned from childhood, trains are fast heavy and don’t stop so well. Would it really matter if we have a helmet on when we did it, not really. Lots of things could happen, the trick is not stepping in front of the train. This leads me to ask why do we do it, why do we put ourselves in harms way when every sign is saying don’t go. Please don’t misunderstand that sentence, I do not mean don’t go into the backcountry and I don’t even mean don’t go into avy terrain, but when every bit of information says do not go there, now, then why do we continue on. Part of our brain knows the reward. The good feeling that comes with riding extreme terrain or even just going where so few have. What ever good feeling you have been rewarded with while traveling on your sled. Your brain knows it feels good, exciting and has usually, for you produced good results. So then why listen to all the warnings, you have done it before and nothing bad happened. Well it may not be the first time you play in traffic that you get hit by a car, but after enough time an accident will happen. I have spent the majority of my life making it a habit to spend as much time as possible in climates that are hospitable at best. Riding my sled in areas that can kill me and I have done this without ever having a bad day. Never was I caught and only once have I even triggered an avalanche. I have never not made it out of the backcountry. I chalk this down to years of practicing what I now teach and constantly observing and reading what the mountain is telling me. How can I always have another ride, is a a question that I ask myself often when faced with decisions. It is easy and to date I have never felt cheated out of the “the line I had to hit.” It will be there tomorrow or next weekend, heck I might have to wait years to come back to this area, but when I do that line will be there. When the time is right I will take it and enjoy it. Sometimes we take risks, because lets be honest it is fun. With education and knowledge I can choose the risk and make sure it fits into our level of risk acceptance. I don’t rush off and bomb into terrain. I start before I leave the house, checking my expert resources at the CAIC (avalanche. state.co.us/) and then continue talking to the guys/gals in my crew, ensuring that I didn’t misread or just plain leave out some important piece of the puzzle. Then when I rip the cord and head off I am constantly looking for the next challenge and as long as I align that with the challenge of finding instability and what the bulletin spoke of for the problem of the

day, then I can push harder and deeper into terrain. When I find what Mother Nature is calling the limits then I know where to stop. I know she is hiding her secrets and I know that to find them in a haphazard manner will result in tragedy. I don’t ever want to call the loved ones in a group I ride with and have to explain why we were at that spot or how hard I tried. I want another ride with them. Equally, I don’t want to force them to make that call to mine. I want to ride until I am old enough to enjoy CSA meetings (if that is even possible). I want to share this sport with the youth and the visitors from other states and countries. I want to choose when I hang up my boots, not have them hung up for me. My riding goal has never been to get to this point or climb that hill or fill in your own blank with something you love about riding. It has always been to make it home, make another ride. Maybe spend another day digging my dad out of silly stucks. I have objectives when I ride, but they are fluid, if I get there and it isn’t right I don’t do it. If the group moved slower through the morning than I thought and I really wanted to share a specific place with them, maybe we have to save it for another day. By setting my goal at my truck I am far less likely to push too hard and too far to make it back. I have never been told that the days ride was no good or that they had a horrible time. We always had fun and can laugh over dinner or a summer camping trip about all that happened before we got back to the truck. I have been on the losing side of the game, I lost my brother. One of the best riders I have ever known, a kid I would put up against many of the household names that I now call my friends, and he would hold his own if not teach a thing or two. I would trade everything for a few more rides or a couple more nights sitting back and laughing. For some, that loss ends differently than it did for me. It has driven me to help others, it is my driving force and why I get up every day and read the accident reports. It is why I spend my winter away most of the time sharing with others from anywhere that will listen. Mostly it is why I am writing this. We need to start a movement; we need to bring on a cultural change. Hold ourselves and our crew to a standard. Take this seriously so that we can enjoy it. We live in a place that people travel for hours or days to get to. We live in a place that to many, dreams are made of. Yet we treat it like a game, a joke or something that is not real. Let’s set an example and let’s make it known that here, in the West, we take snowmobiling seriously. If we do, the rest will follow and fewer will have the worst day anyone can imagine. 1 - How can we affect cultural change? - Seriously, no wrong answer. Please submit them back to me. 2 - What can we do to share this outside of the clubs, with our backcountry brothers and sisters? - Seriously, no wrong answer. Please submit them back to me. 3 - Are you prepared if there is an accident and if not what is the first step? - Seriously, no wrong answer. Please submit them back to me.

Industry News Polaris Snocrosser Corin Todd Takes Third in Snocross at 2016 Winter X Games to Earn Bronze Medal Paul Thacker Earns Silver Medal in Adaptive Snocross Racing in the Winter X Games for just the second time, Polaris snocross racer Corin Todd (Leighton Motorsports) earned the bronze medal in the snocross final as he finished third in racing held Jan. 28 at Aspen, Colorado. Earlier in the day, Polaris racer Paul Thacker celebrated after finishing second in adaptive snocross to win the silver medal. Todd got off to a strong start in the 20-lap final, coming out of the first corner in third, then holding off all challengers before steadily stretching his advantage to earn a spot on the podium and win a medal. The Otego, New York, racer finished ninth one year ago in his first Winter X Games final. Todd finished third in his X Games heat race, which qualified him for the final. In the same heat race, Ross Martin (Judnick Motorsports) finished fourth to also reach the final, and Andrew Carlson (Carlson Motorsports) finished ninth. In the other heat race, Polaris racer Kyle Pallin (Team LaVallee Mystik, Loctite, Polaris, Red Bull) finished sixth, Iain Hayden (Rockstar Energy OTSFF Polaris) was seventh, and Trevor Leighton (Leighton Motorsports) was eighth. Except for the annual Winter X Games, the Polaris racers compete full-time on the ISOC National circuit. Todd, in just his second season

of Pro Open racing, earned his first Pro Open podium finish on Jan. 22 in Deadwood, S.D., where he finished second in the final. In ISOC National Pro Open points, Kyle Pallin is currently in fifth place, Corin Todd is sixth, and two Hentges Racing teammates who have been sidelined with injuries, Kody Kamm and Petter Narsa, are ninth and 10th, respectively. Ryan Springer (Carlson Motorsports) is 11th in Pro Open points, Trevor Leighton (Leighton Motorsports) is 13th, Andrew Carlson (Carlson Motorsports) is 17th, and Ross Martin (Judnick Motorsports), who has been racing despite an ankle injury, is 18th. The ISOC National schedule resumes Feb. 5-6 in Salamanca, New York. Thacker Wins Silver Medal Alaska native Paul Thacker was a top snowmobile freestyle rider and was featured in several extreme riding videos before a riding accident in late 2010 left him partially paralyzed. He never lost his passion for snowmobiling, and he continued to ride and race. Everything fell into place for the Polaris rider on Jan. 28 as he finished second in Winter X Games Adaptive Snocross to earn an X Games silver medal. He shared his excitement with friends and

fans via social media, telling them: “After nine years of X Games, all the hard work, sacrifice, dollars spent and days on the road finally came to fruition. Silver medal in SnoX today. Literally couldn’t be happier. Such an indescribable feeling of finally making it happen. So many people have been in my corner for so long, I can’t thank you all enough… Thanks to my family, immediate and extended. Wouldn’t have happened without you. Beyond excited.” Before his injury, Thacker, now 42, had competed in the X Games in snowmobile events including freestyle, best trick, long jump, and speed and style. Plus, in 2009, Thacker was the first rider ever to jump at least 100 yards on a snowmobile, flying 301.5 feet on a Polaris 600 IQ®.
