I want you all to imagine the world you want to live in, and how do you envision your future? We have some great articles this month that may help you with visualizations, as well as sticking to your New Year’s resolutions! I want to empower every one of you to grab what was impossible in 2016, and make it possible in 2017!
I see Conscious Community Magazine as an inspiring publication that helps readers to realize that each of us has the potential to change the world. We all have gifts and talents that make us unique individuals, and by sharing and collaboration we can make this world a more peaceful and conscious place to live.

As we enter into another year of publication, this is what I envision for our magazine and our beloved community. I would love for Conscious Community Magazine to be a national magazine in print and online, with a great and varied source of usable information. I want to organize Conscious Connections Conferences in many languages, to create a Conscious Community radio show (February 2017) where I will gather the best speakers that inspire and empower people to dream big, and make those dreams a reality! I also envision us on TV, where we discuss the latest topics of consciousness, spirituality, alternative medicine, wellness, health, happiness, healing, etc. I want this magazine to be an empowering publication, that gives you wings to fly to places that you always dreamed of. This magazine is full of abundance and prosperity for everyone who reads it; I envision this magazine as engaging and connecting with people. This community is full of love and compassion. Conscious Community Magazine is a source of information for all who are stepping out on a new, enlightened path, and for those who are already on their spiritual path. It is also a resource for alternative medicine and health information, among many other topics. Clairvoyant Reading as a Healing Art by Anna Anthony Anna Anthony: Sava, when did you first realize that you were a gifted clairvoyant? Sava Wolf: I am also an artist, so for the longest time I just thought I had a lot of artistic pictures in my mind. I’ve spent a lot of my life drawing pictures. I would meet people and immediately hear and know a story about them; and would also see pictures of the situation or story. I wasn’t sure if it was imagination, or just artistic temperament. About four years ago a good friend of mine was a clairaudient who was very connected with her angels. She invited me to an event at InVision (invisionpsychic.com), and this is where I learned that I was clairvoyant. I felt intuition leading me to take training classes. After school I wanted to be an astrologist, art therapist, or even a psychologist. I had already completed so much schooling, and had plans 12

