This is the spirit of our Architects Powerlist 2025, this cover is a celebration of visionaries who are not only redefining our built environment but doing so with a deep respect for people, culture, and sustainability.

EMPOWERING Women IN DESIGN

Professor Louise Valentine, Head of the Design School at HeriotWatt University Dubai, explores how mentorship, advocacy, and self-development can support and uplift women in the design industry.

culture are pertinent and impactful. The design industry has made significant strides in gender diversity. However, genuine empowerment and support for women in design require more than just increasing representation; they demand an intentional and thoughtful approach to mentorship, advocacy, and self-development. Women in design thrive when encouraged to explore beyond their comfort zones, have strong mentors, and are equipped with the skills to navigate challenges with confidence and resilience.

Building an international mentorship network

One of the most impactful ways to support women in design is by encouraging them to create a strong network of mentors and allies.

Design is a global industry; international mentorship exposes diverse perspectives, opportunities, and skill sets. Access to mentors at different career stages whether seasoned professionals or peers with fresh perspectives, ensures a continuous exchange of knowledge and guidance. Mentors play a crucial role in walking beside women as they develop, listening to their concerns, offering advice, and signposting them to opportunities that align with their goals. It is essential to create a support system that remains accessible throughout a designer’s career, helping them navigate transitions, industry shifts, and leadership roles.

Encouraging growth beyond comfort zones

A common barrier that women in design face is selfdoubt. They can hesitate to take on new challenges because they perceive a lack of expertise or fear failure. A simple yet powerful lesson to adopt is- ‘If you don’t know, give it a go’. Encouraging women to step outside their comfort zones allows them to gain first-hand experience, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills. This philosophy applies to various aspects of design, whether learning a new software tool, leading a project, or speaking at industry events. The only way to gain experience is by leaping. Providing a safe space to experiment and make mistakes without judgment is crucial in cultivating self-assured and resilient designers.

Honesty and authenticity as core principles

A fundamental aspect of empowering women in design is nurturing a culture of honesty. Constructive, transparent feedback is far more valuable than empty encouragement. Being honest about strengths, areas for improvement, and industry realities equips women with the knowledge and resilience needed to succeed. This honesty should extend to advocating for fair treatment, addressing workplace biases, and recognising women’s contributions. By speaking openly and regularly – not just during performance reviews - about challenges, successes, and often outdated industry norms, we can create a more informed and prepared generation of designers.

Finding and using their voice

Women in design must practice speaking up in meetings, client presentations, or industry discussions. Confidence in communication is key to professional growth, and the only way to develop it is through practice. Leaning into uncomfortable situations, whether

negotiating a salary, challenging an unfair decision, or pitching a bold idea, helps women find their voice and assert their value.

Public speaking workshops, leadership training, and mentorship programmes focussed on communication skills can provide invaluable support. The more women exercise their voices, the more they contribute to shaping an inclusive and diverse design industry.

Championing women with integrity

True empowerment comes from consistent, sincere advocacy. Supporting women in design should not be limited to private encouragement, it must also be visible. Championing their work, nominating them for leadership roles, celebrating their achievements, and recommending them for projects or speaking engagements encourage a culture of inclusion. Integrity is key in advocacy. Support must be genuine, without performative gestures. Ensuring women receive due credit, backing their ideas in meetings, and mentoring upcoming talent are all tangible ways to make a difference.

Encouraging the strength to ask for help

One of the most underrated yet powerful professional skills is knowing when to ask for help. Many women hesitate to seek assistance, fearing they might appear less capable. Creating a culture where asking for help is seen as a strength rather than a weakness is essential. Encouraging designers to reach out whether for career advice, technical guidance, or professional development nurtures collaboration and continuous learning. Having clear channels for mentorship, workplace support, and industry networking can significantly improve career growth.

Harnessing intuition and lifelong learning

Design is not just about technical skills but also instinct, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Encouraging women to trust their intuition whether in design decisions, career moves, or leadership helps them develop confidence in their judgment. At the same time, continuous learning is crucial. Reading, attending workshops, taking online courses, and engaging in discussions help designers stay ahead in an evolving industry. Investing in self-awareness and personal growth ensures sustained success and fulfillment.

