Brief Description BT Sport / BT.com sell their advertising space through an agency called Ad2One. Ad2One commissioned me to create a media pack containing infographics to show their potential clients what kind of exposure they would receive if they chose to advertise on BT’s websites. This meant that my target audience were sales representatives of their respective company. Knowing this, I had to structure my information and statistics in such a way that the important facts and figures were easily noticed and remembered.
Research/Inspiration
Development As I started to design, I experimented with the different BT colours and icons to try and find a combination that would make for strong infographics. Constant communication with the client was essential during this brief because there were changes and adjustments that needed to be made regularly. A real turning point within my brief was when the boss emailed me saying he thought the icons were a strong way of making the information simpler and more understandable as they were synonymous with the way BT portray their information.
Final Outcomes
These are 4 slides out of 18.
Evaluation I learnt 2 key concepts while doing this brief: Communication is key. I had to keep in touch with the client every day, constantly sending them screenshots of my progression to make regular amends. This helped me understand the efficiency and timing that goes on in the industry. It helped me manage my time a lot more as I knew how much work I would need to get done before I sent the next batch off to the client for more amendments. Designing for the client restriction At various point of this brief I wanted to add my own imagery, icons and text. But when a client is paying you, you design the way they want it designed. This type of designing actually adds an element of simplicity to it, as you work within parameters.