to continue on the path of a six-year degree plan from the Art Institute of Chicago. I had no intentions to work as a clairvoyant. I just thought I would do this for self-healing. I was doing readings and energy healing for fun, and then my business began to grow organically and rapidly. I ended up having an issue at work that caused me to abruptly change my path, and it all happened really fast. During the first few months I ended up working for psychic hotlines. I still work for a few during the busy times of the year. AA: I have had the privilege to receive one of your readings, and I find the process very unique! I really appreciate how you go thru the layers of the aura and break things down on each level. What should a new client expect from a first time reading with you?
SW: I do energy work where I use my clairvoyance to look at your chakras on each layer and move energies out that have stagnated. I use a variety of colors and qualities of energy. I usually work with gold and violet flame, and platinum is a great energy for protection. As I look at the different layers of the aura and the psychic anatomy, I see different pictures. At times I almost feel like I’m detailing a car. Many clients refer to my readings as a “clearing.” There are so many variations. I can do a woman’s reading that focuses on the female creative force, karmic readings to see what old karma is in your space that is affecting you right now, and past life readings informing you of past lives that might also be affecting your current situation. Many times, past life issues will come up in any type of reading, as it is important that you receive this information. You might have stuck energy, and there might be valuable wisdom from that life that you might need to know about now. AA: I feel that your art background really comes thru when you’re giving readings. You paint very vivid pictures for your clients, and give some very colorful picture analogies. SW: I really enjoy it as an art! You have this big palette and there are all of these colors and materials to work with! I want people to feel inspired, and in a state of euphoria after working with them. I want to help them get in touch with their own truth. A clairvoyant reading is a healing art. As I am looking at the energy and homing in on different things, I can help people get closure, which can be very healing for them. When you get clarity, you can start to do your own healing.
infuse a room. I listen to a lot of different frequency music such as Tibetan singing bowls, and often listen to the frequencies of 285, 528, and 639. I play it while I am sleeping. I try to do yoga at least three times per week. I learned in Kundalini that when strengthening your core, you become more rooted, and less likely to be pulled off your path. This was a profound lesson for me. I use meditation and mantras, and drink a lot of tea daily. I also love incense, and prefer to use incense from India when possible. I like nag champa, frankincense, myrrh, jasmine, and violet. AA: You teach a clairvoyance class, and I know many of our readers would be interested in this, as individuals or for their vocations. Please tell us more about this. SW: Yes, I like to teach others to “see” for themselves. When people find out that you are a clairvoyant, they give you so much power and act as if you are the only one who can do this. I believe that we are all capable in some capacity and it is empowering. I think about the story of the Tower of Babel, and I always think that clairvoyance and intuition are how we must communicate after that event. It is the universal language. Anna J. Anna studies the art of tarot, the paranormal, and is curious about various forms of consciousness and spreading light and magic to others.
AA: What have been some lessons you have learned along your path that you would like to share with others? SW: I started out so empathetic! I wanted to help and heal everyone! One of the most important things I learned in this line of work is that in order to be really good reader, you have to get out of that empathetic space and be in neutrality, where you are not wanting to empathize with your heart, you are just wanting to give them a clear picture of the situation and what would be the best possible course for them. AA: What do you love most about your job? SW: People are very interesting! When you get to someone’s core, you never say this person is boring, or this situation is boring. It really makes you appreciate and love people even more, because you realize this person is so interesting and there are so many layers to them! In our society, it is so common to take people at face value and by their first impression, but really everyone has something interesting about themselves to offer. AA: What are some self-care activities that you do to ensure that you are always putting your best self forward? SW: I am certified in reiki and have completed my mastership. I use reiki often. INFINITY FOUNDATION New Building Ribbon Cutting by Theresa Puskar
During my early days at NightingaleConant Corporation, I held the position of Director of Coaching Programs. At that time, I had the pleasure of touching base with the fou nder and Executive Director of Infinity Foundation, Nancy Grace Marder. I recently had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Nancy once again at a ribbon cutting ceremony at their new building in Highland Park. The ceremony was a wonderful celebration, and a testament to the strength and commitment of the Infinity Foundation community. After a dedication and welcoming statement from Frank Scaletta, shamanic practitioner Kathleen Rude opened sacred space with a Calling in the Seven Directions Ceremony. This practice is an earth honoring tradition that creates a safe and sacred space that is supported by Mother Earth and her powerful animal spirits. Kathleen’s pure spirit is felt the moment you lay eyes on her. The rites 14

and drumming that she shared were powerful, and really set the stage for the rest of the evening’s events. Local intuitive and metaphysical teacher Mel Doerr followed by sharing a delightful Hawaiian Blessing for Sacredness with the group. “This community provides me with sustenance. I have developed right relationships here. My heart reaches out to new people so that all can experience it as I have.” — Savita For those of you who may not be familiar with the Infinity Foundation, Nancy Grace Marder founded it 20 years ago. Providing Courses For Life,SM it is a “not-for-profit nonsectarian educational organization dedicated to assisting in the evolvement of human expression through its offerings of classes, workshops, retreats, conferences, services, and research.” Throughout the years the foundation has hosted a plethora of

