Letter from the Publisher November is an exciting month and December promises to be even more so. Sonia Choquette and Barbara Marx Hubbard will both grace my home as guests next month and I look forward to their visits. They are both pioneers in what I call the New Spirituality, and I am pleased for the opportunity to work with them again. I have just returned from the Indianapolis Body, Mind, Spirit Expo and have only good things to report. Sandy Wilcox has done an outstanding job of keeping this event alive in Indiana. I know it was a close decision by the show promoters and that Sandy was instrumental in seeing it continue. Thank you and kudos to Sandy. The public interest level in Indianapolis was very high. My two presentations were well attended and some folks chose to sit on the floor when the seats were all taken. I experienced some interesting discussions with a few people who felt called to the Midwest, particularly Indianapolis, from other parts of the country and had relocated there. As the evidence of global warming becomes even more obvious, people are being drawn to the stability of the Midwest and away from the coasts. In my presentation at the Conscious Evolutionaries International Conference on December 22, 2012, this was part of my vision of our future. One of the keys to the New Spirituality is the phrase in the gospel of Thomas, “the kingdom of heaven is within.” When the New Testament says we were created in the image of God, it doesn’t mean these bodies we occupy. It means the soul that occupies the body was created in the image of God. The idea that God is an old man with a long beard and a white robe sitting on a throne somewhere is anthropomorphic. In other words, it is humanity creating a picture of God that meets its expectations and that we can be comfortable with. I don’t believe God has ever taken form. God doesn’t need to. God’s messengers, which we call angels, have taken form mainly because we expect them to, and it is easier to receive a message from an entity that we can see, rather than just hear or perhaps feel. Humanity has an extraordinary ability to create and we have used it to create God in our image rather than the other way around. We have also used it to create war, poverty, food shortages, impure water, general discontent and an endless stream of challenges in our world. The nice thing about the New Spirituality is that we can now focus the power we already have to solve the world’s problems on a global scale, forever. Until next time,

She has helped many thousands of people in their search for purpose and meaning in their lives. Walking Home is the extraordinary story of her own personal journey of healing. Life was falling apart. Within the space of three years, New York Times best-selling author and six-sensory spiritual teacher Sonia Choquette had suffered the unexpected death of two close family members, seen her marriage implode, and been let down by trusted colleagues. In order to regain her spiritual footing, Sonia turned to the age-old practice of pilgrimage and set out to walk the legendary Camino de Santiago, a 500-mile trek over the Pyrenees and across northern Spain. Day after day, she pushed through hunger, exhaustion, and pain to reach her destination. She rediscovered the gifts of humility and forgiveness that she needed to repair her world. In this riveting book, Sonia shares the intimate details of her grueling experience, as well as the unexpected moments of grace, humor, beauty, and companionship that supported her through her darkest hours. All About Town…

Faeries and Knights Festival CAMP INFINITY Cloverdale, Indiana September 27th, 2014 by Theresa Puskar “There’s magic in this town, everywhere!” – From St. Anne’s Reel, sung by Jesse Linder As the cool breezes of fall descended upon my weary, city-crazed life, I took a magical interlude this past weekend to the world of Faeries and Knights at Camp Infinity in Cloverdale, Indiana. Since I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the camp on several occasions, I was familiar with all that it had to offer. However, this time around, the magnificence of fall foliage added to the delightful mix. Anyone who has spent time at Camp Infinity has experienced the enchantment of the land firsthand. It feels fresh, free, and quite mystical. When I’m there, as I cast my gaze upon the wonders of nature that surround me, I feel liberated from the heavy burdens of the city. Throughout the day, as I walked among the falling leaves in the whispering woods, I pondered, “Who had walked here before me, and who might tread upon this hearty terrain thereafter? Perhaps a distant ancestor who was native to this land practiced ancient rites of passage by the trunk of the old tree. Or maybe the healing, mesmerizing energy of the pulsating heartbeat of their drums still filled the night air around the campfire pit.” Oh, how I wondered! On this delicious autumn day, as the golden rays of the sun danced with the scattering of multi-colored wonders that fell from the trees, I felt transported back in time to another place. Bathed in a wash of Celtic tradition, I leaned into the experience - a smorgasbord of delectable music, art, revelry, folklore and merriment. Stoked in native tradition, with a melting mix of the Celtic with the indigenous of our land, I was with my people. I have Irish in my blood. Several years ago, when I visited Ireland, I felt like I was home. Until traveling there, I was not aware of how many of my favorite writers and storytellers were Irish – Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, George Bernard Shaw, John Millington Synge, William Butler Yeats, and Brian Friel, to name a few. With 8 Conscious Community - November 2014

its history of Christian and pagan traditions, while there, I felt the touch of St. Bridget, along with the powerful natural healing abilities that the pagan sisters of her land were known. Ireland in Indiana - at this festival, I was given a taste of the Emerald Isle once more. “Be easy and free when you’re drinking with me because I’m a man you don’t meet every day.” – Sung by Jesse Linder My day started with the sometimes somber and other Jesse Linder times sobering sounds of Jesse Linder. As I listened to him sing, I was transported back to the days when wandering minstrels sang songs about the lilt and lean of their communities. Many of the tales he sang about centered on the local harbor towns. He sang of lonely men at sea, love lost and found, and the stories of colorful characters of yesteryear. His voice was robust, and the fullness of his 12-string guitar was a complement to its heartiness. “Stories are the creative conversion of life itself into a more powerful, clearer, more meaningful experience. They are the currency of human contact.” – Robert McKee Amidst the vendors and balloon contortionist, Walter Perschke and Wizard Walter I held court as the storytellers of the day. Settled on mats and pillows, mystical and magical worlds of wonder came alive under a large oak tree. I was overjoyed to read from my Terri book series, along with improvising stories of great honor and adventure with a group of enthusiastic medieval tweens and teens. Walter recounted stories on the historical perspective of the great leaders of the old world. One in particular that I enjoyed was about the life and times of the renowned fourth century emperor, Constantine the Great.

“May the embers from the open hearth warm your hands, May the sun’s rays from the Irish sky warm your face, May the children’s bright smiles warm your heart, May the everlasting love I give you warm your soul.” – Irish toast Next on the agenda was a wonderful team of Irish dancers. A group of nine lovely girls from the Richens/Timm Academy of Irish Dance performed several dances for us. Founded by Irish Dancer Richens / Timm Irish Dancers Ann Richens, a native of Dublin, Ireland who began teaching dance in 1972, the dance school gathers the best instructors they can offer their students; all are World Champion dancers. Ranging in age from young children to early teens, the girls were a delight. Struck by the beauty of their dance, I watched in awe, as a backdrop of yellow leaves danced with them - announcing the coming of autumn. The bouncing wigs the girls wore were coiffed in a flurry of curls, waiting to be unraveled by the tenacity and timbre of their wild steps. “A harp can be as dangerous as a sword, in the right hands.” – George R.R. Martin Perhaps the most exquisite moment of the day took place in the late afternoon. I was feeling my typical three o’clock fatigue, and decided to attempt a midday nap as I lay under Alair the storytelling tree. As I drifted off into gentle slumber, the moment was perfected with the glorious sounds of Alair. This 3-piece Celtic musical group consists of the flute, harp, bodhran, and vocals. Hearing the easy sounds of the harp and flute, along with the pulsating percussive sounds of the bodhran set me in an extraordinary peaceful place. The only inherent danger was that I would totally surrender to the bliss I felt, and choose never to endeavor to drive back home to Chicago. It was one of those moments of sheer perfection, when you think to yourself, “Ah…it doesn’t get better than this!” Alive with the magic of the music and the mystery of the land, I was at one with all that is, was, and will forever be! ASTROLOGY BASICS 101 The Planets

by Kaye Berjot In previous articles we discussed the 12 zodiac signs, the 12 houses and the roles of the sun, moon and the ascendant within astrology. In this month’s article we will focus on the 10 planets that are traditionally used in Western Astrology along with their characteristics.

Venus is the planet of love, beauty and lavishness, and astrologers associate her with the Goddess of Love. Venus drives our sentiments, values, and the things that we get pleasure from. At the end of the day she will motivate individuals to move towards those things that make our lives more comfortable and loveable.

I am of the opinion that planets are the adjectives of astrology. This means that they do not stand alone and are dependent upon the zodiac sign that they rule to give it meaning and purpose.

Mercury is the messenger planet and represents communication and coordination of thoughts and ideas. He is the master of persuasion and can have you taking things apart and putting them back together before you even know what has happened. Mercury wants you to say what you mean and to mean what you say. He understands that in order to be successful at this, the head and the voice must work together.

