In 2013, our first coffee competition was commenced with very simple mission providing a relaxing and professional platform for coffee practitioners to share knowledge in the coffee community This event was unexpectedly well-recognized by international judges and the community. The success is consolidated by immense support from different parties, which enables us to further develop and extend the concept in a sustainable manner. In our 7th year, Coffee Power continues to achieve beyond competition As a coffee ambassador, we envision to showcase the excellence of Hong Kong’s coffee practitioners, encouraging them to pursue professionalism in their career paths We strive to provide platform for dialogue and exchange opportunities among local and international coffee practitioners while certifying and honouring their achievements In the coming year, we aim to offer our winners various exchange opportunities to explore coffee in different perspectives in manifold countries It is our unswerving mission to keep advancing towards our vision by seizing every chance to promote coffee. Van Lin (Taiwan) Founder of GABEE. Cafe, one of the first specialty coffee shop in Taiwan, since 2004. Van won Champion of the first and third Taiwan Latte Art Championship. Team GABEE. Achieved outstanding record at Taiwan Barista Championship in the following 5 years, total 7 trophies including 5 champions. He also the first Taiwanese to compete in the World Latte Art Championship. Van won various awards in overseas competi tions and also been invited to be judge or performer in many major occasions. Van and his GABEE. Has worked with 40+ brands across the industries to create amazing events and merchandise, and well-demonstrate the “unlimited possibili ties” of coffee. Jacky Lai (Taiwan) Jacky crowned as the Champion in 2014 World Coffee Roasting C ha m p i on s h i p after he won the C hamp i on of 2014 W or l d Coffee Roasting (Taiwan National) Championship. Jacky is the CQI Q-grader, Cupping Judge of Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) and Authorized Trainer of Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE). Jacky is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of COACHEF Café, the owner of Café Wakeup & Oh ! Café. Felix Wong has established his first independent operators of quality coffee in Hong Kong since 2001. Now he’s the co-founder of Coffee Assembly, Café Corridor, N1 Coffee and OVOCAFE. He qualified as a CQI Coffee Q-grader. He also devotes himself to the local and China coffee industries by judging many recognized coffee competitions, including World Barista Championship (HK Region), World Siphonist Championship (HK Region), Grade Barista Championship Coffee Power Championship, Hong Kong Aeropr4ess Championship and Roaster’s Choice Championship in Bangkok.

Keith is the Founder of Blooom Coffee House. He dedicates himself to be judge of World Barista Championship (WBC) and Coffee Power Championship. Several bloggers has described that the café culture in Macau was blossomed at Blooom, which provide full service in coffee industry from local roasted bean, coffee education and running leading specialty coffee education in Macau. Keith also runs two leading specialty coffee shops, Single Origin and Communal Table in Macau He is CQI Q Grader and Authorized trainer of Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

Power Chester Tam (Hong Kong) Chester Tam is the founder of Ideaology. He established his first cafe in 2006 and currently operate 4 coffee shops. He has over 10 years of solid experience in barista training and coffee judging. He is the first certified trainer of Specialty Coffee Association of Europe in Hong Kong and certified trainer of UK's City and Guild since 2009. He is also involved in a lot of competitions around the world including being the first person in Hong Kong to be certified as Judge of World Barista Championship and World Latte Art Championship since 2012. Kevin Shao (Taiwan) Kevin attained a PHD from College of Medicine, National Cheng K ung U n i ve rsi ty He s pec ializ e s i n mi c r ob i o l o g y , m o l ecu la r b i o l ogy, b i ochem i stry, coffee roa s t i ng chem i stry and wate r chemistry. Edwin Lee (Hong Kong) Edwin Lee is the founder and organizer of Coffee Powe r Championship since 2013 He devoted himself and his team to support all kinds of coffee competitions in Hong Kong and China He dedicated in judging over 80 National and Regional Coffee Championships in HK, China and Asian countries. Edwin has qualified as CQI Coffee Q-grader, SCAE & SCAA Authorized Trainer. He has established Colour Brown Coffee since 2005, now operating 2 other brands “Coffee Store by Colour Brown” and “ COFFEE DX ” and organizing o v er 30 cultural acti v itie s related to coffee, art and charity last year. Daniel Chan (Hong Kong) Daniel was Co-founder of KC Coffee in 2010, Blossom coffee shop in 2017 and About Coffee Roaster in 2019. He received barista and roasting training at Honey Coffee in Fukuoka, Japan. Also, one of the participant of the 1st Roastgem Experi mental Cup in Hong King in 2018. Besides holding SCA AST in Roasting, Daniel also has various judging experience in World Barista Championship (Hong Kong), World Siphonist Champi onship (Hong Kong), Mixed Barista Art Championship, Coffee Power Championship and Coffee Power Latte Art Competition.

