Larry passed away Saturday, November 8, 2014 in Grand Rapids. Larry was born October 27, 1957 to Lester and Barbara (Giddings) Woodward. He worked for Reynolds Metals as a tool & die maker. He loved playing and watching basketball with his son; he also had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles and the Detroit Lions. Larry was a member of Madison Square Church in Grand Rapids and was known for his big heart. Surviving are his son Brandon (Holli McNulty) Woodward of Grand Rapids; a granddaughter, Ella Woodward; his mother and step father Barbara (Vahakn) Knarian of Kalamazoo; his siblings, Lorrie Knight, Lyn Woodward, LeAnne Shelton, John Woodward, Tom Woodward, Angela Kotarski and Andrea Boelman; a special friend, Pam Leiter and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father and step mother Lester and Mary Woodward and a brother Lonnie Woodward. Funeral Services were held, Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Burial followed. Contributions in memory of Larry may be made to Mel Trotter Ministries. • When it comes to belief, we cannot have it both ways. “And this is the record, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that has the Son has eternal life; and he who has not the Son of God, has not life.” (I John 5:11, 12) • When it comes to the Bible, we cannot have it both ways. The Bible speaks of good and evil; light and darkness; sin and righteousness; truth or a lie; life and death; sheep and goats; heaven and hell; law and grace; love and hate; wise and foolish. • When it comes to Christ-like living, we cannot have it both ways. Believers are called to a higher moral standard. We are called to live IN the world without being OF the world (John l7:14-16). We are to “walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Romans 8:1). We are commanded to not allow the world to squeeze us into its mold (Romans 12:2). Each day is a day of decision. Either we can walk the narrow way which leads to eternal life or the wide way which leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13, 14). Jesus said we are either for Him or against Him (John 12:30). With Jesus Christ there is no middle ground. “No one can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24). “Straddle two horses and fall in the mud” (Russian proverb) Grey is the color of compromise. When it comes to belief in Jesus Christ, we can’t have it both ways. Prayer: Dear Lord, help us to decide for you every day. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Peace to you and please join us for worship this Sunday in a church where Jesus’ love is lived.
