EIC Professor Has an Outstanding Performance at the University of Manchester

The School of Engineering and Sciences Professor has a sabbatical stay at the University of Manchester, ranked as one of the top 30 in the world. Marisela Rodríguez is developing a project on technological innovation trends on 3D Bioprinting supported by CONACyT. “My goal is to determine about the world trends in 3D Bioprinting for medical applications and to get to share this knowledge” mentioned Marisela Rodríguez. The professor has had a very active participation: she gave classes to undergraduate and graduate students, co-advised thesis, participated in congresses, published papers, attracted talent to Tecnológico de Monterrey, and built a collaboration net. During her stay she presented a proposal on competitive intelligence of an adaptive software to the Newton Fund. While being in the UK, the CIDyT researcher has participated in Semana i, with graduate students, and received a recognition for her active enrollment with Tec’s library.

Tecnológico de Monterrey “ positions itself as an institution

that organizes dissemination of results activities

Marisela Rodríguez is the first Latin American Professor admitted to the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research.

been a Tec ambassador “ I have in the Institute, and have strengthened the collaboration networks with other countries such as Spain and Sweden during my sabbatical period in the UK

Dragos Axinte attends Andres Gameros final examination on May 3rd.

This is the third time I visit Tecnológico de Monterrey. I decided to co-advice Andres due to his enthusiasm for research

Andres Gameros presented his final examination for his PhD in Engineering Sciences (DCI). His advisors and professors of the School of Engineering and Sciences also attended. Dragos Axinte is the Director of The Rolls-Royce UTC in Manufacturing and On-Wing Technology of the University of Nottingham. He co-adviced the thesis “Experimental and Numerical Study on High Precision Fixturing Systems for Complex Geometry and Low Stiffnes Component”, in collaboration with Dr. Héctor Siller. "I interviewed Andres before deciding on being his advisor. He answered my exams and tests" said Axinte. "After that we began to work together." Andres Gameros is now working in the Rolls Royce centre as a postdoc under the supervision of Prof. Axinte.

The event was held on May 30th and 31st at Guadalajara Campus.

The "International Virtual Concept Workshop" focused on "Data Science and Intelligent Transport Systems." Ruben Morales was the National Director of the event, while Gildardo Sanchez participated as the Local Director. The attendees presented and dialogued about their research during the two-day workshop. "School of Engineering and Sciences' researchers, students, and postdocts attended" said Gildardo Sanchez. "Researchers of other universities and industry experts participated as well." The organizing committee noticed that there was an active participation. Along the eight thematic sessions, attendees with different backgrounds share their thoughts. "These activities enrich our research work, therefore, our results will be better" concluded Sanchez.