Finalist. He is also Champion of 2013 and 2014 Coffee Power Roasting Championship and 1st Runner-up of Coffee Power Cup Tasters Championship. Josie Cheng (Hong Kong) Josie is CQI Q-Grader, SCAA Lead Instructor, Authorized SCAE Trainer & Certifier. She is the Co-founder of Return Coffee 362, T2 Coffee Fantasy and Barista HK. She has been supported the coffee industry by involving in many event task force commit tees of Coffee Power Championship and World Cup Tasters Championship (HK Region). She qualified as judge of World Barista Championship (HK region), World Siphonist Champion ship (HK Region), World Brewers Cup Champions.

Ivy Lai (Hong Kong) Currently working in Hong Kong. 11 years barista experience. Ivy is active in local and overseas Latte Art Competitions in past 7 years. Ivy has been crowned as Champion in Hong Kong Grand Latte Artist Championship in 2013, Champion in Coffee Fest Latte World Championship 2016 at New York city, Champion of Los Angels TNT 2014 Season Qualifier. She has rich profes sional coaching experience and her team won Champion of Hong Kong Latte Art Championship and the sixth place ow World Latte Art Championship in Berlin in 2019. The competition is divided into two competition days: A. Day One & Day Two (Qualifying Round) Competitors make two matching free pour espresso macchiatos, two lattes, and two identical drinks in the surprise ODD CUP. Each drink will be judged against the i r pre s ented p i cture of pattern w i th O DD C u p following the same pattern as latte. The participants do not have any practice time. There will be five (5) minutes preparation time, nine (9) minutes competition times. Top 12 competitors with highest mark from Day one and Day two will advance to Final Round B. The team has to make six (6) Cappuccino and three (3) identical V60 brews. Team must inform the judges of roast profile, specific taste notes and the philosophy on coffee they present. There will be fifteen (15) minutes preparation time, fifteen (15) minutes competition time

B. PERFORMANCE ROUND

This completion challenges the team in an on-demand performance, from coffee cup tasting, coffee blending, grinding, brewing to customer service. Every element along the line is important. Competitors will act as a group consistin of 3 members and present the beverage by using espresso machine, and pour-over drip to judges just like what it is in a café. Competitors must identify the origin of each cup of coffee by pushing it over the line into its designed box. Highest score will be given to the competitor who correctly identifies the most cups in the shortest amount of time. There will be eight (8) minutes competition time.

This competition is divided into four sessions: A. Day One & Day Two (Roasting) Competitors will be given thirty (30) minutes to evaluate the screen size and defect count; another thirty (30) minutes to roast the beans; and thirty (30) minutes to cup the coffees on stage. Competitors should select and submit the best 150g roasted coffee beans for blind cupping on the next day by Judges B. Day Two & Day Three (Cupping by Judges) Judges will participate in the Final Cupping, featuring all of the submitted roasted coffee. The Final Cupping shall be double blind, meaning one official shall mark each competitor’s submitted coffee with a code and keep an answer key to decode the coffee. Colour Brown, and our subsid iary brands 'Coffee Store' and 'COFFEE DX' focus on coffee roastery, cafe operations and merchandise. We zealously connects coffee with the environment, and further extends the connection to humanity, cultural and creative industries, as well as industrial innovation. Colour Brown works actively on the sustainabil ity of coffee industry. Aside from organising a series of coffee events and competitions, they hosted art exhibitions in connection with concepts of coffee, representing coffee in different artistic forms. We imagine. Coffee Power Championship was unprecedentedly founded in 2013 to encour age professionalism in coffee community. With immense support from international and local coffee practitioners, we connect with the world competitions by integrating knowledge from industry both in and out of the city. A great variety of competitions have been hosted in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre during the past 7 years, attracting more than thousands of elites in industry and hundred thousands of audience. While Coffee Power stands for the greatest enthusiasms and passion to coffee, coffee connects people and generates inestimable momentum to the community.
