moving-picture storytelling continues to define our culture, fed by an everexpanding stream of new venues, screens, and formats. our digitally based Cinematic Arts program teaches you to channel your unique voice into strong content no matter where you want to go: mainstream feature films, motion graphics, fineart installations, interactive media, original television, independent films, music videos, or commercials. You’ll explore every step in the filmmaking process—storyboarding, production design, cinematography, directing, and post-production—using industry standard, 21st-century tools and techniques.

the world of fashion extends from Walmart to ralph lauren, famous footwear to louis Vuitton, and its reach is truly international. studying fashion design at CCAd will get you ready for a role in both high art and big business. You’ll learn hands-on skills in design and construction, including the high-end software used to design and render apparel for today’s global market, complemented by an array of marketing and professional skills coursework. the world of fine arts is as fast-moving as any other creative discipline, and our fine Arts program is one of the most technically diverse on campus— encompassing everything from entirely immaterial conceptual work, to the most finely wrought jewelry, to the most monumental sculptural installation. Intensive studio courses are complemented by work in liberal arts and professional practices to prepare you for a successful and lifelong artistic practice in a wide array of careers. specific instruction and facilities are available in ceramics, drawing, glassblowing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.
iLLustRation from advertising campaigns and websites to children’s books and video games: the Illustration major opens doors to a huge variety of fields. Courses include studio work in traditional and digital media, humorous and cartoon styles, and 3-d models, to name a few—as well as projects and internships that build skills at working with creative teams. the common ground is storytelling, concepts, and imagination expressed through drawing and image making.

When it comes to creative solutions that impact everyday life, Industrial design is at the forefront. Whether it’s designing an inexpensive device to keep dolphins out of tuna nets or coming up with a less wasteful way to move fresh fruit to market, studying Industrial design will help you make the world a better place. You’ll learn an effective design process that includes research, 2-d and 3-d visualization (like drawing, computer-aided design, and modeling), and a thorough understanding of manufacturing, social, and environmental criteria. specialty design courses include furniture, retail, packaging, environmental graphics, displays, exhibits, and toys.

As the world continues to look for better ways for people to interact with our built environment, research, planning, design, and problem solving all come into play. the Interior design program teaches those skills through real-world exercises with simulated client goals and objectives, as well as with courses in hand sketching, computer modeling, and communication. supporting everything are a fully equipped lighting lab, an encyclopedic material samples library, and a fundamental commitment to career preparation.

Photography In today’s image-driven environment, capturing life from behind a camera can lead you almost anywhere: lighting, styling, retouching/editing, designing, illustrating, experimenting, documenting, manipulating, processing, assisting, and teaching. The Photography major will prepare you to navigate the full range of commercial and fine art photography—able to move seamlessly between cutting-edge digital tools and classic darkroom work.