Empowering and supporting women in the industry is not a one-time initiative but an ongoing commitment. Building mentorship networks, encouraging risk-taking, promoting honest feedback, amplifying women’s voices, and motivating them for continuous learning can create a thriving environment where women in design excel. Through collective effort, we will shape an industry that values and nurtures the talent of women at every stage of their careers.

Chris Balwin Group President, MillerKnoll

What are some of the major milestones MillerKnoll has achieved in design over the past year, both globally and in the MEA region?

Over the past year, MillerKnoll has continued to shape the future of design through innovation, adaptability, and a commitment to creating inspiring spaces. Globally, we have launched new workplace solutions that enhance flexibility, integrate smart technology, and improve accessibility—ensuring our designs evolve with the needs of today’s workforce.

In the MEA region, we have focused on collaborating with key industry stakeholders to deliver workspace solutions that align with the region's unique cultural and business dynamics. This includes introducing designs that balance modern functionality with regional preferences, such as height-adjustable workstations and adaptable seating solutions. Strengthening relationships with clients and designers across the region has been a priority, enabling us to better understand and respond to the evolving demands of the market.

How do you maintain the unique identities of MillerKnoll brands while driving growth?

MillerKnoll is the overarching organization, and while our brands share a DNA of great design, each maintains its own unique identity. We are committed to preserving the individualism and character of our brands, ensuring they serve a wide variety of customers with the best and most distinctive design solutions. At the same time, we drive

growth by leveraging the scale of the MillerKnoll collective, expanding our presence in markets, and innovating across our portfolio to meet the evolving needs of businesses and consumers globally.

Can you elaborate on MillerKnoll’s commitment to innovative workspace solutions globally?

We start with research to understand evolving client needs. Wellbeing, Connection, and Change define our approach. As offices evolve, we focus on creating adaptable, human-centered

Chris Balwin, Group President, MillerKnoll

work environments, ensuring sustainability, efficiency, and seamless service.

Our Design with Impact framework addresses the human need of employees to improve their wellbeing, fosters a sense of community and connection, and helps organizations navigate, prepare and design for change through flexible work environments. Collaborative spaces in office designs, promote employee interaction and idea-sharing. Hot-desking or shared seating has increased as the office space needs to flex with the increasing number of people attending the office daily.

The demand for versatile seating and storage solutions that can easily adapt to different tasks and work settings has also increased. Across the MillerKnoll collective, these insights elevated chairs like Aeron, Cosm and Zeph & OE1 storage trolley from Herman Miller, Ollo by Knoll, Ruby from NaughtOne or the AAC from Hay.

A testament to our commitment to innovative workspace solutions, the Herman Miller Bay Work Pod is designed with privacy, focus, and accessibility in mind. It offers a quiet sanctuary within busy office environments, embodying our mission to create workplaces that foster well-being, connection, and adaptability to changing work styles.

How does MillerKnoll prioritize sustainability and material innovation?

At MillerKnoll, we believe business should be a Force for Good—not just in words, but in action. Sustainability is at the core of our ethos, driving how we reduce our carbon footprint, design out waste, and source better materials. We take a holistic approach, working not only within our company but also alongside our suppliers to ensure a sustainability-first mindset across our entire value chain.

Our Better World Report outlines our global sustainability commitments and how we embed sustainability into our operations through our mission: Design for the Good of Humankind. We have set three major focus areas for 2050:

• Carbon: Design the lowest carbon footprint products and commit to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

• Materials: Use sustainable, 100% bio-based or recycled materials by 2050.

• Circularity: Create timeless, durable products with zero waste by 2050.

Our Sustainability highlights from the report include:

• Energy Reduction: Approximately 75% of electricity currently comes from renewable sources.

• Waste Reduction: Reduced total waste within MillerKnoll’s global facilities by approximately 50% since FY2022.

• Smart Packaging: Reduced use of single-use plastic packaging – including polystyrene and bubble wrap – by 52% since 2020.

• Sustainable Materials: Used innovative materials like bamboo-based upholstery, eelgrass and biomass-balanced foam.

What were the key challenges in integrating Herman Miller and Knoll?