Each sign has a planet that is its primary ruler and some planets rule multiple signs, as is the case with Venus and Mercury. In cases where one planet rules more than one sign, it is important to remember the motto of the individual sign. For example, Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. Taurus has the motto of, “I have,” and Libra has the motto of, “I balance.” Therefore, it is important to understand what Venus is trying to accomplish when she is in different signs. This is the fourth article in our series, so I would encourage you to visit our website, consciouscommunitymagazine.com, to view the previous articles in the Astrology Basics 101 series. The previous articles provide additional clarity to some of the terms that are discussed in this article. To start us out, here is a list of the signs and the planets that rule them. 1. Aries - Mars 2. Taurus - Venus 3. Gemini - Mercury 4. Cancer - Moon 5. Leo - Sun 6. Virgo - Mercury 7. Libra - Venus 8. Scorpio - Pluto 9. Sagittarius - Jupiter 10. Capricorn - Saturn 11. Aquarius - Uranus 12. Pisces - Neptune

Basic Characteristics of Planets

The planet Mars is associated with aggression and assertiveness, and many astrologers call it the warrior planet or the God of War. It is the planet that drives our survival instincts and can motivate people to take action quickly. For the most part, Mars begins the action because the action needs to begin. For this planet, there is no time like the present. 10 Conscious Community - November 2014

The Moon is traditionally associated with intuitiveness, emotional awareness, the mother and feminine energy. She is a nurturing and guiding force that utilizes your inner intuition and inner knowledge to guide you towards the things that allow you to express your unique self. If you have ever heard the expression, “there is a light at the end of the tunnel,” there is a strong probability that the moon is the guiding light in the tunnel. The Sun in astrology represents our life purpose and is considered our raison d’etre. When you are coming out of the tunnel, this is the light that you are moving towards. The sun is characterized as being generous, expressive and enthusiastic. It will bring you opportunities to express your individuality and, at its most basic definition, it is the center point of your astrological solar system. This is why many astrologers will counsel you to stand in your own light. Pluto represents change and is associated with the God of the Underworld. Its commonly identified characteristics are determination, secretiveness and truthfulness. Pluto has undergone significant changes in status since its discovery and some question whether it is a planet at all. Oddly enough, Pluto’s goal is to transform you into the change that you want to be and it is demonstrating that by being the planetary example of what change is. Pluto is asking you to be your truth. The most expansive planet in astrology is Jupiter and it is symbolized as the planet of good fortune and luck. By gathering knowledge, Jupiter expects that you will find your unique philosophies in life. It will push you to take on journeys that will lead you to find your inspirational diamonds in the ruff. Its primary characteristics are that of kindness and benevolence, and it wants you to embrace principles that will lead you to understanding.

Sandra Taylor & Sharon Klingler

Saturn is a karmic planet and is associated with the father. It represents time and its primary characteristic is patience. Saturn requires us to practice patience with the things that we want to put energy into and it will oftentimes favor the tried and true mechanisms over quick wins. It gives meaning to the phrase, “All good things happen with time”. Uranus is considered to be Mr. Unpredictable. He is associated with rebellion, disruption and unconventional thinking. This is the planet that will create a storm in order to show a clear path. These storms are usually in the form of a rollercoaster ride or surfing a big wave, scary and frightening but exhilarating…once you’ve reached solid ground. All in all, Uranus wants you to know that from chaos comes order. Neptune is the planet of illusion, has no boundaries and is associated with the God of the Sea. Its entire mission is to restore faith in that which you cannot yet see. It is the planet that removes restrictions and in some cases allows you to see the restrictions that we as individuals may have willingly or unwillingly imposed upon ourselves. Neptune reminds us that we are not exiled from the sea simply because we walk on land and that we are not bound to land simply because we have not yet learned fly. Neptune provides us with enough faith to keep trying to evolve.

Summary

I’ve struggled with how to appropriately summarize this topic, and I must say that it has been a bit of a daunting task. The planets for the most part have been an afterthought, because we have become so dependent upon the zodiac symbols to describe our individual characteristics.

But with that said, I have come to this conclusion that the most important aspect of this article is to realize that the planets are the oldest part of our existence. In actuality, they are the original spices of our lives, the last thing that we see at night and the first thing that we encounter after “mourn-ing”. We at The Conscious Community Magazine hope to see you next month and we thank you for your support and love. Together we can create magic!

“Man is a microcosm, or a little world, because he is an extract from all the stars and planets of the whole firmament, from the earth and the elements; and so he is their quintessence.” Paracelsus

From the Heart Get Real

by Alan Cohen Sitting backstage at a network television studio in a large metropolitan city, I waited to go on the air for an interview. My segment was scheduled right after the noon news broadcast, which began with a gory account of a murder, then a rape, then war footage, followed by bad economic news, and a political scandal. I began to feel depressed, but consoled myself that the broadcast would get to more positive reports. It didn’t. The entire 15 minutes was filled with gloom and doom, nothing anyone in his right mind would want to get up in the morning and face. Eventually I just had to laugh. The news was beyond depressing. It was ridiculous. It was unbelievable. Finally, after the closing sortie of auto accidents and snarled traffic, the broadcaster announced, “. . .and now for a great new book by an author who is going to tell you how to live a happy life.” The camera turned to me. Suddenly I became Neo in the movie The Matrix, in which wizard Morpheus extends two open hands, a red pill in one palm and a blue pill in the other. If Neo ingests the red pill, he will awaken to his true self and the real world. If he takes the blue pill, he will remain in a familiar but oppressive world of illusions. I sat up straight and reached for the red pill. I told the audience that love is our birthright, and to fear the imposter. I took a stand for living authentically in a world consumed by illusions. I told the viewers that they deserved better than the world showed them, and they held power over their lives regardless of the insanity around them. It was the only news I knew how to broadcast. After the program, the anchor, a highly respected lifetime journalist, took me aside and told me, “I agree with you completely. I get depressed coming to this job. There has to be more to life than the world we are telling people there is.” The reality we have been shown by the media and other seemingly authoritative institutions has been twisted into the polar opposite of truth, championed by people more committed to bondage than freedom. You have likely told someone about a valued vision of yours, to which he or she responded, “Get real!” Suddenly your excitement was reduced to ashes and you either gave up your quest, or you had to once again build up the courage and momentum to forge ahead. Take care to share your sacred visions with people who will empower you, not attempt to gobble your hopes in the shredder of doubt. If you have even one or two good friends who understand you and believe in you, that is sufficient. If it seems that no one understands or supports you, Higher Power has your back. Even when you do not have faith in yourself, God has faith in you. When most people say, “Get real,” they mean, “Get small. 12 Conscious Community - November 2014

Get limited. Get stuck. I am trapped in my little fear-bound world, and your expansive vision is threatening to me. So I demand that you grovel in the mud with me. How dare you rock my tiny world with greater possibilities!” The premise is that success and happiness are unattainable illusions, while struggle and suffering are realities we must adjust to and live with. Most planetary game-changers were told, “Get real.” They were branded insane, shamed, imprisoned, tortured, and killed. The Catholic Church sentenced Galileo to house arrest for suggesting that the earth revolved around the sun. Soon afterward Italian philosopher Giordano Bruno proposed that the sun was a star, and that the universe contained an infinite number of inhabited worlds populated by other intelligent beings. Giordano was convicted of heresy and burned at the stake. When the judges issued his death decree he told them, “Perchance you who pronounce my sentence are in greater fear than I who receive it.” Jonathan Swift later noted, “When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.” Einstein echoed, “Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.” Every person is potentially great. Are you willing to step into your greatness, claim it, and live it? The holiday season offers you many opportunities to get real in the presence of people who fear to get real themselves, and call you to play small with them. Regard their resistance as a call for love, and an invitation for you to be authentic. When you stand for truth in the presence of illusion, you break the illusion for yourself and for everyone who subscribes to it. Your mission is to remain alive in a world preoccupied with death; to walk tall when others are compromising their integrity; to be who you are while others have forgotten who they are. Reality is not for sissies. To live authentically in a world steeped in illusion is the gift of a lifetime, spreading light in ripples from your own life to the lives of everyone you touch. The Shared Heart

N ew D i m e n s i o n s o f R e l a t i o n s h i p by Joyce and Barry Vissell

My Mother’s Passing On September 20, three days before her 95th birthday, my mother transitioned out of her body while she was sleeping. It was not totally unexpected. Her health was steadily declining. Although she was not in pain, she was always tired, couldn’t move without help, needed supplemental oxygen, and couldn’t remember things minutes after they happened. Still, how can you ever really prepare for a mother’s passing? At the time of her death, I had a dream about my mother, after not dreaming about her in years. In the dream, my mother was walking across a street behind Joyce and me. Although she hadn’t walked by herself in more than a year, in the dream it seemed very ordinary. That is, until we came to a curb and had to step up. Then it occurred to me that my mom might need help. I turned around, and sure enough, she couldn’t get her foot up on the curb. I went back to her, took both of her hands, and pulled her up with noticeable ease. I remember so clearly the radiance of her smile. And that was the total dream, all about transition... across the street, up the curb, into the world of spirit... and smiling radiantly! And yes, me somehow helping with her transition. About three weeks before her passing, I visited her in New York. It was an important visit. Although the timing was poor for me, I felt strongly guided to go. She had been in heart and kidney failure for several months, and I knew I might not get another chance to see her. During the visit, I spoke with my mom about death. In past visits, when I brought up life after death, she would shrug it off with a comment like, “I don’t believe in any of that.” This time, however, she said, “I don’t know what to believe, but I hope I’ll be pleasantly surprised.” I asked her, “Mom, assuming you will be pleasantly surprised, would you please look after all of us from the other side, helping and blessing us with your prayers and love?” She smiled, “Of course I will!” The night before I left, I sat on the side of her bed. She opened her eyes and smiled warmly at me. I felt so enveloped in the love of her smile. There was a long silence while we gazed lovingly at one another. I knew I would never again see her in this beautiful but worn out form. The few words we spoke didn’t seem as important as the silent love that passed between a mother and son. She looked so peaceful, so ready for her next great journey. I said goodbye. We kissed and hugged.