exceptional workshops, led by many of the most sought-after spiritual authors and metaphysical teachers of our time. While I was aware of the exceptional lineup of inspirational speakers and teachers that were featured at the foundation, I had no idea of the depth of community connection that it offers Chicagoland spiritual seekers as well. “Here at Infinity Foundation, I experience a grounding of heaven on earth.” — Paula At one point in the ceremony, attendees were asked to introduce themselves and share their connection to Infinity Foundation. One by one, they described what the foundation meant to them. I soon realized that this was no ordinary community. I was deeply moved by the stories members of the community shared as they spoke about their feelings of acceptance and belonging. While the spiritual rites shared by
Kathleen and Mel rooted us all, the sharing that each participant expressed raised the energy of the room through the roof! It has been a supportive refuge, a safe place for me to come and not worry about being judged.” — Anonymous In my opinion, the highlight of the evening came when Nancy Grace’s mother, Lyla Marder, spoke. Her words were a powerful testament to the work that Nancy Grace has done. With great grace, dignity, and an opened heart, she stated, “It is a joy having my daughter as my mother. My consciousness has become enormous. I can become a child again. I am so grateful!” At that point in the evening I felt my heart open wide (and it was already pretty wide open with the previous testimonials and rituals). The deep love, admiration, and respect that Lyla expressed towards her daughter and the center that she created was awe inspiring. I will never forget her words or the sentiment behind them. I can only hope that my mother, and all mothers, can at some point in their lives share such rich and heartfelt sen-
timents towards each and every child of the world – old and young. In fact, as a mother, I do not want to wait until my daughter is so very accomplished. Why not join me in sharing our pride in our children now? The night’s celebration ended with a lovely ballad that was sung by vocalist Anitra Griffin, accompanied by violinist Stephanie Meis. This truly was a night full of celebration, inspiration, and merriment. Speaking with many members of the community as the event came to a close, I was again struck by their enthusiasm. UNEXPECTED HEROES AMONG US by Joyce and Barry Vissell
In 1960, I was 14 years old, and my mother was the first civil rights activist that I knew. She did not march in the streets; she lived her beliefs. She had blacks, Muslims, gays and other minorities over to our house for dinner almost every Sunday. She treated them all with the greatest respect and honor like they were part of her family. She also spoke up loudly if anyone said anything against any of these minorities. She often coached me, “Joyce, remember that every person is a child of God. It doesn’t matter what their skin color is, or their religion. Our God loves them all the same.” This love of humanity and human rights is something that my mother passed on to me, one of the many gifts I’ve received being her daughter; in this way, she was one of my heroes. 16

This same year, there was a crisis for one of my uncles. He and his family lived close to us in Buffalo, New York, in a quiet, simple, middle-class neighborhood. He learned that a black family was going to move into the neighborhood, about 10 houses down from his house. My uncle was livid, and complained bitterly to anyone who would listen. He felt it would ruin his neighborhood, and make it unsafe for his children, as well as bring down the value of his home. He spent great time and effort visiting every single neighbor, and explaining the terrible result that would happen if this family moved in. He gathered signatures, and if a neighbor did not want to sign his petition, he repeatedly went back to that house until they did sign.
After much time and effort, he was ready to go the house of this black family and give them the petition. He got dressed in a suit and tie, and armed with pages of signatures, went to the house and rang the bell. A very large, powerfully-built black man answered the door. My uncle quickly hid the petition behind his back, and held out his hand to welcome the man. You see, this man was my uncle’s hero on the Buffalo Bills’ football team. Several years ago, at our Hawaii couples retreat, there was a man, who I will call Joe, who looked with disdain at the local people who lived in the area. Joe was a CEO of a large company on the mainland, described himself often as “a very important man,” and felt that these “hippies” were lazy and worthless. Many of these locals had long unruly hair, colorful clothing, and were typically gathered at the beach drumming, dancing, juggling, or fire spinning. Joe spoke often about how much he disliked them, even though he hardly ever saw them, and had no idea what they did when they weren’t at the beach. One day Joe went to the beach alone without any of our group with him. There’s a steep trail that must be climbed down to get to the beach. It’s not necessarily dangerous, but one must be careful. When it was time for Joe to leave the beach, he started climbing the trail, but slipped and fell, dislocating his knee. Joe lay there helpless and in enormous pain. Very soon, one of these “good-for-nothing locals” spotted him lying there in pain and ran to help. When this long-haired young man discovered the extent of Joe’s injury, he ran to get some friends, and together the men carried him all the way to the top of the cliff, which is quite a journey, especially carrying someone in pain. They put Joe in a car and drove him all the way back to the retreat center, helped him into his bed, and then notified the retreat center that he was hurt. Fortunately, one of our group members was an emergency room physician, and he pulled Joe’s knee back into position again. Joe was deeply humbled, and to our whole group he stated, “I have been so wrong in judging these locals just because of their hair and lifestyle choices. When I really needed heroes, they stepped in and helped me.”