Bringing together two iconic brands required thoughtful integration, particularly in aligning operations, technology, and teams while preserving the unique strengths of each

brand. However, our shared commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and craftsmanship made the transition smoother. Rather than viewing integration as a challenge, we saw it as an opportunity to redefine modern design for the 21st century. By leveraging our combined expertise, global reach, and design heritage, we have created a stronger, more innovative collective that anticipates and shapes the future of the industry. Now united as MillerKnoll, we continue to lead industry transformation by offering a broader portfolio of innovative solutions and delivering exceptional design, functionality, and sustainability. Our collective scale enables us to serve customers with greater efficiency, foster deeper collaboration, and create more meaningful growth opportunities across our global markets.

What design trends will shape the future of the workplace?

Future workplaces will be more adaptable, employee-centered, and focused on both collaboration and well-being. Companies will likely continue embracing design elements that foster innovation, support a range of work styles, and help retain top talent. Some of the most important design trends to look out for:

• Collaboration: Encouraging teamwork and innovation within the workspace.

• Wellness: Creating environments that support mental and physical well-being.

• Flexibility: Designing adaptable spaces that can evolve with changing needs.

• Smart Offices: Workplaces will integrate IoT-based smart solutions to enhance efficiency, comfort, and sustainability.

• Technology Integration: Offices will adopt advanced tools like VR collaboration and high-end video conferencing for seamless remote and in-office work.

• Personalization and Autonomy: Future workspaces will offer customizable lighting, temperature, and workstations for enhanced comfort and productivity.

• Biophilic Design: Offices will integrate natural elements like plants, green walls, and open windows to boost well-being and productivity.

Clients want spaces that inspire innovation, so offices today need to be better than they were five years ago. And, of course, sustainability will remain a constant underlying theme.

What leadership lessons have shaped your career, and how do you mentor others?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that leadership is all about people—having the right team in the right roles makes all the difference. Creating an environment where people thrive starts with empathy and understanding their strengths. Active listening builds trust and opens the door to innovation. Adaptability is key in an ever-evolving business landscape. Great leaders pivot, respond, and drive change. >>>

Stacy Stewart Regional Director MEA, MillerKnoll

How do you approach expanding MillerKnoll’s brand experience into MEA markets?

Expanding MillerKnoll’s brand experience into the MEA region is about more than just reaching new markets—it is about fostering meaningful connections with customers, designers, and businesses. Our approach is guided by three key principles: deep market understanding, strategic partnerships, and brand authenticity.

We immerse ourselves in each market’s culture, collaborating with local teams to ensure our brands remain authentic and relevant. By partnering with architects, designers, and dealers, we create tailored experiences for the region through our physical spaces, workplace solutions, and digital platforms. Our goal is to shape inspiring spaces across the MEA region while staying true to our purpose: designing for the good of humankind.

What role does technology play in shaping the future of the contract furniture business?

Technology is playing an increasingly vital role in shaping the future of the contract furniture business, especially as businesses increasingly seek solutions that cater to evolving work environments and employee needs. With advancements that streamline manufacturing processes, enhance customer experience, and create smarter, more flexible furniture solutions, technology plays a crucial role in shaping the future of the contract furniture business.

Smart furniture integration solutions such as desks with built-in wireless charging, adjustable height controls, are becoming more common. These features not only enhance user comfort but also align with modern needs for efficiency and wellness in the workplace.

How did your experience as Regional Director MEA influence your leadership style?

My years of experience leading teams across the Middle East and Africa have deepened my appreciation for the diverse cultures and working styles that exist, both among our customers and within our team. This diversity has fostered a strong emphasis on delivering results, providing mentorship, and creating an environment that values flexibility and choice in how individuals approach their work.

What strategies do you use to align MEA sales teams across multiple regions?

Aligning MEA sales teams across multiple regions ensures that our teams are working toward the same goals and driving growth effectively. Some key strategies are Clear, Unified Goals and Vision establishing common objectives that align with the company’s broader vision. Whether it's increasing revenue, expanding into new markets, or enhancing customer satisfaction, these goals should be communicated clearly to every region. Each team should understand how their efforts contribute to the MEA and global success of the company.

Different regions will have unique cultural nuances, customer expectations, and market conditions. Tailoring our approach to each region while still maintaining alignment with the global strategy is critical.