16 Conscious Community - November 2014

I was always closer to my mother than to my father. I even looked like her. Even so, as with every parent and child, there was much I needed to work out in our relationship. Now that her body is gone, I’m so glad for every confrontation, every risk I took with her, no matter how difficult it was. About ten years ago, at a visit when she still lived in San Diego, I asked if I could lay my head on her lap and have her hold me like she did when I was small. It was part of my work of accepting the little boy within me who still needed love. She said yes, even though I could see she was a little nervous. While I lay with my head on her lap, she lovingly stroked my head, and spoke wonderful loving words for perhaps one minute. Then she drifted into random thoughts and words that had nothing to do with what we were doing. Instead of trying to control the exercise, I let her ramble, but I concentrated on feeling the love coming through her hands. I let myself feel just like a little boy lying in my mommy’s lap, absorbing the safety of her loving hands. Then I asked her if we could switch places. She suddenly looked scared and said, “No, I don’t want to do that.” I sat up and said, “Mom, it’s only fair that we each have the experience of being loved as a child.” She finally relented and cautiously laid her head on my lap. She almost immediately started crying. I imagined several reasons for her tears, and was surprised to hear her say, “It was so painful to be an only child... to be loved by each of my parents but to never see the two of them love one another...” Although she was crying, it was a precious healing moment, one that I would never forget. My mother let herself feel her feelings as a small child, and let me cradle her in safety. It’s now been nine days since her passing. Most of the time, I feel happy for her freedom from a very limited body. I speak to her as often as I can, knowing she hears me much better than before. I ask to remember my dreams, where I’m sure I visit her in that higher dimension of consciousness, but so far I haven’t been able to retain these memories. And I allow myself those sad moments of missing her, of feeling like a small child losing my mommy. Those moments are sprinkled throughout each day. I’ll never again speak with her on the phone, hear her frequent laughter, or be hugged by her physical arms. It’s the typical rollercoaster ride of grief. This past weekend, Joyce and I led one of our couple’s retreats at our home. On Sunday morning, we played “Grow Old Along

With Me,” sung by Eva Cassidy. As I sat looking into Joyce’s compassionate eyes, I felt held by an invisible presence and my eyes welled up with tears. It took but a moment to realize that my mom was right there holding and blessing me with boundless love. I understood that I needed to completely let go of taking care of her. She no longer needed that. From now on, she would be once again taking care of me, so much more than she did those many years ago. Here are a few opportunities to bring more love and growth into your life, at the following events led by Barry and Joyce Vissell: Nov 12-16 (sharedheart.org/sharedheart2/the-greatestjourney.html) The Greatest Journey (our 6-month program for individuals and couples), and Feb 1-8, 2015, Hawaii http://sharedheart.org/ sharedheart2/couples-in-paradise.html Couples in Paradise Retreat; Feb 14-21,2015, (divinetravels. com/ValentinesCruise2015.html) Valentine’s Day Spirit of Love Cruise for individuals and couples (LA to Mexico); Jul 19-24, (sharedheart. org/sharedheart2/breitenbush.html) Shared Heart Summer Retreat at Breitenbush Hot Springs, OR. Sound Matters: by Steven Halpern

Sound Healing Goes (Almost) Mainstream I’m catching my breath from four days at the recent international Sound Healing Conference. More than 50 leading researchers, pioneers, sound therapists and performers converged on beautiful downtown Oakland, California, and yes, if you missed it, it was recorded. Congratulations to David Gibson and Globe Sound Healing Institute for manifesting this extraordinary event. It was like a college curriculum condensed into one long weekend. Even though I live across the Bay, I will admit to being delightfully surprised at the oasis of the Roof Garden at the Kaiser Center, as well as the theater auditorium, which provided appropriate physical space for the hundreds of attendees and exhibitors. There were many crystal bowl practitioners, including a breathtaking Alchemy Crystal Bowl Temple, with hundreds of gold, platinum and other gem-infused bowls, along with tuning fork practitioners, cymatics researchers (John Stuart Reid), vocal toning healers, and instrumental musician-healers. Suffice it to say, the field of sound healing is quite broad, and continuously expanding. Even though I was there from 10 AM to 10 PM every day, and attended all of the keynote presentations, I ordered the full set of audio recordings (available from ConferenceRecording.com), and a few of the DVDs as well. I’d like to share some of the highlights that resonated most powerfully with me. I was delighted to be chosen to give the opening keynote address on Friday morning, and I came out loaded for bear. I reminded many of the younger generation of sound healers that there’s over 5,000 years of “recorded” history using sound in the ancient healing arts of Egypt, Greece and China, whose cultures honored the spiritual and healing powers of music. I suggested it is high time to be more upfront and promote the healing powers of music, despite the difficulties in funding more research, and a lack of coverage from the media. My presentation was titled “Healing Music with Brainwave Entrainment: 21st century Spiritual Sound Technology™.” I highlighted the brainwave research that I was part of back in London in 1977 with the pioneer in the field, Dr. Maxwell Cade. He measured the brainwave activity of meditating Tibetan monks, who had spent many years in training. 18 Conscious Community - November 2014

I wish I had a video clip of the astonished look on his face when a similar pattern showed up when he measured someone listening to my Chakra Suite music. We also measured the effects of listening to Tibetan singing bowls. Even without “singing”, the slow pulsations entrained the listener’s brains to the alpha or theta frequencies. I pointed out that “all Tibetan bowls are not created equal.” It all helped to establish the reality that certain sounds are indeed potent tools to transform consciousness. Some bowls produce much more profound effects than others. That’s why I have a number of them in my personal collection. Some days, I am more in tune with one than another, yet each has its own beauty. In my talk, I then linked the Tibetan bowl effect to the specific vibrato setting I use on my Fender Rhodes electric piano, and demonstrated how that instrument was the 20th century update of the ancient bowls. You could hear the audible “ah-ha” gasp of recognition from the musicians and sound healers in the audience. “I never thought of that before,” is what they said when they came up to speak to me after the presentation. I then related my instrument to the use of tuning forks. There were many practitioners of sound healing who are not musicians who use these instruments, and I encouraged more inclusivity in the field. Since I was scheduled to be the first performer on Friday night, preceding Scott Huckabay, and urban shaman Suzanne Sterling, I happily turned down two invitations to “jam” with a crystal bowl player and a tuning fork player. There’s not much jamming going on when all you have is one note to play with.

Meetings with Remarkable Men

In upcoming installments, I’ll cover some of the other presenters and pioneers, like Don Estes, Rollin McCraty, John Stuart Reid, Randy Masters, and others. Their work is expanding the field in fascinating ways. For me, one of the highlights was finally getting the answer to a mystery I’ve lived with since I saw the incredible film Meetings with Remarkable Men, about the life of the mystical teacher

G. I. Gurdjieff, which was released for a brief time in limited distribution in 1979. In one of the opening scenes, there is a moment that had a profound effect on me. I highly recommend that you track down and view this film, and have your own experience.

More surprising, though, was that I was actually over an inch taller! Randy Masters presented his life’s work on harmonics and healing frequencies. Dr. Jeffrey Thompson highlighted his pioneering work researching gamma brainwave frequencies, nature sounds, and space sounds from NASA. I’ll have a lot more to say in a future installment.

Set in Afghanistan, we see hundreds of people from the mountainous area converging at the bottom of a canyon with almost vertical stone cliffs. The tribal elder speaks: “Every 20 years, we Azokhs gather in this valley to test the power of our art.” A competition follows, in which each master musician plays his instrument, and waits for a response. Will it be from the crowd, or...?

Jonathan Quintin flew in from New Zealand and presented a mind-blowing multi-media presentation of mathematics, sacred geometry and cosmology. I was so impressed that I volunteered to help him get distribution in the US. You can find some of his work on YouTube, and believe me; you’ll never look at numbers as a boring topic again.

At last, a large, burly man begins playing his flute. Then he begins to sing -- unearthly chanting, with high harmonics that sent a chill up my spine. Remember, I’m sitting in a darkened movie theater.

As I finish writing this, a neighbor’s dog has been barking madly for over half an hour. I need to walk over to their home and find out what the problem is. Is it a cosmic coincidence that antihealing sounds are assaulting me as I try to concentrate?

After a few moments, he stops, and waits... Suddenly, his voice returns as an ethereal echo. The look on the faces of all in attendance reflected the magic of the moment. I had an out of body experience, virtually levitating out of my seat...and knocking over the popcorn of the person next to me.

I’ll keep you posted. Until next time, stay tuned. Steven Halpern is a Grammy® award nominated recording artist, composer and pioneering sound healer. His latest releases are Meditations To Support Sobriety and Recovery with John Bradshaw, and Ambient Alchemy with Michael Diamond.

Who was the musician who was able to make the stone cliffs sing? I’ve wanted to meet that person for over 30 years. I finally met him. I had heard a rumor, and asked a master of harmonic overtones, David Hykes, if he was the one. He replied that indeed he was, yet as a student of Gurdjieff, he had been pledged to anonymity for many years, and now had permission to let the truth be known.

Join us for an afternoon with . . .

Some of you may be familiar with David’s bestselling 1983 album, Hearing Solar Winds. If not, let me recommend that to you. You will not believe the sounds David and his consort are able to create with their voices.

Cymatics: Sound at the Cellular Level

John Stuart Reid arrived from London to share his work with the Cymascope, the instrument he developed. You may recall that when we met, he offered to see what imagery my chanting OM inside the Great Pyramid might create. The results were astonishing; our video “Cymatic Imagery of Sacred Chant recorded Inside the Great Pyramid” has received over 154,500 views on my YouTube channel. The direct link to the video is https://youtube.com/watch?v=Yw13EAX3cZk. Don Estes, inventor of VibraSound® Sensory Resonance Technologies, presented his latest research involving the breath, voice and universal automata. I don’t understand all the physics, but after I tried out his special chair and headphones for ten minutes, I felt like I had been meditating for an hour.

