Through our communities’ giving spirit, the Postal Employees collected over 5300 pounds of food for our local food pantry and helping agency, “Christian Neighbors,” which serves those in need locally. AGE 56 – FORMERLY OF PLAINWELL Mark passed away Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mark was born October 29, 1956 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to Karen Koehn and the late Russell Koehn. Beloved father to Angi. Former husband to Betty (Bud) Koehn-Wendland. Brother to Tom Koehn, Susan (Ted) Witas and David Koehn. Uncle to Brett, Mason and Mallory. Survived also by many dearly loved family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Heritage Funeral Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

AGE 68 – COOPER TWP., MI Thomas passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Mr. Riggs was born March 20, 1945 in Detroit to Leon and Cathryn (Huey) Riggs. He had been employed with Eaton Corporation and retired from Plainwell Public Schools after many years of service. Tom loved farming, hunting, boating and camping. On June 18, 1966 in Portage he married Shirley Briggs, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters and a son, Marcia Riggs of Plainwell, Corie Riggs of Niles and Glen Riggs of Kalamazoo; a brother, Doug (Mary Ellen) Riggs of Plainwell. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday May 18, 2013 at Oak Grove Bible Church, Pastor David Ives ofﬁciating. Private burial of ashes will be at West Cooper Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Tom may be made to SPCA of SW Michigan – Rescue and Adoption Center, 6955 West KL Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Pete McCormick of Orangeville passed away May 12, 2013 at his home. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:30 on Tuesday, May 21 at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012. Pete's family includes his two children: Linda (Sid) McCormick-Tiller and Lonnie (Sherri Lee Stanton) McCormick; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sisters: Evelyn and Kathleen and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Richard, Daniel, Alford, Robert, Patrick and James. Memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Association or the American Heart Association. Surviving are her children, Joe (Marcia) Holdeman, Bill (Therese) Holdeman, Sandy (Dave) Hughes, Sharon (Ken) Faulkenstein, Debbie Moats and Chris Holdeman; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Perry Enos and Ike Enos; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barb Croy, a sister, Katherine Preston and her father. Friends and family met May 15, 2013. Cremation has taken place. AGE 74 – PLAINWELL, MI Thomas passed away Friday, May 10, 2013 in Kalamazoo. Tom was born August 1, 1938 in Kalamazoo to Charles and Hazel (Geal) Janes. He started his working career at Warren Barber Boat and Motor and had worked at Cloverleaf RV, Gull Lake Marina and other area pleasure craft dealers. Over the years Tom had worked as a photographer, mechanic, in sales, as a service manager and most recently working as a broker for 1st Choice Homes. In his leisure time Tom loved his garden tractor, plowing snow and mowing grass. Surviving are his wife, Helen and 2 sons, Rodney Gene Janes of Plainwell and Dennis Lee (fiancée Amy Schimp) Janes; granddaughters, Michelle Janes and Abigail Janes; great granddaughter, Grace Janes; a brother, Richard (Joyce) Janes of Louisiana and a step brother, James (Joyce) Kershaw; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Janes and Hazel Kershaw; stepfather, Carl Kershaw and a sister Sandy Janes. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 12 noon to 3pm at the Gun Plain Township Hall. Gary Tommy Daniel passed away Monday, April 29th, 2013 at Wings of Hope in Allegan. He was born and raised in Florence, AL, where he lived for many years until he became a resident of Michigan. Gary had many talents playing guitar and piano. He worked many years detailing cars for the Wyoming Police Dept. Gary also drove trucks for Dutler Ford, Grand Rapids, MI. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Dona Clemmons-Daniel of Florence, AL; brothers James Howard and Jerry Daniel both of Florence, AL; sisters Mary Yearkey of Dearborn, MI and Glenda Williams of Florence, AL. He is survived by his wife Alice Daniel of 24 years and daughters Kathy Daniel (fiance Marty Frank) of Florence, AL; Amy (Keith) Fuller of Otsego, MI; Donna (Donnie) Sheldon II of Pullman, MI; Tammy Cook of Grand Rapids, MI; grandkids: Robert and Makenzie Frank of Florence, AL; Keith and Landon Fuller of Otsego, MI; Danielle, Dakota, Destiney, Donnie Sheldon III of Pullman, MI; Chassity Daniel Collins Morgan and husband Richard Morgan of Florence, AL; 3 greatgrandkids: Damian Morgan, Cameron and Shilo Aderholt of Florence, AL. Raymond ‘Ray’ E. BROWN AGE 81 – OTSEGO, MI

Ray passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his home. Mr. Brown was born April 12, 1932 in Watson Twp., Allegan Co., the son of Leonard and Hazel (Van Houten) Brown. He had worked as a veterinarian assistant for Town & Country Veterinarian Clinic in Allegan, retiring in 2004. Ray also trained harness horses and working with horses was a passion of his. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and Michigan Harness Horse Association and he enjoyed the outdoors, feeding birds, hunting, flower gardening and his dog Maggie. On December 7, 1951, he married the former Marilynn Lacey, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Raymond (Charlene) Brown of Otsego, Leonard (Terri) Brown of Adrian, Edward (Penny) Brown of Otsego, Cindy (Dennis) Burnham of Kalamazoo, Wendy Evans of Gobles, and Robert (Stephanie) Brown of Otsego; 12 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; his siblings, Joyce (Al) Kolbeck, June McEwen, Neva Wallace, Helen Wallace and a sister-in-law, Jean Brown; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Bethel Parker, a brother, Bernard Brown, a sister, Jean Blair and a son-in-law, Michael Evans. Services will be held Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego Rev. James Collison officiating. Interment at Hicks Cemetery, Watson Twp.
