This Week’s Highlights… Adults head indoors for soccer . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4-5 Kids shouldn’t have all the fun. That’s why Sports 21 launched the Adult Indoor Soccer League. Featuring approximately 160 players in the fall season, the league plays its games on Sunday mornings and afternoons at the state-of-the-art indoor soccer field at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha. The league will wrap up its fall season in early November and begin its winter campaign in midNovember.
Photos worth a thousand words . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 9-13 Coaches, friends, fans, parents and other family members continue to contribute striking action photos to KSN @Play. In this edition of the weekly digital magazine, images include athletic events contested on soccer, football and baseball fields, volleyball courts and cross-country courses.

Six soccer organizations and one baseball league make up the clubs and leagues that are highlighted in this week’s edition of KSN @Play. These organizations include the ACE Soccer Club, the Kenosha Area Soccer League, United FC, Kenosha Crew, Racine United, Sports 21 and Little Leaguers of Kenosha.

Many who love the game are not skilled enough to play at the collegiate level, but even for those who are, college soccer is most likely the end of the line in terms of playing the game they grew up with. Indoor soccer may not be an exact replication of the much more heralded outdoor game, but the indoor version of the world’s most popular sport has become the perfect fit for those who now have the opportunity to suit up once again. The league was able to come together due to the new state-of-theart facility at the Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha, located at 1330 52nd St. A total of 16 teams compete every Sunday morning and afternoon.

the winter campaign is conducted from mid-November to early February and the spring season runs from mid-February to April. Those who step on the indoor field come from outside Kenosha as well. Many players reside in neighboring Waukegan and Racine.
Most of the teams have been together for years, playing outside of Kenosha in the seven-on-seven indoor format. Still, individuals can find their way onto a team simply by showing up at the facility on game day, or contacting Jeff Reget at 262-818-1502. Teams in the league range from those recreational in nature to those that are highly competitive.
“One of the reasons people come from other areas is because the facility is just incredible,” reasoned Toscano. “People were looking for places to play and they found this. They are really enjoying themselves.” Locally, the RecPlex used to operate indoor soccer leagues; however, those leagues were confined to a basketball court, on a Action gets fast and furious on Sundays.
