Janet Wilson

“I can’t believe that I actually am running a business, it feels good to be my own boss!” This spring, the Monroe street corridor of antique and second hand shops welcomed a new addition: Hydrangea Thrift Store Etc. The owner, Janet Wilson, had a dream to own her own thrift shop business, and in the Fall of 2016 she enrolled in CWCE’s Small Business Boot Camp. Small Business Boot Camp is an accelerated program that enables students to take the next step in launching their small business. Classes are held three times a year, in 8-week sessions, conveniently scheduled in the evenings.

“I had been thinking about starting my own boutique thrift store for years” said Wilson. “The Small Business Boot Camp course helped me keep focused on the many things I needed to do to see my dream realized.” Hydrangea Thrift Store etc. is not just a thrift shop, but a consignment “for women who don’t have time to have a garage sale or sell online.” The shop is clean, organized, and full of trendy and desirable items looking for a new home. Clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry as well as dinnerware, linens, artwork, furniture, and decor ‘with character’ are available to buy or sell.

Hydrangea Thrift Store Etc. is located at 2315 N Monroe Open Tuesday-Friday from 10:00am-5:00pm Monday & Saturday 11:00am-5:00pm. For more information about how Small Business Boot Camp can help to make your dreams a reality, please contact the CWCE program assistant at 509-533-8482 or ce@ccs.spokane.edu For registration information see page 24