CyberWeave: Spirituality and the Internet by Mary Montgomery

The Happy Movie Let Happiness Take Root in Your Life As I mentioned in last month’s column, one of the resources I used to come out of my own Dark Night of the Soul was Happy, the documentary movie created by Academy Award nominated Roko Belic (thehappymovie.com). Happy was the inspiration of director Tom Shadyac (Liar, Liar; Patch Adams, and others) who financed the film after reading a 2005 New York Times article, “A New Measure of Well-Being From a Happy Little Kingdom,” by Andrew C. Revkin, in which the United States was ranked 23rd on a list of the happiest nations in the world. Shadyac challenged Belic to explore the roots of happiness and discover how we can plant and nourish these roots so they bear the fruit of happier lives. I only touched on that movie last month, stating that it deserved a column of its own. Indeed, it does, not only because of the wealth of insights and techniques about happiness that are presented on screen. I hope to help Happy viewers by providing a bit more robust resource guide than the one provided at thehappymovie.com website. The site is great for viewing movie trailers, checking out articles and radio interviews, and finding out more about Belic and his co-creators. However, I would have liked a more in-depth way to explore the resources touched on by the many experts who were interviewed during the film. There is a list of resources under the “GET INVOLVED” tab, yet if you click on the “Cast/Interviews” link on the What the Bleep Do We Know website (whatthebleep.com), you’ll see what I mean about in-depth and robust. With this caveat, however, I must emphasize: HAPPY IS A GREAT MOVIE. Let me begin, actually, at the end of the movie with this statement by the narrator: “With happiness, the more you have, the more everyone has.” That statement brought back memories of me as a seven-year-old girl tagging along with my dad as he squired the nuns from St. Odilo’s on their Saturday visits with nuns at other churches. One of those visits was to an inner city parish with a rather famous statue of the Blessed Mother on its side altar. A nice nun ushered me into the dark, empty church and whispered in my ear, “Since this is your first time, you can ask Mary to grant you one wish.” I remember walking up that long aisle and kneeling at Mary’s feet. What 20 Conscious Community - November 2014

should I wish for, I wondered. Then it came to me. “I wish that everyone is happy,” I said. It was the perfect wish, I thought, for if everyone was happy then I would be happy too! Ah, out of the mouths of babes! As you view Happy, and digest the wisdom of experts who have studied happiness, you will see that the illustrating stories of the truly happy are often those of ordinary folks who are living their happiness in very simple and heartfelt ways. You’ll meet people like Manoj Singh, a rickshaw driver who lives with his family in a Kolkata, (Calcutta) India slum. We are told that Manoj was found to be as happy as the average American. Actually, he might be happier! Despite his poverty, Manoj can say: “When I see my child’s face, I am very happy. I feel that I am not poor, but am the richest person. Sometimes we eat only rice with salt, but still we are happy.” And you will meet people like Roy Blanchard, Sr. and his family, residents of the Louisiana bayou. Roy talks as he steers his boat through the bayou. “You don’t know what you gonna see,” says Roy. “But nature, especially like this, you know, it’s good medicine. This is my happiness.” Roy and his extended family live within a few miles of each other. They live modestly, with very little material wealth, yet with plenty of happiness. They all meet at least once a week over dinners they call “live off the land.” As one of the clan put it, “Somebody needs something done, we just get together and we do it.” Stories like this make the statistics and research on happiness come alive. The statistics and research, however, also play a vital role. They not only unlock the puzzle of what it means to be happy, yet also provide the keys which can be used to fire up the engines of our own happiness. Here are just a few of the insights gleaned from recent happiness research. I say recent because that’s what all of it is. Until a few pioneers took up the challenge, the focus of all research was on depression and psychological illness. When Professor Ed Diener started doing his happiness research in 1981, he was told, “You can never measure happiness.”

Well, we have come a long way, babies! Here are some of the results of that research on “unmeasurable” happiness: • Approximately 50% of the differences in our happiness level are determined by our genes. This is our genetic set point. • Circumstances like our job, money, social status, and health only account for 10% of the differences in our happiness. • Researchers theorize that 40% of our happiness level is due to intentional behaviors that we do on a regular basis to become happier. • The research shows that people who experience flow (complete absorption in what one is doing) on a regular basis are happier than those who don’t. • One of the key ingredients of happiness is being able to recover from adversity more quickly. • In America, we are about twice as wealthy as we were 50 years ago, yet nationally representative surveys of people’s happiness show that happiness has remained stagnant. • The difference in happiness between the person who earns $5,000 and $50,000 is dramatic. The difference in happiness between the person who earns $50,000 and $50 million is not dramatic. • Research shows that people who are more extrinsically oriented (money, status, image) reported less satisfaction, less vitality, and more depression and anxiety. People who are intrinsically oriented (personal growth, close relationships, community feeling) were happier, reporting more vitality, and less depression and anxiety. • Cooperation is rewarding to humans, eliciting dopamine signals that you can measure in the striatum just like you were squirting cocaine into them. The act of cooperating with another human can feel just as good as taking a drug that affects your dopamine system. • People who do a specific form of meditation on compassion and loving kindness can increase their happiness levels to a greater extent, and for longer periods of time, than people taking powerful anti-depressant medications. • Researchers found that people who counted their blessings once a week became happier. • People who were asked to commit acts of kindness on a regular basis became happier. In fact, research is showing that performing acts of kindness may be the most effective technique for increasing happiness. RESOURCES: Gregory Berns M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Neuroeconomics and Psychiatry, Emory University: Dr. Berns pointed out the value of aerobic exercise, which is probably one of the best releasers of dopamine, especially if you do it in novel ways. There is a correlation between novel behavior and happiness. He is the author of How Dogs Love Us. Check out: gregoryberns.com. Pulse Calendar Saturday, November 1 8 WEEK MEDITATION CLASS WITH BHARAT KALRA 6:00pm – 7:30pm November 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th December 6th & 13th $20 per class or save 25% and pay for all 8 classes before the start of the first class. Is there something more to meditation? Relaxation is a benefit by default. If you think meditation is all about sitting cross legged with your eyes closed, you may be shocked to know how opposite that fact is. In these 8 sessions, a technique will be taught that will help the seeker/ practitioner find the answers to questions like “Why am I so unhappy?” “Is there anything that will help me find inner peace?” The most amazing part of this journey will be to know that all the answers are within. It’s only a matter of how to look for them. Crystal River Gifts 310 N. La Fox St. South Elgin, IL 60177 (224) 535-8708. REIKI ONE WITH DARLA TEGTMEIER, 9am – 5pm $150. In this class you will learn the basics of Reiki, gain an understanding of what Reiki is and what Reiki is not. What it can do and what it cannot do, and how to start incorporating it into your daily life. Reiki is not just something you do; it is a way to be. Wear comfortable clothing. You will be giving and receiving Reiki before the end of the day. Crystal River Gifts 310 N. La Fox St. South Elgin, IL 60177 (224) 535-8708 Monday, November 3

THE MAGICAL WORLD OF NUMBERS November... Balance, Partnerships, Intuition, Mother Energy, Groups by Elizabeth Summers

As the falling leaves swirl around us, so do the multi-level energies of the Number Two and more importantly, the Number Eleven of November. This high strung vibration of intuition can create some intense nervous energy in those that are very emotional and sensitive even to the point of physical illnesses from worries. Ruling the subconscious, the Numbers Two and Eleven can bring on wild dreaming and restlessness which is not uncommon. These possible agitation energies can cause impatience in relationships that requires a lot of balance, setting of boundaries or negotiating situations into “win-win” through diplomacy. Therefore, it is not surprising that many “flare-ups” can occur around the Thanksgiving table! The Number Eleven is a Master Number taken on only by old souls of spirituality who have volunteered to come into human with only one purpose---to serve as a spiritual messenger. However, to fit all this electrical energy into the ‘human shoes” can be quite a trick so the human reverts to the lower energy of Two. Flipping back and forth energetically between Two and Eleven can become quite dizzying and confusing on occasions! One of the best solutions for this is to be around water. Either living near ponds, streams, oceans or jumping into Jacuzzis will calm this hyperactive static down to a more grounded level. In November, we move mid-month from the sign of Scorpio into the sign of Sagittarius. This can be a shock! Dear Scorpios have been “under the gun” of moving Saturn in their sign, having been in the “boot camp” of their lives for the last two years. Relief will come at the end of December but Scorpios are not done yet until the end of 2015. Saturn will make a U-turn mid June 2015, and transit back into Scorpio for one final “tidy up period” of issues. This Marine Corp drill instructor of the Universe, Mr. Saturn always brings a gift as it will move along into Sagittarius so be calm, pay attention and know that your “present in life” is awaiting you. Sagittarius will take aim of its goals at mid-November and intensify its efforts as it zooms into December. Don’t ask them to sit still too long. As boredom sets in, their favorite phrase just might be “I am out of here”! Their quest for excitement mixed with a little intrigue can make them a force to be dealt with during the gentle energies of November. 34 Conscious Community - November 2014