Later that day my mother received a call from one of these ladies who said, “Louise, you must be careful, and you should not sit on the wall with those men. They are homeless, and could cause danger to you.” My mother replied, “I trust that God loves them just as much as He loves you and me. Those men have given me the gift of their friendship, and I am giving it back.” There’s the potential for a hero and a friend within each person we meet, regardless of their skin color, their religion, their sexual orientation, or the fact that they are a minority. We are all God’s precious children. When my mother was 87, three years before she died, she lived in a little apartment above our garage. She believed in exercise, and each day when it was not raining, she drove her little car to the beach, and walked along the sidewalk. At that time at Rio del Mar beach, there was a group of homeless men who would sit on the wall at the entrance to the beach. These men sat there all day and talked together. My mother learned their names, and each day would stop and talk with them. Soon they asked her if she would like to sit on the wall with them, and she gladly accepted, sitting with them for maybe a half hour each day. She liked them very much, and truly enjoyed their company. After a few months, they asked if she would like to be an official member of the “Wall Sitters’ Club.” My mother accepted and felt it was an honor to be included in their conversations. One day some ladies from her church walked by as my mother was laughing with the men. The ladies were shocked to CONSCIOUS COMMUNITY MAGAZINE.COM

This is the time of year when we put all kinds of pressure on ourselves to make a New Year’s resolution, and hope with all our might that this is the year we’ll stick to it. If you‘re like me, you’ve failed miserably in the past at sustaining New Year’s resolutions... until now that is! I recently discovered by going through a series of catastrophic changes in my life, that we aren’t properly trained on how to create positive, sustainable change. In fact, experts reveal that only 8% of people actually achieve their desired goal. After
reading this, my curiosity got to work, and I began researching how these folks accomplish success at navigating change.
ally become that person. This is when your new normal begins to feel comfortable, and you’re on your way to your destiny.
Here is what my research uncovered: 1. Envision a clear and concise goal with emotional electricity attached to it. 2. Generate a realistic timeline with a workable plan and action steps. 3. Handwrite the goal down on several pieces of paper. 4. Post the goals in highly visible areas (home, car, work, on personal devices, etc.) 5. Visit these goals, and envision the end result daily with that same level of emotional enthusiasm. 6. Share the goal with someone you trust, who will support you and hold you accountable.
6. Respond – Anytime you have reached a place of your true purpose, there is a responsibility to help others. By helping other people get to where you are, you will automatically sustain and reinforce the change you encountered. 7. Report your progress to that person weekly, monthly, etc. 8. Celebrate every success along the way. That’s the practical approach to making your resolution a reality. However, some people need to do some inner work to truly transform their lives. This was my personal experience. During this time, I discovered a six-stage process in the transformation cycle. In fact, I wrote a book on this topic, entitled Staying Afloat During Tides of Change: Introducing the 6 Stages of Transformation. When I combined effective goal-setting (as described above) with the six-stage process, my life path became a superhighway. So, if deep transformation is what you are seeking, then here are the Six Stages of Transformation to help you succeed: 1. Realize – Become the vision, outline specific details of what you look, act, and feel like in this place. 2. Release – Something needs to be let go of, so that we can create space for the new to arrive. (Behaviors, relationship, job, etc.) 3. Rebound – Change usually generates stress, regardless of how badly you want it. That is why it is vitally important to allow yourself time to rest, recover, rejuvenate, and give yourself ample time to adapt to your new normal. 4. Reinvent – This is the stage when you put your new vision into action by taking those first steps, and begin practicing the new and improved you; courage and perseverance become your best companions. 5. Resurrect – Once you begin mastering the behaviors that are in alignment with your highest self, you eventuCONSCIOUS COMMUNITY MAGAZINE.COM