To measure success uniformly, it’s important to have a shared set of performance metrics (KPIs) across all regions. We also provide our teams with the tools, resources, and training they need to succeed.

Stacy Stewart, Regional Director MEA, MillerKnoll

Fostering a collaborative culture and leveraging technology enhances sales visibility across regions. Continuous regional feedback ensures effective strategy implementation. Aligning incentives with sales goals and using real-time reporting helps identify trends, improvements, and opportunities.

How do you integrate social impact into your leadership and business initiatives?

Integrating social impact into leadership and business initiatives is essential for creating a positive, long-lasting effect on both the community and the environment to drive meaningful change. We create social impact by offering sustainable products, reducing the company’s carbon footprint, and ensuring fair labor practices are woven into every aspect of the business, from product design to operations and customer interactions.

Employees from across MillerKnoll brands participate in an annual Global Day of Purpose each November – a day for employees around the world to give back to their communities. Each year, MillerKnoll will designate this day as a paid day off so all 11,000 employees can participate and make a positive difference. We believe in using our business as a force for good. When we all come together and make an impact on our communities, we’re continuing our legacy of designing for the good of humankind and creating a better world.

While Killa Design’s roots are in Dubai, its impact is global, with projects spanning the Maldives, Angola, the United States, Iceland, Saudi Arabia, and more. From cutting-edge museums to masterplans and hyper-luxury hospitality, the firm continues to drive meaningful change in the way architecture interacts with its environment.

Recognised for his influence, Shaun Killa was ranked number one as the ‘Most Powerful Middle East Architect’ in 2017, 2021, and 2022. Killa Design has also been awarded ‘Architectural Firm of the Year’ by Construction Week for four consecutive years and won ‘Best Young Firm’ at the Architizer A+Awards in 2023. The firm has cemented its place among the world’s leading architectural practices, featuring in Building Design’s coveted WA100 list for 2024 and 2025.

Shaun remains deeply committed to fostering the next generation of architects. Leading a team of over 120 professionals from more than 30 nationalities, he continues to champion innovation, sustainability, and design excellence, ensuring that Killa Design’s work not only defines skylines but helps shape a more sustainable future.

Moreover, the firm’s culture of inclusivity promotes gender equality, with an emphasis on supporting female leadership. By fostering mentorship opportunities and celebrating female accomplishments, Killa Design actively cultivates an environment where talent flourishes. The firm remains committed to this ethos, ensuring that inclusivity and collaboration continue to drive its success.

As Killa Design enters its 10th year, it has already left a significant mark on the architectural landscape of the Middle East and globally. The firm remains at the forefront of sustainability and innovation, shaping the future of architecture through ambitious and transformative projects.

One of Killa Design’s most notable recent achievements is Shebara Resort, a hyper-luxury eco-resort located 25km offshore in Saudi Arabia. Operating entirely off-grid, Shebara achieves zero emissions, water, and waste while being powered by over 100,000sqm of

solar panels. Inspired by a string of pearls, its overwater villas blend seamlessly with the sea and sky, creating an almost invisible yet otherworldly experience. The resort showcases Saudi Arabia’s rich marine biodiversity while setting a new global benchmark for luxury eco-tourism.

Another milestone project is Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, scheduled to open in early 2025. The final chapter in an iconic trilogy alongside the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Hotel, this resort seamlessly merges traditional and futuristic design. Its fluid, yacht-inspired form offers an unparalleled hospitality experience, complete with breathtaking views of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah and a vibrant superyacht marina.

The Museum of the Future remains a defining project for Killa Design. Its torusshaped structure, adorned with flowing Arabic calligraphy, represents a fusion of heritage and innovation. More than just a building, it is a global icon and a centre for exploring humanity’s future, embodying architecture’s ability to inspire, challenge, and innovate on an unprecedented scale.

Another landmark project, the Address Beach Resort, adds to Dubai’s skyline with its twin towers connected by the world’s tallest occupied skybridge. Home to the highest infinity pool in the world, the resort exemplifies urban luxury and architectural audacity.

