Student Feature! My daughter and I moved to Colville a year ago in search of a better life. I was a full-time student and mother, and I hadn’t worked since my daughter was born. The move was a relief, but scary. I applied for jobs, but my lack of having a job for a few years was a problem. My Workfirst manager told me about the SCC Phlebotomy program in Colville. I jumped at the opportunity, and I was so excited when I was called from the waiting list to attend. The course was intense, but I was determined to do my

I feel so blessed to have such an awesome opportunity. I enjoy working for the Stevens County Ministry. Health & Medical 75-Hour Home Care Aide Certification

CPR Skills Check off

Obtain your HCA in 75 hours of on-ground training. Training will provide DSHS certifications in dementia care, mental health care, navigating challenging behaviors, and traumatic brain injury. This training is the minimum requirement for employment with home care agencies, assisted living facilities, adult family home caregivers and owners, individual state contracted personal care workers, group homes, and any other direct care workers providing home or community-based services to the elderly or people with functional or developmental disabilities. Take this course for $449 without application or testing fee included, or take the course for $670 with application and testing fee included. M. Smith

This class is the skills check off for the American Heart Association. In order to enroll, participants must have completed the CE Online component and provide printed certificate of completion. Class includes guided instruction in skills performance and time to practice for skills check off for: one and two person adult and infant CPR, adult CPR with AED and bag mask, and adult and infant choking. DSHS Residential Care Adult Family Home Orientation This one-day class provides an overview of the AFH program and expectations of the AFH licensee in providing care and services to the residents in a licensed home setting, as well as a brief overview of the process prospective providers will follow in obtaining an AFH license. IV Therapy training generally involves completion of classroom work and at least one clinical shift at a hospital. This class would give community people, 18 years and older, access to the swimming pool during open swim hours. Guts, Grace, and Glory! Learn to perform flips, spins, and the art of diving. This course is designed to provide instruction on the sport of Diving. Withdrawals and refunds

Class Cancellations

If you register for a class and cannot attend, please call in advance to cancel. This makes it possible for another student to enroll. Students are responsible for initiating the paperwork for withdrawal and refund requests. A $7 processing fee is deducted from the refund amount. All refunds require at least two weeks for processing. The following policies apply whether a student attends class or not.

All class offerings are subject to change. Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) cannot guarantee class offerings, designated times or specific instructor. CCS reserves the right to cancel any continuing education class and may reduce class hours or cancel classes due to low enrollment. Fees for classes cancelled by CCS will be refunded automatically. Some class enrollments are limited due to space and equipment.

• 100% refund for classes and workshops cancelled by the college.

Disability Support Services

• Student-initiated withdrawals must occur three business days prior to the first day of class (including online classes) and are subject to the $7 processing fee. • No refund granted two business days or less prior to the start of a class. A business day is 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
