MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA CABERNET SAUVIGNON FEATURED IN THE ENGLISH PRESS JAMIE GOODE, SUNDAY TIMES WINE COLUMNIST AND AUTHOR OF SEVERAL BOOKS ON WINE, PRAISED THE 2014 MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA CABERNET SAUVIGNON, HIGHLIGHTING WINEMAKER MARCELO PAPA’S WORK WITH THE LINE. Jamie Goode, one of England’s most highly regarded wine writers, live streamed a video tasting on his blog, wineanorak.com, in which he emphasized the fresh and fruity character of the 2014 Marques de Casa Concha Cabernet Sauvignon. In the video, Goode drew attention to elements that winemaker Marcelo Papa has incorporated into the wine, such as earlier harvesting—the grapes are picked up to a month before what was usual for the variety 3 or 4 years ago—a reduction in new barrels, and the use of foudres, which together have allowed him to obtain juicier and more elegant wines—a trend that is reinvigorating the wine scene in Chile, much to the English wine writer’s delight.
