If the word “never theless” mar ks the transition to something new, the above verse is the ultimate never theless What did Jesus say about eter nal life? The Bible tells us all we need to know about Heaven:

The Way to Heaven is through Jesus Chr ist (John 10:9, 14:6)

Eter nal life is God’s promise to ever y believer (John 3:16)

Ear th is not our home (Psalm 119:9; Hebrews 11:13-16)

The believer’s citizenship is in heaven and our bodies will be transfor med in the likeness of our Lord’s body (Philippians 3:20-21)

Heaven is beyond our imagination (I Cor inthians 2:9)

Heaven is a home with many rooms (John 14:2) Jesus has gone before us to prepare a place for us (John 14:2)

In Heaven there will be no more death, sorrow or pain Best of all, we will be with Jesus (Matthew 5:16; Revelation 21:1-4)

When we pass, we will go immediately into the presence of Jesus (2 Cor inthians 5:8, Luke 23:43) Heaven is the believer’s inher itance (I Peter 1:4) and a place for rewards (Matthew 5:12)

There are 12 gates opening in ever y direction and through those gates multitudes beyond number will stream through them (Revelation 12:12, 13)

“ behold, a throne was set in Heaven, and one sat on the throne and there was a rainbow around the throne ” A

Years ago, when I was in seminary, I felt compelled to pray for my sister During the prayer, I strongly sensed that god was nudging me to write her a letter He wanted me to tell her, “Jesus is the Mr right you are searching for He will never dump, divorce, reject, or abandon you You are the apple of his eye ”

My sister has been hurt and disappointed by men too often She went through a divorce about ten years into her first marriage and had been, as the Johnny lee song says, “looking for love in all the wrong places” ever since then the pain caused her to have a tough exterior I had told her many times about the love of Jesus for her But at some point she said to me something like You can shut up about Jesus I’m glad the Jesus thing helped you, but it’s not for me ” Well, the nudge from god to send the letter to my sister was so strong, I sent it A few days after I sent the letter, I received a call from my sister She was crying and said words I never thought I’d hear from her “I need Mr right, I need Jesus ” My “tough as nails” sister opened her heart to receive the love of Jesus If you knew my sister, you’d know what a miracle that was Here’s how it happened In between the sending of my letter and her receiving my letter, her boyfriend broke up with her She was raw and vulnerable My letter hit her at just the right time when the door of her heart opened up just a crack to let the love of Jesus in If I wasn’t praying, I would not have felt the nudge of god to send the letter that brought incredible peace and hope to my sister In luke 18:1, we read: then Jesus told his disciples a parable that they should always pray and not give up ” Maybe you have been praying for a friend or family member for a long time and god is seemingly silent Keep praying and stay open to the miraculous power of god that comes through prayer Who knows, he might even nudge you to be a part of His answer to your prayers
