ISABEL MITARAKIS SUCCESSFULLY TOURS ASIA FROM JUNE 26 TO JULY 8, WINEMAKER ISABEL MITARAKIS TOURED MAJOR ASIAN CITIES WHERE SHE PARTICIPATED IN ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE DON MELCHOR.
Winemaker Isabel Mitarakis recently toured China, Vietnam, and Singapore, where she focused on promoting the latest vintages of Don Melchor. She began in Shanghai, where she visited many of the brand’s major clients, got to know the local market, and tasted some vintages of Chile’s best-known Cabernet Sauvignon. She also had the opportunity to present the 2013 vintage in Chengdu, where she held training sessions with the commercial team, led tastings with customers, and participated in a pairing dinner with the 2009 and 2011 vintages of Don Melchor. After giving a Master Class with Don Melchor 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 in the city of Chongqing, Isabel traveled to Vietnam for activities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. She led multiple training sessions for
members of the trade in each city, met with customers and sommeliers, and participated in a wine dinner with the 1988, 1990, 2007, 2011, and 2012 vintages of Chile’s icon Cabernet Sauvignon. Isabel wrapped up her tour in Singapore, where she met with Concha y Toro’s commercial team, enjoyed a lunch with renowned local sommeliers, and offered two Master Classes to present the 2013 vintage of Don Melchor to members of the on-trade, as well as some activities with important local distributors that enabled her to talk about the vast qualities of this Cabernet Sauvignon in one of the brand’s most important Asian markets.

JEANNIE CHO LEE NAMES CARMÍN DE PEUMO THE WORLD’S BEST CARMENERE THE INFLUENTIAL ASIAN CRITIC BESTOWED THE HIGHEST SCORE UPON THE 2012 CARMÍN DE PEUMO AND NAMED TWO OF ITS VINTAGES AMONG THE TOP 10 CARMENERES OF THE WORLD.
Jeannie Cho Lee MW, one of Asia’s most respected and influential journalists, recently published an article on Chilean Carmenere in which she underscored the 2012 Carmín de Peumo with an extraordinary 94 points, making it the top Carmenere in the publication. She also gave the 2013 vintage of this Concha y Toro icon 93 points, positioning both wines among the Top 10 Carmeneres of the world.
Made by the talented winemaker Ignacio Recabarren, Carmín de Peumo comes from Block 32 of the Peumo Vineyard in the Cachapoal Valley, and the wine has been consistently singled out by major media around the world, thereby affirming its undisputable place as the best Carmenere in Chile and the world.

TERRUNYO CABERNET SAUVIGNON LOT Nº1 2014 EARNS A GOLD MEDAL IN IMPORTANT ENGLISH COMPETITION THE WINE, MADE BY WINEMAKER IGNACIO RECABARREN, EARNED THE MAXIMUM DISTINCTION IN THE CABERNET SAUVIGNON MASTERS COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY THE BRITISH MAGAZINE THE DRINKS BUSINESS. The 2016 version of the Cabernet Sauvignon Masters competition, organized annually by The Drinks Business, awarded a gold medal to the 2014 Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon Lot Nº1. The panel of judges, composed of Master Sommeliers and Masters of Wine, including the magazine’s editor Patrick Schmitt, praised the tremendous balance great expression of terroir found in the Chilean Cabernet Sauvignons, determining that the 2014 Terrunyo Cabernet Sauvignon Lot Nº1 is one of the most faithful examples of the variety through a fresh, juicy, and expressive Cabernet Sauvignon with a clear sense of origin.

MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA, BEST CARMENERE OF CHILE 2014 VINTAGE WINE SPECTATOR GRANTED 90 POINTS TO THE 2014 MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA CARMENERE, MAKING IT CHILE’S HIGHEST RANKED 2014 CARMENERE TO DATE.
The US magazine Wine Spectator granted the line’s Carmenere 90 points, placing it at the top of the list of 2014 Carmeneres from Chile. It was also listed as a “Smart Buy” and considered one of Chile’s most noteworthy wines in a recent article by critic Kim Marcus that included the magazine’s editors’ top picks.

17 POINTS FOR MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA CHARDONNAY 2015 ON JANCISROBINSON.COM THE 2015 MARQUES DE CASA CONCHA CHARDONNAY WAS SINGLED OUT ON ENGLISH WINE CRITIC JANCIS ROBINSON’S INFLUENTIAL WEB SITE, WHERE IT RECEIVED 17 POINTS AND MENTION OF THE WORK THE BRAND IS DOING IN THE LIMARÍ VALLEY. Richard Hemming MW, one of the primary writers for JancisRobinson.com, published an article in which he gave the 2015 Chardonnay from Marques de Casa Concha 17 points and highlighted the work that winemaker Marcelo Papa is doing in the Limarí Valley. Hemming, who met with Marcelo Papa during the winemaker’s recent visit to London, called the Quebrada Seca Vineyard one of Chile’s best origins for growing Chardonnay and also said he considered Marcelo Papa to be one of wine's most enlightening personalities.