What it Takes to Succeed in Today’s New Collaborative Business World by Lori Daniel Falk Succeeding in business has often been viewed as a competitive, numbers-driven game that relies on hard facts, financial analysis, and exploitation of markets. That’s the old paradigm folks, and it simply isn’t working any more. We are rapidly moving away from this type of “fearbased” competitive environment, and in turn creating a corporate playground that thrives on caring and collaboration. Dell, and the like, for their groundbreaking book, The Corporate Mystic: A Guidebook for Visionaries with Their Feet on the Ground. Their findings led them to make the following prediction: “Successful corporate leaders of the twenty-first century will be spiritual leaders. They will be comfortable with their own spirituality, and they will know how to nurture spiritual development in others.” Stephen Covey summed it up best when he said, “Spirituality cannot be something a person toys with, a
little compartment of their lives. It has to be at the core, in a way that affects every other part of their lives.” That includes business. Today’s most successful leaders are in business for their hearts and souls, as well as their wallets. They are in business to support the hearts and souls of the people with whom they work. Succeeding in business now requires us to employ our intuition, to tap into a collective consciousness of readily available signs and guideposts, and to develop a more collaborative approach
to the world at large. “But how do I make that leap?” You ask, “How do I learn how to develop these skills when the other way is all I’ve known?” That’s where coaching comes in. A recent study conducted by QA Research, an independent market research agency in the UK, found that 80% of the organizations surveyed had used, or are now using, coaching to facilitate the growth and development of their employees with 95% reporting benefits to the organization and 96% seeing benefits to the individual being coached. (But coaching is predominantly targeted at senior-level employees, with 85% of companies coaching senior managers and directors, compared to just 52% providing coaching for non-management staff.) Penny de Valk, chief executive of the ILM, (Institute of Leadership & Management) said: “Coaching is the single most costeffective development investment an organization can make, as this learning naturally spreads across the workplace. Yet our research suggests only a limited segment of the working population receives coaching. Companies direct it at the lucky few, rather than embedding a coaching culture across an organization.” Operating without this type of assistance in today’s corporate culture simply no longer makes sense. A good coach will help you understand that there’s nothing more powerful than the subconscious mind. Most people think their conscious mind is running the show, when in fact it is the subconscious, which operates 24/7, that rules virtually everything. What’s even crazier yet is that most of the foundational programming in your subconscious mind was already in place by the time you were seven years old. So here you are this savvy business exec, and you often find yourself wondering why you can’t break through that glass ceiling, or why you can’t effortlessly attract more love, joy, health, wealth, peace, and happiness? After all, you’re staying optimistic, and saying all those positive affirmations that they told you to in
“The Secret.” “What am I doing wrong?” You continue to ask yourself. Well, the “Secret Behind The Secret” lies in that very subconscious programming I’ve been talking about, and it’s hard to know what’s in there on your own. NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS It’s All About the Numbers by Mary Herter
As we ring in the New Year in 2017, we can be more successful in achieving our resolutions if we can understand how the energy of numbers affects us. Each of us has a unique numeric blueprint made up of our name and date of birth. For the sake of simplicity, let’s focus on our Personal Year number. This number is very important in determining what our focus will be for the year. By creating harmony between your resolution and your Personal Year, you will supercharge your chance for success. 32

Personal Year = Day of Birth + Month of Birth + Current Year In numerology, we keep adding the digits in a number until we get to a single digit. For example, if your birthday is December 5th, you would add 1+2+5+2+0+1+7 to get your Personal Year Number. Personal Year = 12 + 5 + 2017 = 2034, then take 2 + 0 + 3 + 4 = 9 A Personal Year of 9 is strongly focused on what is no longer serving you. Many
people find in a 9 Personal Year that they clear out clutter, they may clean out the house, or maybe just a closet. They may find relationships changing; perhaps someone they spent a lot of time with is no longer in their life. A job that was held for many years no longer satisfies you, and you look for something new, something better. What follows are some examples of what could be a key focus for each Personal Year:

Overview January sees us shepherding in a New Year, and with a New Year arrive new goals. From an astrological point of view, we will encounter a Full Moon on January 12th in Cancer, just after Mercury goes direct on January 8th. What you once held near and dear will no longer play a vital role. This will become clearer around January 27th, when Mercury leaves its retrograde zone, and the New Moon arrives in Aquarius, the sign of community and friendships. You’ll have the urge to focus on more pressing matters. That slight shift in focus will make you want to place a great deal of attention on education. Educating yourself will be of high priority. In addition, you’ll want to surround yourself with people who value elevated consciousness. During these moments in time you’ll have the keen awareness that not only can you not turn a blind eye, you can no longer appease those that refuse to rise to the occasion to do what’s right.
