Workshop Enriches His Medical Device Design able to participate in the implementation “ Being of different devices, like solar cells, enhanced my knowledge ” Rafael Mendoza, graduate student of the PhD in Science of Engineering (DCI) decided to submit his research project after talking about the workshop at the MIT with his advisor, Dr. Rogelio Soto. As part of his research project, Mendoza is designing an Active Ankle joint support that corrects the orientation with respect to the ground and patient’s posture. “I’ll incorporate the acquired knowledge in the design of pressure sensors, force sensors and deformation,” mentioned Mendoza “this can be applied to the Wearable Robotics area in the user’s detection.” His research about exoskeleton control systems focuses in improving the way the user interacts with robotic systems.

Successful First Edition of “MIT Day at Tecnológico de Monterrey: Sensors and Actuators” With this activity we were able to “identify specific projects, generate

joint research proposals for fund attraction, student and professor’s mobility, and specifically, to transfer these results for the benefit of society

Undergraduate Students Attend Workshop at MTL This year is the second edition of the Summer Research Stay for undergraduate students. The stay is at Microsystems Technologies Laboratories (MTL) in the MIT. The stay is part of the syllabus of the “Micro and Nanofabrication Techniques” course. The course carries credits for the student’s degrees. The evaluation committee received up to 300 applications. 16 students from different campus where selected. The MTL website published the news: http://goo.gl/bo0k0z

The workshop’s main goal was to bring together MIT and Tec de Monterrey research groups. The main topic of the event was “Sensors and Actuators.” The first part of the workshop was dedicated to brief presentations by professors, in order to get to know their research fields and interests. In the afternoon, the parallel workshops produced synergies and joint project proposals.