From a Tarot perspective, the Number Two is the High Priestess card which brings in a need to listen to one’s intuition and especially when dealing with partnerships. The Number Eleven is the Justice card requiring balance in partnerships that frequently have arrived from previous incarnations. Where the energy of Number One is assertive and aggressive wanting to be the leader in all situations, Number Two says “show me the way and I will follow.” This quiet, supportive vibration, especially as a birthday Number, can get misinterpreted as weak and thus get walked over like a doormat. Non-combative and easily lead, this “people pleaser” can become co-dependent, needing to be snapped out of its victim energy through difficult personal relationships especially in family. The Number Two is one of the “mother” indicators in Numerology. This feminine sensitive vibration needs to learn to be true to itself and speak up in its own defense. Setting boundaries, saying the word “no’ in many cases can be quite a challenge in corralling noisy children or setting boundaries in relationships, but it must be done. The out of balance of Number Two is victimhood but there are no victims in life, only inappropriate choices that have been made that need correction. The Numbers applied to the word “November” add to a total vibration of transition of 13/4 which is the Death card in Tarot. The old is passing away and we are moving into a planning energy of nesting prior to new growth and beginnings that come in the Spring. Thanksgiving provides the perfect opportunity to serve others for all of us, especially the Number Two and the Number Eleven. This energy which is fastidious, very detailed oriented to a fault sometimes can put all the details together for a wonderful event. Very hurt by criticism, be sure to “compliment the cook” on this special holiday or Number Two energy will not be inviting you back! Relax, enjoy and be peaceful in this rather slow moving month. More importantly be in gratitude for all the abundance that the wonderful month of November celebrates and trust that “all is well”. Spiritually guiding clients since 1988, Elizabeth Summers provides practical information. To contact Elizabeth Summers by phone at: 303-702-5420 or by email at: elizabeth@elizabethsummers.com.

Progress Survive

by Blair McKissock

As my plane was taking off recently, I looked out the window to see small herd of cattle grazing in the green space between the highways feeding into the airport and I got to thinking, can progress and the natural world co-exist? Can we as a species honor the natural rhythms of life and our environment, and still meet the insatiable demands of humanity? This seems to be a very polarized topic – Choosing between environmentalism or corporate big business. However, if you look around with an observant eye and listen with an attuned ear, there seems to be the small quiet movement that lies in the middle. It is a tiny flame kindled by a realization that the answer might not be on the extremes but where the two sides blend together, like the cows grazing only feet from the high speed urban life. If we lift the stones of this small collaborative movement, we find innovators who managed to make it work. A good example of this is a horse farm just a few miles from downtown surrounded on all sides by housing developments. This fifty-acre oasis serves the community, is self-sustaining and is protected farm land, thanks to the neighbors that surround it. According to the EPA, (Environmental Protection Agency), almost 30 million acres of land in the US has been developed from 2000 to 2012. The largest percentage is found in smaller farms. Protecting and growing those smaller farms allows for development of some portion of the land and giving space to agriculture. It is a simple shift in mindset from tradition ideas of sprawling rural farms to the idea of small micro farms intermingled with urban sprawl. The location of this farm used to be thought of as very rural just 15 years ago, and it is now considered a major suburb of the city. If some of the small land tracts can be preserved as green space within major development and city planning proposals, they can serve as the same type of oasis allowing children that grow up in more urban areas to experience the benefits of growing food and caring for small animals. Another example is the small but growing movement in some cities to clear a large section of dilapidated or abandoned houses and redevelop them into small live-and-work communities. Instead of developing virgin farmland, attention can be reinvested into more undesirable places to live and overhauled to give new life in urban areas. These small pockets of renovated areas can reduce crime by shrinking the areas where it thrives, bringing the younger homeowner to aging areas, and rethinking city planning with new ideas including increased green space and safer walking or biking areas. You might even see goats included in the

planning, depending on where you live. Goats have stomachs of iron and e are now being used to mow down brush on overgrown vacant lots. In a San Francisco park, goats are being used to help keep land tame instead of other practices such as controlled burnings and herbicides to accomplish the same result. The rate at which technology is advancing is faster than anything we have seen in human history. We need to learn to slow down. The feverish pace at which we are moving forward is faster than we can account for the consequences of our actions. Slowing down would not only benefit our environment by curtailing the effects of our current practices, it would benefit business through the improved health of the workforce. While technology serves to make our lives better, the rate at which we turn it out kills us. With a small shift in our mindset, to slow the pace helps us to create higher quality products with a greater purpose. And we take the time to think through actions all the way to conclusion. Our ancestors has some pretty good ideas about how to find the middle ground to provide what we need while living in a more harmonious way with nature. It is odd that we move so fast ahead to solve our problems when many of the answers lie behind us. This is an issue that many in the conscious community struggle with. We are caught in the world where we understand there are consequences for our actions, but the needs of humanity are to be met. We teeter on the edge where if we stray too much to one side or the other, we risk self-destruction. The question still remains as to how we satisfy the demands of the world and protect it at the same time. How do we survive this explosion of growth while the rate of our advancement strives to beat our selfdestructive nature in the race for survival? We all know what we must do but sometimes feel powerless to do what it takes. I find myself giving in to the demands of society and making decisions I know are harmful out of convenience and sanity. However it is the awareness that comes first. That awareness leads to the shift in thinking we are going through right now. That shift creates the small whisper of change we hear and the small flicker of flame we see. And just as a whisper turns into a booming call and the flame a roaring fire, we can survive this societal adolescence and find that common ground that will ultimately reap the solutions to the problems we face. Yoga

From My Experience by Cynthia Gran

Nature’s Hold

“How I pray, yes I pray, That I won’t get lost or go astray As I’m fated for the material world; Get frustrated in the material world. Senses never gratified; only swelling like a tide, That could drown me in the material world.” - Living In The Material World, George Harrison

Humans and animals are instinctively motivated by four natural urges that bind us to this world. They are self-preservation, sleep, sex, and food. Yoga psychology teaches that fears, emotions, desires, and poor habits are derived from imbalances in these four urges. Virtually all adverse behaviors can be traced to them. Yet, they need not control us in spirit.

“Fear is an impurity that colors the mind,” - Yoga Sutras, 2:9. Sleep keeps the nervous system strong and the senses working properly. A stable sleep schedule is necessary for overall health. Daily relaxation exercises also refresh the mind and body. A few very adept yogis practice sleep differently than most with a technique called yoga nidra. Yoga nidra rejuvenates the mind and body deeply, more efficiently and much quicker than the usual 6-9 hours of slumber most of us require. Neither too little nor too much sleep is helpful, because either could create fatigue, sloth, or laziness, which are considered transgressions in most of the world’s religions.

When we become conscious of the grasp these four basic urges have on us, humans can soar above what we share with animals, as evolution has already authorized. Once we understand these primitive urges and our attachments to them, we learn to consciously control them so their power over our lives is minimized. The Bhagavad Gita 4:9-10, teaches that humans are divine, but have forgotten this because we are focused on worldly attachments and fear. Further, it instructs us to satisfy the necessary, mundane needs of the body, such as the four urges, and then progress toward transcendent knowledge and actions through good karma, prayer and meditation.

Sex is a beautiful, bonding behavior. The mind thinks of sex first, and then the body reacts. Sex is necessary to continue the species and great effort is generated in the human and animal kingdoms to prepare, preen and attract a mate. Desire to procreate in humans is sometimes based on pride of legacy. People sometimes become self-centered or worried about their abilities. Some do not value sex as a sacred ritual or use it to manipulate others.

“We are beginning to recognize simultaneously Our many human weaknesses and our many divine strengths… We are not bound by the physical level, unless we choose to be.” - Illuminata, Marianne Williamson

Food eaten by yogis is fresh, unadulterated and taken in moderate quantities. Eating well is a means to a healthy body, regulated breath and a clear mind. When the body is well nourished and exercised, it tolerates sitting for meditation without agitation. The body needs food first, and then the mind reacts. But even top quality food is unwholesome when too much is eaten, causing illness.

To illustrate, we begin with the urge that is linked to the other three. Self-preservation is the urge to protect and insure safety of the body. The nesting instinct, saving for the future, sufficiently clothing the body, and protecting the home are all self-preservation. We monitor the space where we eat, sleep and have sex because self-preservation is related to fear of attack and we can be vulnerable during all three activities. Fear is also worry about losing what we have or not getting what we want. Yoga teaches that all fear is rooted in the fear of death, but this sometimes becomes distorted and leads to other, often unwarranted fears. Yogis examine all fears and cultivate courage, believing that fear invites danger. 36 Conscious Community - November 2014

“Do not mistake the temporary of this world for the eternal, or the impure for the pure,” - Yoga Sutras, 2:5.

Psychologist Abraham Maslow taught in his Hierarchy of Needs something similar to the four urges. In his paradigm, after basic human needs of physiology and safety, and then middle needs of belonging and esteem are fulfilled, we can pursue the highest level, self-actualization. Self-actualization includes creativity, morality, and attaining one’s full potential. Of course, meeting the basic needs of life is challenging to many people and Maslow’s paradigm has had its critics. Yet, modern psychology agrees that as people age we become more religious. We reduce household

items, minimize unneeded habits that served past goals and lend new efforts toward spirituality. Yoga teaches that if we decide to break our attachments to this world, then we will have decided to be happy and no longer be victims of fears. When we consciously cultivate self-control, then nature and its urges no longer limit us to this plane of existence. We arrive at freedom by non-attachment while living in the world, consistently adjusting and regulating our behaviors. We work to understand our motivations, because habits are not our fate. Then life opens and there is time to pursue spiritual and creative endeavors; time for beauty, prayer and meditation. “Ah, but a man’s reach should exceed his grasp. Or what’s a heaven for?” - Andrea del Sarto, Robert Browning Questions for contemplation: Am I willing to sort out my fears and examine them? Can I distinguish wants from needs? Am I willing to renounce my attachment to worldly items? Am I ready to surpass human weaknesses and limitations? Cynthia Gran loves to cook and garden. She teaches superconscious meditation and offers clear, supportive Ayurvedic consultations. Co-owner of Annapurna Holistic Services, she can be reached at cynthy3@gmail.com.

