EIC Successfully Showcases at SXSW
The program included pitching sessions, a global panel and an award ceremony
South by Southwest interactive festival was held in Austin, Texas. Professors, researchers, and university deans participated in numerous activities at Casa Mexico. Dean Manuel Zertuche took part of the “Global Opportunities and Challenges in Tecnology Entrepreneurship Perspective From UT Austin & Tecnológico de Monterrey.” At the same forum, Wearobot, Ernesto Rodriguez startup was recognized in the MIT Hacking Medicine Barracuda Bowl Startup Pitch Fest. EIC Professor Receives “Mujer Tec 2016” Science and Technology Award
The fourth edition of the event recognized the work of Mexican women in eight categories Mirna Gonzalez was awarded for her research in the development of non conventional platforms for the stem cell recovery for treatment for diseases that have no cure. “I advise young scientists that love research to keep going and to remember that we help each other” said Gonzalez. The recipients of the Science and Technology category award are prominent women in research of their area of knowledge or in topics that include women, equality or equity. Secretary of Economic Development of Nuevo Leon Visits EIC
Fernando Turner paid a visit to research centers and laboratories, where he showed interest in research projects
Fernando Turner took advantage of his visit to get to know Distrito Tec projects, as well as EIC capabilities and facilities. The Secretary of Economic Development of Nuevo Leon was pleasantly surprised by the presentations of the Centro de Biotecnología FEMSA, Centro de Investigación y Desarrollo de Proteínas, Centro del Agua para América Latina y el Caribe, Centro de Innovación en Diseño y Tecnología, as well as the Microfluidic Laboratory, and National Robotics Laboratory CONACYT.
