Do You Remember Last Week? It’s a couple of days ago now... The Wild West has yet again settled. The Botanical Garden almost looks the same as ever. It’s quiet now. Nothing like Wednesday night! And what a party! You guys rocked till the trees shook. We have never seen such a great audience with such a good mood. All the way around the stadium. It was amazing. We’ve got a lot of great pictures of your awesome atmosphere. This magazine will give you reports of Wednesday, and no worries… We know pictures speak a thousand words. Basically, this issue will remind you of all the great times you had Wednesday, as well as help your memory remember those embarassing moments. In the end we’ll introduce Commerciel Magazine outside of the Introduction Week - The real magazine. And remember, Commerciel Magazine features portraits of Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Peter Aalbæk this semester, so keep your eyes open and your ears out. We are looking forward to seeing you in the fall. Rusugen. Over and out. Sabrina Rønning Gade & Mikkel Svold Editors-in-Chief

“YEEEEEEEHAAAAA!” TEXT: Alexandra Bach, Maria-Louise Dueholm Mortensen

T

he Botanical Garden is filling up with Rus’ers dressed in velour cloths, linen bags and striped suits when another Western Party is kicked off. HAPPY DAYS 22 Rus-teams are entering the garden one at a time, some come crawling, some run in hordes and others simply fall on top of each other. They have one thing in common: They’re excited to get the party going. Fist pumps are flowing and knee-high dance moves are spreading across the garden as the DJ plays out danceable

beats. Volvo B18 plays and everyone’s dancing and singing along, but when this year’s Rus-song, Animals by Martin Garrix, plays through the speakers, all 2000-ish people in the garden start jumping to the beats of the song. “BACK-KICK AND THEN TURN” After an hour with a lot of team spirit, games and fun, Poul Erik Jakobsen and his three dancers take over the job from Vicky Jo who normally teaches the traditional dance at the Western Party. All the students are cheerful and ready to learn a new SUNDAY // COMMERCIEL MAGAZINE 7

dance. After every new dance move learned, students take a break with screaming out a big “cheeeeeers”. Everyone’s enthusiastic about the dance moves and they are having fun and are ready to show off the Western dance when Poul Erik plays the song “Oh Susanna” and shouts out loud the steps when students behind him show what they have learned. GREAT OPPORTUNITY Poul Erik feels that it is a pleasure to get the opportunity to teach an easy and fun dance to young people who quickly pick up the dance moves. “Everyone is doing a great job learning the new dance,” he says. Poul Erik is also very excited about how much fun and happiness there is on the sunny day at the Western Party in the Botanical Garden. “The students look really happy and the atmosphere is tremendous,” he says.

RUS STORIES

A Private Bus to the Door Step Text: Emil Outzen Photo: Alexandra Bach

A

s many students already may know, it can become quite a journey when you’re trying to make it home after a night in Klubben. Emil from BsCB and two of his friends certainly found out. But instead of giving up half way home, they managed to turn it into an epic trip Monday night. Having had a drink too much the three friends left their car untouched and slowly started to make their way towards Lystrup by foot (a mere 10 km from Klubben). On the road, they stumbled upon an empty bus. Without hesitating

they decided that public transportation would be perfect for their trip and got in. Soon they realized that the driverless vehicle wouldn’t get them much nearer Lystrup, so they headed for a nap on the soft seats instead. Naturally the bus driver walks in moments later; but instead of giving them the kickhe praised the young men’s initiative and chose to give the three tired travelers a private bus trip right to the door. “It was pretty great for a first Aarhus experience,” Emil concluded rather relieved.

Moon Light Walk Stephen Chotprom MMC ”I think it’s nice that our tutors are young just like us – it makes it easier to relate to each other. I’ve had a great time this week but missed the entire day yesterday because I spend three hours Monday night finding my way back home.

22 COMMERCIEL MAGAZINE // RUSUGEN 2013

I just moved to Aarhus and the city looked nothing like it used to in the middle of the night, so I was kind of lost during those hours. I was too tired in the morning yesterday and thought is was embarrassing being late so I came back today instead.”

In the morning the new BscB student who was staying by his uncle in Skanderborg had made his way to Copenhagen in order to take his driving test. smates, and together they finished off the day at Klubben in great fashion. Some might say that Rune ran out of luck after that. Having caught the first train for Skanderborg, he found a seat … and slowly his eyes started to betray him. What must have felt like moments later, Rune woke up at Odense railway station. After the four hour detour he returned to Skanderborg at 6 am.

Rune then returned to Aarhus to enjoy the rest of the day with his new clas-

If you have any questions about the position, you are more than welcome to contact the skiing trip coordinators via the above e-mail. AFTER PARTY

All Good Things Must Come to an End On Wednesday night, we caught Klaus Hansted and Tobias Juel Frandsen for a quick interview on how they feel the Introduction Week has been. Text: Malene Julie Kristensen

“E

verything has gone surprisingly well,“ Klaus says, and Tobias continues: “We have had very few slips, and if anything didn’t go the way we had planned, we managed to fix it so that it didn’t affect the students.” Success in Nobel Parken So all in all, the Introduction Week Coordinators feel that the Introduction Week has been successful. They especially emphasize how great the opening of the new bar at Nobelparken has been: “Klub.ling has really filled a void. The BSS students at Nobelparken have needed a place of their own to hang out, and I feel confident that Klub.ling will create cohesion at Nobelparken,” Klaus says. When talking about the opening of Klub.ling, you have to address the ventilation issues: “The problems with the ventilation will be fixed as soon as possible. It is a shame that it is not working properly, but I think the students have been really good sports. Every time, the doors were opened and the music stopped, the students would burst into sing-a-longs, like Volvo B18. The instruktors at Nobelparken were really good at making the best out of the situation. Generally, the

instructors have been really great. They deserve so much credit,” Tobias says. Helpers or Kaos Klaus and Tobias feel that it has been a strong team of instructors this year, and also, they praise the helpers: “The helpers have really made a difference. Every time there has been the slightest problem, they have been there to fix it. The Introduction Week just would not be the same without them,” Klaus says.

but it just creates the craziest atmosphere. Hearing people sing a-long to “Angel” in the end was just epic.” Back to Business On that remark, we left Klaus and Tobias. We thank them for all their hard work in coordinating the Introduction Week, and we are sure that we speak for everyone when we say: not just the iPod Battle was epic – the entire Introduction Week was epic. However, all good things must come to an end. We