Heal

Mind and Body with Meditation

When I talk about “my body,” I am declaring that I am separate from my body. When I say “my mind,” I am declaring that I am not “my mind.” But if I am not mind or body, then what am I? Long ago, human life revolved around three basic needs: food, clothing, and shelter. All activity focused on making sure these three needs were met. As societies evolved and advanced, two more basic values emerged, values of vital importance still to this day: health and happiness. What makes us healthy? What makes us happy? These two questions were seen as different matters. “Health” referred to bodily functions, and was a matter for science. “Happiness,” seen as a state of mind, was a matter for philosophy. The great thinkers in science and philosophy always saw the link between health and happiness (remember Benjamin Franklin’s famous aphorism “Early to bed, early to rise….”). As our understanding of how the mind works advanced scientifically, the importance of mental health to physical health (and vice versa) became clearer. We found that worry and stress tended to make people more vulnerable to illness. People who were happier were more resistant to disease. Studies in longevity revealed the importance of a positive attitude. The whole concept of the placebo is based on the platform that having positive thoughts can ultimately affect physical conditions. Thus, we know our thoughts influence our health. Meditation—a method for focusing and “training” our thought—can have a tremendous impact on our physical well-being.

What is Stress? If asked to describe good health, I might say it is the absence of disease. I would say happiness is the absence of grief and sadness. Similarly, meditation can be understood only when we can define stress, which can be a positive force. In human history, finding food, clothing and shelter was prompted by the stress of not having these things. So stress that prompts us to act is positive stress. Positive stress helps us carry on with our day to day life. When the body needs water, the brain tells us to pick up the glass and pour some water. When the bladder is under stress, we know what we need to do.

38 Conscious Community - November 2014

While reading this article, close your eyes and observe what is going on in your mind. Do this for 10 minutes without interruption. You will realize just how crazy our inner world can be, with multiple thoughts crossing the mind every minute, most of them totally irrelevant. When you analyze these thoughts, you observe that most are either connected to the past or to the future. The past is gone and can’t be changed, while the future remains out of reach. Both are effectively out of our control. Stress is the by-product of fear—the anxiety of feeling that the past and the future are out of our control. The body is prompted to take action, but this action never takes place. Negative thoughts take shape and grow in the mind. This creates negative stress.

Meditation The present is the link between the past and future. This link carries the secret key to the happiness we have been discussing. That key is meditation. Meditation is nothing but the art of disconnecting from the past and anxiety about the future, and learning to live in the present moment. Meditation is sometimes described as concentration; this is true to a very limited extent. With the mind so full of thoughts, concentration on any one subject is a tool to minimize and focus mental activity. Then, when the mind starts fully concentrating on that one object, even that object is removed. What is left for the mind to hang onto? Nothing! That is when real meditation starts. We learn the art of not doing anything, and become observer, rather than doers.

Therapeutic Value of Meditation Meditation enhances positivity and decreases stress and negative thinking. Research also shows it increases the ability to concentrate, mental focus and memory. Meditation has proven physical benefits, as well. When we change our mind, we change our body; recent neurological studies show this is literally true. Researchers are demonstrating that mediation can be a powerful, even essential ally in healing, recovering, and correcting a great variety of physical conditions. Through a determined practice of meditation, one can learn to redirect and refocus neurological activity. Studies actually show increases in brain

signaling connections and protective tissue. In other words, with meditation, we are not feeling better just because we spent some time relaxing; we are physically healing our bodies. Recently, I was treating a patient with cold lasers for swelling caused by a dental abscess. I took her into a meditative state and asked her to observe the inflamed part. This process was repeated two-three times. After the session was over, she said she was healed, with a mild memory of the wound still present. Her dentist the next day observed it was remarkable how quickly she had healed. I mention this patient because she is a practicing doctor herself.

Spirituality One of the great things about meditation is it doesn’t conflict with your particular type of spiritual practice; in fact, one can approach mediation as an empiricist—a scientific observer. However, with an open, attentive mind, meditation can deepen and enhance your existing spiritual practice, whatever form that may be. “If I am neither mind nor body, then what am I?” Once you ask this question, the world within comes upon the threshold of upheaval, and nothing remains the same. The answer to this question lies in meditation. A recent Indian master puts it this way: “One cannot ‘do’ meditation. Meditation just happens. Meditation means just ‘to be.’ Meditation happens only when all activities cease on a physical and mental level and what remains is just ‘the being’…. No activity, no thought, no emotion. And this ‘to be’ is just bliss. Where is the source of this bliss? How can you be blissful when you are not doing anything? This is possible because this is happening without any reason. Existence, itself, is bliss.”

Guided Meditation Talking about meditation, even if it is an experienced teacher explaining, is no substitute for the experience. When starting your journey, a guide is crucial to getting the most out of the experience. Simply sitting quietly is only a start, and it is far more difficult than people realize. A teacher can instruct in techniques, help you focus and let go, show you what to look for and where, and act as a conduit to the meditative state. Guided meditation is like a show window; it gives a glimpse of what is in store for you. When you experience deep relaxation, you think “Wow! That was great. I never thought relaxation could be so profound and blissful.” Guided meditation is a preparatory step on the journey to silent meditation. People sometimes ask me to describe the feeling after a session. I have to pause: can it be adequately described? Can you describe the taste of chocolate? You might say it is sweet. You might say it is rich. But the only way to truly know is to taste it. Come experience the taste of chocolate for yourself! Daylight Savings Time ends on Sunday night, the 2nd, at 2:00am. With few planetary shifts this month, the main theme is the ongoing intensity of the Scorpio influence. Saturn is rigorous in keeping us on a straight and narrow track. We contend with circumstances that test our motivation and our inner resolve. What is in the highest good for everyone concerned? This month, Venus (12th), the Sun (18th), and Mercury (25th) all meet up with Saturn. We feel the imposition of necessity in our personal circumstances. Several issues may face us with considerations about what is working and what is not. Various situations are being redefined and we must respond firmly. 42 Conscious Community - November 2014

To add to this rigorous agenda, Mars is strongly involved with the Pluto-Uranus Square for most of the month, most keenly on the 9th-13th. We must change the way we are doing things. That’s all there is to it. It’s sheer necessity. A larger cycle is starting to be felt. Saturn is squaring off with Jupiter, an archetypal clash of conservative and liberal forces, of contracting and expanding influences. These two planets are coming to a pivotal point in their 20-year cycle, one that impacts the political-economic landscape. Developments are building toward a turning point, but a pull back at the end of the month delays results. We get as far as we can get for now and are left with an unfinished business that comes back around during 2015. Mercury enters Scorpio on the 8th for several weeks of deep thinking and intense scrutiny. We are challenged to stay positiveminded through thick and thin. When this Messenger of the Gods moves into Sagittarius on the 27th, the positive groove runs more smoothly. On the 16th, Neptune turns from retrograde to direct motion. This may or may be very obvious to most of us, but indicates something about the trends of the time that may be expressed through arts, film, advertising. Imagine an organ that plays a strong chord that reverberates and is sustained all month, resounding through our bodies. Use this extended vibrational tone as a spiritual focus. This same day, Venus enters Sagittarius. “Girls just wanna have fun!” (Guys too!) There is a qualitative shift as the Sun and Moon join Venus on the 22nd and have a fire sign party. Mercury joins in a few days later, adding to the much uplifted and motivated energy, as if we just turned up a get-outof-jail-free card.

Saturday, November 1

November starts with a Void of Course Moon at 1:23am (CDT), which carries some friction. Tensions may intrude into cooperative efforts this morning, with some people strongarming to bend the rules and muscling in where they don’t belong. We are close to breaking through on some sticky issues, but we may hit a brick wall and need to step back for a broader

perspective and further consensus. It might just be a matter of some misunderstanding that can soon be remedied. Generally we experience excellent communication today, supported by fervent desire to move forward. The Moon heads into Pisces at 11:37am, melting most resistance. We are all in this together. However, don’t cave in on essentials that undermine your situation or drain your energy. We are looking for fair, win-win scenarios, placing environmental issues up front and central. This is a good weekend for dating, especially tomorrow. A relevant reminder: no matter the level of stress, it doesn’t help one’s clarity to overindulge in drink or drug, like some may be prone to do this evening. P.S. Set your clocks back tonight.

day. Keep others in the loop. Conversations are needed so we can share ideas and keep up with each other. Where there are misunderstandings or disagreements or one person insists on his/ her own agenda, we have various choices. Some relationships will break off, as individual paths diverge. There can be spicy arguments, and we can agree to disagree—for now—and see how it goes. We can keep working things out, hopefully without anyone compromising their integrity.

Wednesday, November 5

A Void of Course Moon at 7:26am lingers well into the afternoon, giving us time to think over election results and, on a more personal level, what has been said and not said. Some disagreements persist. Sometimes it’s a matter of wording. We don’t all understand words in the same way, especially if there is a language or age difference. Do you need to reframe your position? Were you too impatient and going too fast to really listen? How are you feeling at this point, especially in relation to your future? What’s really worth it to you? These last two questions take on increasing importance when the Moon enters grounded Taurus at 3:33pm. We slow down the pace and put our attention to getting things done. Then we’ll see where we’re at.