Killa Design is at the forefront of creating zero-energy and water-resort hotels. The firm also actively engages in staff wellness initiatives, including group triathlons and sailing programmes, fostering a collaborative and healthconscious work environment.

Among Killa Design’s most anticipated projects is One Central, a hyper-luxury development in Dubai commissioned by DWTC and developed with Nick Candy. Featuring three branded towers, two of which house luxury hotels, the project boasts an avant-garde design language that seamlessly integrates with Dubai’s urban fabric while elevating its skyline.

In northwest Saudi Arabia, Leyja is being developed as a breathtaking tourism

Additionally, the firm has several museums, educational centres, and masterplans under development across the UAE and Saudi Arabia, along with luxury hospitality projects in Angola and the United States.

“The way we design is constantly evolving, but at its core, architecture is about people, place, and purpose. While technology has enhanced how we visualise and refine ideas, it remains a tool, not a substitute for the fundamentals of design. Understanding a site’s constraints, prioritising sustainability, shaping the user

destination. Nestled within a dramatic wadi, flanked by mountains towering up to 300m, Leyja serves as a sanctuary for wellbeing and longevity. Its mirrored volumes blend harmoniously with the landscape, creating an immersive retreat rooted in tranquillity and renewal.

Zamani Islands in the Maldives is another flagship project. Spanning eight islands within an expansive lagoon, this eco-luxury development includes three high-end resorts and the Maldives’ first superyacht marina. Notably, it will be the first fully renewable-energy-powered resort in the region, setting a precedent for sustainable hospitality worldwide.

Killa Design is also working on a signature tower in Baku, Azerbaijan. Set to become the city’s tallest building, the tower will feature a super-luxury branded hotel, a casino, and residences.

experience, and balancing budgets will always be at the heart of what we do. Looking ahead, the future of architecture isn’t just about adopting new tools, it’s about using them to drive real innovation. Our focus remains on zero-energy, zero-waste projects, pioneering new construction methodologies, reducing material waste, and improving efficiency, all while maintaining the highest standards of design excellence. True progress comes from integrating these advancements thoughtfully, ensuring every project has a lasting impact, both environmentally and experientially,” says Shaun.

To support its growing portfolio, Killa Design has opened a new studio in Cape Town. Plans are also underway to establish a studio in London within the year.

REGIONAL DESIGN DIRECTOR, MIDDLE EAST AtkinsRéalis

n the ever-evolving world of architecture, few names resonate as profoundly as Edward McIntosh. As the Regional Design Director for the Middle East at AtkinsRéalis, Edward's journey is a testament to innovation, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

A Fulbright Scholar and former university lecturer, Edward's academic prowess is matched only by his professional achievements. After graduating from Columbia University in New York, he garnered numerous design awards and developed his thesis under the legendary architect Sir Peter Cook. His work on "Inhabiting the Virtual World" explored the hybridization of the built environment and virtual realms, a visionary concept that anticipated the societal shifts we witness today.

Edward's groundbreaking piece, "Autonomous Living Units," showcased at the 2010 Saint Etienne Biennale, was a pioneering

effort that bridged the physical and virtual worlds. Recreated within the Second Life gaming platform, it played a pivotal role in the early days of Bitcoin. This project exemplifies his ability to foresee and shape the future, always staying ahead of the curve.

Under Edward's creative leadership, AtkinsRéalis’ design studio has become a beacon of innovation, leveraging philosophy, anthropology, and technology to craft visions and bring them to life. The studio's recent milestones are a testament to this ethos. The Wadi Safar Equestrian and Polo Club by Diriyah Company, a project won through an open international architectural competition, is now moving to the construction phase. Covering 110,000 square meters, the Wadi Safar Equestrian and Polo Club is designed to be a center for exceptional horsemanship, attracting horse enthusiasts worldwide.

The New Murabba and the Mukaab, Riyadh’s ambitious vision for a new modern downtown, were also won

through an international competition and are further examples of the studio's prowess. This downtown reflects the local culture, identity, and ambition, establishing itself as a pivotal center for Riyadh, the Kingdom, and the world.

Focussed on global partnerships, New Murabba blends nature with modern design, valuing diversity to create vibrant communities in Saudi Arabia's heart.

