Lino Martinez, a former Illinois Hall of Fame wrestling coach, is co-head coach for the Eagles. Assistant coaches are Steve Bilik, Jim Pinter, Kevin Pinter, Al Town and Dave Write.

Kids club is the future Pinter is hoping that a season’s worth of experience and some depth will translate into success on the mats this season, but he knows the future of the program is the Kids Club.

“We plug in God to everything we do with devotions and prayer time,” Pinter said. “Parents see wrestling as something that’s good for physical and mental growth, but we’re adding a spiritual growth emphasis to it as well. That’s our focus.”

The Bowl-A-Thon will take place at Guttormsen Recreation Center (GRC) in Kenosha. GOLF UW-Parkside UW-Parkside golf coach Mark Olsen has released information for his 2012 Winter Golf Clinic. The program will hold four, 45-minute group lessons Feb. 7-10. Olsen will lead the staff along with members of the UW-Parkside golf team and guest PGA professionals. There are three separate sessions on those days at 5:30, 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. in the DeSimone Gymnasium. The cost for one session (four, 45-minute lessons) is $60. Rangers sweep Coaches versus Cancer Classic The second half was key in each of UW-Parkside’s men’s basketball games in the Coaches versus Cancer Classic at the DeSimone Gymnasium. On Nov. 18, the Rangers outscored Saginaw Valley State, 55-41, in the second half to pull away from the Cardinals and score an 83-68 victory. A 13-0 run sparked the victors. The following day, UWP was down by Leneal Harris keyed 13 points early in the second half to a second-half spurt in the Rangers’ win Northwood, before making a feroover Saginaw Valcious comeback in beating the Timley State. berwolves, 71-70. Rangers cruise to victory over Saginaw Valley State The UW-Parkside women’s basketball team overcame a sloppy start to defeat the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, 67-50, Nov. 19 at the DeSimone Gymnasium. The Rangers improved their record to 2-1 on the year. This win for the Rangers marks their 20th straight at home and improves their record to 35-1 in their last 36 home games.

Jadee Rooney drained five threepointers against Saginaw Valley State. Kaitlyn Bettiga had 13 points and six assists in the home opener.

Hope Christie earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division II national cross country meet in Spokane, Washingon, Nov. 19. Christie finished the 6K course in 22:13, good for 35th place. U10 Misfits FC defeats U10 Storm FC The U10 Misfits played a solid game in defeating the U10 Storm FC by an 8-5 margin on Nov. 17 at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha. Both teams came out playing a strong, fast-paced game, but it was the Misfits who struck first. They were able to jump out to a quick lead with a strong offensive attack. The Storm made a strong Marty Harrington switches push to get back into the game fields. early in the second half. Despite their best efforts, the early lead was too much for the Storm as the Misfits held on for the victory.

Eagles One celebrates a win over Eagles Two 7-0 As Christian Life works toward building and developing a successful soccer program, it has multiple teams working on their skills at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha. On Nov. 20, two of the teams battled each other with Eagles One defeating the Eagles Two by a 6-0 margin. It was a great environment to work on soccer Running after the loose ball skills and have fun at the same time. This was a low pressure environment where the kids could also work on their fitness.