Sunday, November 2

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2pm, beginning CST. The time change may create more confusion than usual, accompanied by some humorous serendipities as well. There is a good flow of harmonious energy today, a blend of intensity, passion and sweetness, clearly good for lovers and for weekend dates. Meaningful bonds connect at a deeper level. Spiritual practice also feels more deeply connected. Generate good will and feel it mirrored back to you, producing some extra special experiences.

Monday, November 3

Thursday, November 6

Another morning Void of Course Moon starts at 3:06am (CST), with issues from Saturday smoothed over. We can slide into the new week feeling pretty good. However, you may not feel ready to take on the world quite yet. Take the morning slowly, with a basic check in. See what is calling for action and get set up accordingly. Sketch out a plan, then be ready to move on it as the Moon shifts into a higher gear this afternoon, entering Aries at 12:53pm. The starting gun is shot and we’re fast off the starting block. Don’t rush through things in an impatient fluster or you’ll trip up. Best results today take thorough consideration and conscientious evaluation. We are building our future, whether we remember that or not, so look several generations down the road. In late evening, many of us feel our clocks clearly winding down, though some of us will get a second wind. We may be under pressure to get more done, but don’t push the river. You’ll want to be alert as a bunny for tomorrow. Keep in mind the warning already given about overindulging in substances that seem to soothe, but undermine your common sense.

Tuesday, November 4

The Moon activates the Pluto-Uranus Square all day, fueling the revolutionary spirit. What a day for a major election! Clearly there is a power shift, unless results are high jacked. Some argue against what they perceive as risky ventures. Debates, questions and discussions look at various sides of the situation, but we can’t talk forever. Many of us feel so close to some inevitable changes that we have to make, that we are chomping at the bit, wanting to convince others. New information comes out that impacts public opinion. The old guard is holding some issues hostage. Let’s maneuver around the blockades. How does all this translate into our lives, apart from our investment in the larger picture? Are you excited about the potentials for newness and doing what you can to bring it on? This can be a breakthrough

FULL MOON at 15 SCORPIO-TAURUS, 4:23pm CST Taurus is practical sign, looking for tangible results. Scorpio operates at hidden, subatomic levels. Today we experience the status of energetic fields in our internal world. Where we are holding back or holding in out of fear, we find challenge in front of us. A loving heart is the key to this Full Moon dynamic, creating a kind of magic. We continue to see ego posturing around us. Some people don’t know better. We can be amused or, if this posturing is dangerous, we make it clear that we are not amused and take appropriate action. A judgmental attitude pulls us in, indicating that we our egos are caught in this dynamic. Discernment is a finer tool, like a surgeon’s sharp knife, cutting through toxic reactivity and negative attitudes. On the larger level, we continue to contend with the financial and emotional implications of the election.

Friday, November 7

An all-day Void of Course Moon starting at 10:18am gives us extra time to consider the long-term potentials of current life circumstances in light of recent developments. We feel out the repercussions of some sticky issues already on the table, and may find ourselves shuffling papers around uselessly. Better to do some research on the matter and see what we can find out. There are other possibilities out there. It is tempting to ask for advice, and we can air out some thoughts and get feedback, but only we can know our internal state of mind. We are responsible for our own decisions. Uncommon methodologies, a specialized intelligence and a few common sense details can make all the difference. Perhaps you consult your animal spirit guides. Listen to your body, such an intelligent “animal”. Kinesiology is a healing system that does just that by testing muscle responses to questions. Some unexpected answers can come up as your particular solutions. The Moon changes into Gemini at 7:45pm,

lightening up the energy. Go out, have some fun and get away from the pressures of the day.

Saturday, November 8

Emotional dramas are on high, especially favorable for arts and the fashion industry, but out of whack on some levels. If we have been holding our feelings in too long, they may just burst out. Sometimes we don’t behave to our highest potential. There is a great deal of joy in the air today that must clearly be expressed, and a potential rash of spending sprees. A few days from now, though, a very different mood may have us wishing we had curbed any extravagance. Keep close guard over your credit cards and don’t fall into consumerism addiction. Make sure you really love any purchase. Go for quality over quantity. Mercury slips into Scorpio at 5:10pm for several weeks of deep analysis as we dig down and weed out negative thinking from our vocabulary as best we can.

Sunday, November 9

A Void of Course Moon from 10:38am into tomorrow gives us an extended and welcome respite to prepare for the rather intense week ahead. We are getting that looming “deadline” feeling again, with increasing tension in the air, but we don’t have to let it squash the brightness of this day. Get some fresh air or fresh scenery to lighten up the intensity. Fresh perspectives may pop in to for a change of view.

Monday, November 10

This is a huge day. The Moon moves into Cancer at 2:38am, soon to join the major action of the Pluto-Uranus Square today and into Wednesday. Mars makes a powerful statement, activating themes of Pluto, god of death and rebirth, then sparking off electrical, revolutionary Uranus. This is a relentless, powerpacked dynamic, which we have been building toward this week, all month, if not all year. Mars ratchets up the action and the inevitable. First responder teams are called into action. We may experience a mix of events, including a definitive power shift or government shutdown, and possibly some significant environmental activity, storms, violence or other global tragedy. This highly challenging energy could also engineer a different, unexpected manifestation. Stand your ground, feeling the power of the Earth rise up through you and do what needs to be done. Obstacles can be overcome with a new plan of action, responsive to the agenda of the Pluto-Uranus Square. Any resulting destruction needs to be evaluated in the rebuilding process to cooperate with the natural environment. We have a great opportunity here, but at a cost. Venus is closing on in a meet-up with Saturn, further emphasizing economic impact, potential losses and strong emotions.

Tuesday, November 11

We feel the full impact today of the current major global changeup, possibly with some shock and fear. We need to call upon our emotional resilience and courage as we respond to the urgent needs of the moment, with faith that this, too, will work out. So many of us feel the urge to help, demonstrating Neptune’s ongoing realization that we are all in this together. Step up and be counted. Another Neptunian response is prayer and meditation. 44 Conscious Community - November 2014

It is now a proven fact that focused meditation groups can lessen crime in the surrounding area. Psychic abilities are heightened as well. It’s natural to feel overwhelmed. Care for yourself and your loved ones. Surprising developments bring some relief, and come from some unexpected quarters. Power plays continue, as the old guard pushes the edge of control, even as new leadership maneuvers to take the reins. Translating this to personal terms, we are stretched to new ways of doing things, looking for inspiration around and within us.

Wednesday, November 12

A Void of Course Moon at 3:17am gives us little time to settle down, before the Moon goes into fire sign Leo at 12:44pm. We have more exact planetary meet-ups in this week, driving relentless change. Though we feel the impact all day, we experience a peak halfhour of intensity starting at 7:00pm, as two powerful planetary meet-ups culminate. Venus meets up with Saturn for a major reality check connected to finances, values and difficult emotions. This can be a depressing combination that forces us to deeply face the urgency of transformation and letting go. A strong aspect of personal work (and leadership) today is to channel intense feelings from the heart, rather than fear. We have a basic choice in life: to come from fear or from love. Where are you coming from? It takes great courage of heart to react from our highest self and in the highest interests for everyone in the situation. At the same time, Mars and Uranus square off, igniting an intensified level of the global revolution. Various factions are at war, some behind the scenes, in the current world-shaking power shift. Innovative initiatives, leading edge technologies and unconventional means are applied to turn the tide.

Thursday, November 13

A highly creative opportunity is on hand, inviting us to tap into the heart of the current chaos, to unlock and release emerging solutions based on the natural geometries of life. Sacred geometry is on display on all levels of Nature as well as fine arts. Planet Earth expresses and supports patterns with the most resonance. Part of the bigger change now is that, due to cosmic influences, the underlying patterning is evolving into a more complex design. It is as if a large crystal in the center of the Earth is being reshaped. We are experience this change from the inside of the Earth, as well as from heightened electrical influx in the higher atmospheres. If we are aware of this, we can be really juiced up today. Anything can and is happening. We are awakening to the new Dream Vision of the Earth.

Friday, November 14

The Leo Moon enhances this week’s rare and raw creative potential. A great outpouring of heart energy, perhaps accompanied by solar flares from the Sun, is heightening the energy field. Leadership becomes a co-creative process in ways rarely witnessed to carve out a new playing field. A Void of Course Moon at 8:54pm extends the creative tension. Keep focused. It would be easy to get carried away by an overexuberance that hampers effectiveness. This is a time to enjoy the great play of life, not for playing around. The divine feminine is

present and directing the high drama. Perhaps there will be actual sightings, at Medjugorje, Lourdes, Mexico or various other places of her choice. Are you aware of the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Hope in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where an official sighting of the Holy Mother took place?

behavior and abrupt words that offend. We need to watch our tempers and maintain our calm and remember to be kind. We are all under a lot of stress. We need to remind each other of that fact. Generous, loving hearts win the day.

Saturday, November 15

A long Void of Course Moon extends through the day, continuing harmonious conversations that are going well. This is a good time to talk things over with partners, without needing to make any firm decisions. In general we are all checking in with each other to talk over recent happenings and reach further understanding of issues that are close to finalizing. We are coming to terms with decisions that have been made and seeing our way forward, slowly but surely. The Moon enters Scorpio late, at 11:31pm, ramping up the intensity.

