Requirements for RUBBISH PICK-UP

1. All residents living on private roads must have the trash placed at the end of the road in a pile. 2. Refuse must be limited to what two men can lift. 3. Barrels with both ends cannot be picked up; land fills will not accept them. 4. All barrels, including barrels with trash in them, will be taken. Any barrel or container too heavy for two men to pick up will not be taken. 5. Trash piles should be located within easy reach from the road, not 20 to 30 feet, for the convenience of the trash haulers. 6. All objects must be bagged or put in containers that will be picked up. No loose materials will be picked up. 7. Containers must be left at curbside and they will not be returned. 8. Old appliances will be picked up if they can be lifted by two men. No refrigerators, freezers or air conditioners unless refrigerants are removed by a professional and tagged. Remember... Appliances can be recycled. 9. NO YARD WASTE! 10. NO BUILDING MATERIALS WILL BE PICKED UP 11. NO TIRES WILL BE PICKED UP 12. NO GARBAGE or container for food products will be picked up. 13. NO ROCKS, SAND, CONCRETE, RUBBLE OR DEAD ANIMALS will be picked up. 14. No motor oil or containers with liquids such as oil based and latex paint. Cans with dried paint are acceptable if lids are removed. 15. No call backs will be made if refuse is placed after the truck has serviced your house. 16. Complaints will be verified (field checked) by Township personnel and checked against driver’s log. 17. Any item not picked up because of the above reasons must be taken off the curbside and stored out of sight by noon of the day following each pick-up. 18. “WHAT CAN WE BE SURE OF?”

Dan Minor - revdminor@att.net _____________________________________ “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” I John 5:13 We live with uncertainty. This was beautifully and delightfully demonstrated in Otsego High School’s recent musical production Annie (We liked it so much we saw it two times!). The play is based on Harold Gray’s Little Orphan Annie comic strip. The play’s first scene finds the little orphan girls singing a song all of us can relate to … “It’s a Hard Knock Life!” It is the story of a fiery young orphan named Annie who must live in a pathetic orphanage run by a harsh lady named Miss Hannigan. She lives with uncertainty and her only hope is that her parents will return and reclaim her. Some imposters try to claim her. Thankfully, she is finally rescued by the love and strength of Daddy Warbucks! The point is there is a little Annie in all of us. Living in an uncertain world, we long to have someone to love us, encourage us and strengthen us. We want someone who will give us the assurance of who we are, why we are here and where we are going. Jesus came to give us just that. Through His death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus gave us some things to be sure of. Consider three of these things: 1.WHO WE ARE. When asked whether they are a believer, some may say “I hope so” or “I think so.” The good news is that we can “Know so.” The purpose of John’s account of the gospel is revealed in John 20:31 “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God.” The letter of I John was written so that we may know that we know (I John 5:l3 – see above) 2.WHY WE ARE HERE. “Whatever you do, do for the glory of God” (I Corinthians 10:31) There is nothing more fulfilling than living for a purpose. As believers our main purpose is to glorify God in all that we do. 3.WHERE WE ARE GOING. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). As believers our destination is sure. Jesus is the doorway to Heaven. And the doorway to Heaven is so wide it takes in all eternity. What greater assurance can we have than our identity in Christ, our purpose for living and our final destination?

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the blessed assurance of Your redeeming presence. Amen.

AGE 69 – ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (Formerly of Plainwell, MI) Donald passed away at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2018 after an extended illness. Donald was born June 12, 1948 in Plainwell, the son of Donald and Lillian (Earl) LaDuke. He retired from Consumers Energy in July of 2003. He is survived by his wife, Charlene and seven children. Craig LaDuke, Daniel LaDuke, Leesa (Mike) Bell, Denise (Mike) Raglon, Barbara Schuring, Scott (Darla) Stites, and Patrick (Danielle) Stites; 9 grandchildren and brothers, Ronald (Ruth Ann) LaDuke and John (Linda) LaDuke. He was preceded in death by his father Donald A. LaDuke and mother Lillian LaDuke. Memorial services will take place at a later date. AGE 34 – KALAMAZOO, MI Joseph passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home. He was born September 14, 1983 in Kalamazoo to Sheila and Joseph Lee II. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors and worked trimming and felling trees. His job and his beard made him a natural lumberjack. Joseph was a motorcycle enthusiast and a loyal Lions Football fan. His greatest joy was hanging out with his sons. He is survived by his wife Melanie who he married July 4, 2014, sons, Evin, Jacob and Corbin; mother and stepfather Sheila and Ron Russell of Scotts, Michigan, father Joseph Lee II of Allegan; siblings Devon Stewart of Kalamazoo, Josh Lee, Jessica Crisman and Jaime Caldwell all of Allegan, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is also survived by Dawn Paradise and Terry Stewart who treated him as a son. Celebration of Life service was held Thursday, April 5 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego.