A Virgo Moon starts at 1:08am, usually an efficient sign. Its interface with Neptune early in the morning suggests coffee in bed and a leisurely start to the day. After noon, chores get done and whatever else is on top of the list. A lot of factors are realigning this week, under the pressure of a looming deadline, as we work to resolve issues that have been on tap even since last fall. It feels like an era is coming to a close. We need to keep the bright side in view, even as we feel a sense of loss. It’s no use pining for the “good old days,” which were never really so. Let’s stay present and get as much pleasure out of each moment as it comes.

Sunday, November 16

Early this morning, there is a subtle shift in the energy fields as Neptune turns to forward motion. You may be one of the sensitive people that tune in. A more obvious change is that of Venus entering Sagittarius at 1:05pm. After weeks of emotional intensity and drama, highs and lows, the general emotional tone lifts to a lighter feeling of enthusiasm and optimism, infused with a sense of freedom and motivation to move toward a goal. We have been working things out at a deep levels, financial, emotional, and even artistic, tapping deep creative resourcefulness. We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and need to maintain focus a little longer for a sense of accomplishment. Extra will power is available today, to help overcome a longing to lie back and float on the sea in some tropical paradise.

Monday, November 17

Even during the Void of Course Moon this morning, starting at 5:12am, some of us are still at it, taking care of loose ends, cleaning up, clearing the desk, crossing things off the list and rearranging our priorities for the week. We are putting some issues behind us, dusting off our hands as in done deal. Others of us take full advantage of the downtime feeling and find a way to extend the weekend or go in to work late. When the Moon goes into Libra at 1:30pm, a social mood invites conversation, news and feedback. There is general agreement about things that need to be addressed and worked out. An overtone of kindness smoothes and soothes relationships, especially sweet between partners and lovers. A big lesson this year has been learning to appreciate each other for who we are.

Tuesday, November 18

Wednesday, November 19

Thursday, November 20

A delicious sense of leisure, self-indulgence, sweetness, beauty and style infuse the day, favoring fashion, music and the arts in general. Kindliness and graciousness continue to sweeten the day, making such a difference to the results of anything we do. The day feels especially overshadowed by the divine feminine, spreading a deep spiritual wave which we have felt on and off since that powerful October 23 solar eclipse. Love is in the wavelengths of the sunlight. We can almost melt in appreciation of the goodness and beauty of life. At the same time, good things are happening by some extraordinary means, infusing the high quality of today’s energy into the business of the day.

Friday, November 21

The last day of Scorpio and this special eclipsed Moon cycle winds down to a final conclusion that feels bigger than just what has occurred during this last month. In fact, we are getting close to finishing the whole, transformative two and a half year passage of Saturn in Scorpio. Though not complete until near the end of December, we are feeling how close it is. Think back to what was going on with you in the fall of 2011. Honor the losses and the gains, as well as how much you have let go of and how much you have changed. Be forgiving of yourself and others, even as you look forward to what has now become possible. The Moon is Void of Course at 11:54pm for a few short hours before the New Moon.

SAGITTARIUS, the ARCHER Saturday, November 22

It may take a little more time to settle some of those “done” deals, as if we have to wring out every last drop. The Moon plugs into the Pluto-Uranus Square yet again, for some serious dialogue that helps to settle some old business and open the way forward on this tipping point day. The Earth may be rocking and rolling more than usual lately. There is likely some contention and confrontation. Some people want things their way, taking control, creating friction in negotiations. Impatience leads to rude

NEW MOON at 1 SAGITTARIUS, 6:31am CST HAPPY BIRTHDAY, enthusiastic Sagittarians! The Sun enters Sagittarius, the sign of The Archer, at 3:39am, soon joined by the Moon at 6:19am. Venus joins the New Moon again this time, though we can’t see it when merged in the light of the Sun. A Sagittarian New Moon carries a very different flavor than one emerging from the depths of Scorpio. Sagittarius is forward-looking, optimistic, outgoing, adventurous and freedom-loving, enjoying the Great Outdoors, appreciating the wilderness, on the trail of “the bear who went over the mountain to see what she could see. She saw another mountain...” and on and on she went. We seek the freedom and vistas of the open

road. A goal-oriented sign ruled by “far-seeing” Jupiter, we aim our sights on a fresh target. This is a sign of imagination, intuition, and of the great myths and stories of all time. Some great movies could come out today that capture the universal spirit of the times. We head into the next few weeks, full of fire, enthusiasm and motivation. First catch hold of the Big Dream, the vision you want to be living. Don’t be afraid to aspire high. Aim to the Moon and beyond. Join in “The Sound of Music” sing-along-song: “Climb every mountain, Ford every stream, Follow every highway, until you find your Dream.” That’s what this New Moon day is all about.

Sunday, November 23

As we aim our vision into the future, we can sharpen the Archer’s arrow and focus our minds on strategies to accomplish our aim. We can also target the next two or three years in terms of where we want to be. Tap into the power of imagination, as we are doing here, imaging the potentials inherent in astrological cycles. There are many means to fuel our vision and engage the creative life force. Any project that engages our full attention can be incredibly creative and inspiring, evoking depth of perception beyond rational understanding. We are coming closer and closer to the next level of our collective awakening. Bring it on! The Void of Course Moon at 9:17pm prolongs the creative surge, merging our hearts with others to evoke an even deeper wellspring of love and re-creative vitality.

Monday, November 24

Refreshed and inspired, we get down to business as the Moon enters Capricorn this morning at 10:32am. We become intent on grounding the vision and outlining a plan of action. We take out and shake out the current operating strategy and apply new creative insights. We analyze what has been working, what has been accomplished and what now needs to be done. New factors come into play. We are continually revamping the “business plan” of our lives. This is a good few days to push the refresh button. Taking into consideration emerging trends of the time, we can reframe our aims, see how effectively we are conveying our vision. This is a particularly good time to rewrite a mission statement or public relations materials. Maybe some new mottos, styles of advertising slogans are coming into vogue. What inspires you?

Tuesday, November 25

We do some serious thinking today, as we continue to scrutinize what is working and what is not, to be realistic about what we can accomplish in a certain period of time. The grand vision inspires, but we are getting down to the nitty-gritty about what to do first. Cut a doable chunk to focus on. When that is done, we can proceed from there. Give thought to the effect your words have on others. It’s may be all too easy to drop into a negative mindset. Catch yourself and turn it around. Likewise look at how you are talking to yourself. Be grateful when someone points this out. Be your own coach, and inspire others as well. The Moon catches up with the Pluto-Uranus Square today, for a big reality check. The status of the collective transformation is clearly demonstrated in some profound way, giving us pause to deeply consider the implications and take action. 46 Conscious Community - November 2014

Wednesday, November 26

The Moon is Void of Course at 9:31am, leaving us with much to think about. Important meetings are best scheduled or rescheduled for afternoon, giving us time to consider how to present topics of discussion. The Moon goes into Aquarius at 1:23pm, after which we have more perspective and meetings produce more results. Much enthusiasm is generated behind new goals that address timely concerns. Discussions invite unconventional solutions, generated by the co-creative pooling of like-minded individuals. Some ideas may be wild, off-the-wall, unrealistic pie-in-the-sky fantasies, but get us thinking out of the box. Laughter goes a long way to inspire imaginative ideas as well as group harmony. Some groups and organizations are defining forward-looking trends that capture public interest.

Thursday, November 27

On this Thanksgiving Day, we have a lot to be thankful for. With the Moon in Aquarius, it is a lovely day to join together with others, in smaller and larger gatherings, generating a current of joy that overcomes any knotty moments when personalities clash. Old wounds can be healed and hurts forgiven. Some relationships move to a new level of understanding. Many of us will reunite with old friends, or meet new special people. Synchronicities abound. Enthusiasm moves to another level as Mercury heads into Sagittarius at 8:27pm tonight. Some latecomers may join the party from afar.

Friday, November 28

A Void of Course Moon at 11:15am may leave us with some uncomfortable, unfinished business from yesterday, something that we neglected to take care of or must attend to. It rather spoils the party. Maybe we indulged a little too much and are paying for it today. Responsibilities call, but we may not be in the mood or frame of mind to attend to them. It’s all too easy to avoid issues in the holiday mode. Shake yourself out of any grumpiness so you can do what needs to be done. The Moon enters Pisces at 4:03pm, enhancing the holiday mood. Some people are taking advantage by overindulging even more. Watch for absent-minded or downright out of it people over the weekend. This will most likely be a rather hectic and crazy madhouse of a major shopping day.

Saturday, November 29

A bit of mayhem continues today and into tomorrow, so enter the fray as you wish. Another stream of influence is a heightened spiritual tone, as many of us continue feel thankful. With Mercury, Venus and the Sun all in Sagittarius, religious and spiritual themes are emphasized, in some cases showing up the difference between religion and spirituality. Sagittarius is the sign of the truth-seeker and the truth-speaker. Its shadow side is opinionated, self-righteous and fundamentalist. No doubt we will witness some instances of exaggerated religious zeal on display. It may be difficult to discuss beliefs and politics today, as people square off from their intolerant corners. As you can, let opinionated comments roll on by. Argument is useless. You can’t change people’s deeply held beliefs easily. You can offer kindness and another piece of pie.

Sunday, November 30

The energy has a more gentle flow today, with a feeling of some crisis averted or passed. The Moon goes Void of Course at 2:48pm, offering down time to bring the weekend to an end. The Moon already heads into energizing Aries at 7:14pm, kicking up the tempo to start a new week and a new month.