One of the most talked-about trends in the design world today is the integration of AI. Since 2022, AtkinsRéalis’ design studio has been at the forefront of this movement, experimenting with text-to-image AI tools and expanding its repertoire with the influx of talented young colleagues. By training bespoke AI models, the studio is establishing AI-assisted design streams that blend traditional techniques with futuristic approaches. Techniques such as LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation of Large Language Models) and Gaussian splatting are employed to facilitate interactive design processes, improve client engagement with high-quality visuals, and allow architects to explore new forms and structures efficiently.

This combination pushes the boundaries of traditional design, making it easier to visualize and refine complex architectural concepts.

At AtkinsRéalis, the synergy between human intuition and computational power is unlocking unprecedented creative possibilities. The studio's innovative workflows, inspired by industries outside of design and construction, are reimagining the architectural process. By creating experience maps before developing buildings, the Company is adding unexpected value for clients and refining project briefs based on a holistic vision of the built environment.

For example, the cohesiveness of design throughout all assets of the Mukaab was a key focus for AtkinsRéalis’ team. The strategy was to be precise in the number of architectural languages used across the

vast Mukaab ecosystem, ensuring that the design elements could evoke either Najdi and Salmani features or Riyadh’s unique topography. The aspirations of the Mukaab’s technological capabilities aim at being the first of a kind and will be of a nature and scale never seen before by becoming a literal gateway for other worlds and realities. To achieve this, the Mukaab will leverage a number of different technologies to create a multi-sensorial, immersive experience with the goal of taking visitors into new realms.

relentless innovation. As he continues to push the boundaries of design, the future of architecture in the Middle East looks brighter than ever.

Edward's observations on the future reveal, "Looking ahead, the design and architecture industry is one of boundless innovation and transformative impact. At AtkinsRéalis, we will continue to lead the way in integrating AI and other advanced tools into our design processes, creating environments that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional and sustainable.”

He further emphasises, “The future of architecture lies in our ability to blend the physical and virtual worlds, creating immersive experiences that enhance the way we live, work, and interact with our surroundings. I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and confident that our team will continue to set new standards of excellence in the industry. Together, we will shape a future where architecture and design are at the forefront of societal progress, driving positive change and enriching the lives of people in the Middle East region and beyond."

Nestled in the heart of Sobha Hartland, this visionary masterpiece, designed by Bruno Guélaff, Design Middle East’s Architect of the Year 2024, redefines luxury living. Positioned along a stunning 2.7km crystal-clear lagoon and framed by a palm-lined promenade, the villa offers a tranquil retreat with breathtaking views. The villa’s grand entry is a testament to refined materiality, where smooth beige micro-cement blends effortlessly with timeless travertine tiles. This harmonious interplay of textures creates a distinct yet inviting aesthetic, setting the tone for the home’s sophisticated ambiance.

Floating Horizon Slates and Greened Slabs define La Maison Horizontale’s architectural essence, seamlessly blending structure with nature. The Horizon Slates appear to float effortlessly, framing the villa’s bold, modern silhouette, while hanging gardens soften its geometry, adding organic tranquility. Meanwhile, the Greened Slabs wrap the home in lush greenery, creating a living façade that harmonizes with its surroundings. Their warm beige micro-cement tones pay homage to old Dubai, striking a perfect balance between tradition and innovation—a signature of Bruno Guélaff’s visionary design.

The villa’s dynamic sleek grooves carve across its expansive masses, subtly transforming its bold and muscular form. This refined detailing introduces an interplay of light, shadow, and texture, adding depth and elegance to an otherwise powerful architectural statement.

RSP Dubai

Global Design Lead and Managing Director at RSP Dubai, Michael Magill is known best for his visionary designs in the region. Michael's philosophy centres on the belief that every building tells a unique story. He has been instrumental in shaping the team’s approach to design, ensuring that every project begins with a deep understanding of the people and culture it serves, as well as how architecture can elevate the connections between people and space.

Michael’s professional journey began in the UK, where his exceptional talent quickly garnered industry recognition and paved the way for his relocation to Dubai. His early exposure to a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds provided the foundation for his remarkable ability to seamlessly blend local context with global expertise.

As the Global Design Lead and Managing

Director at RSP Dubai, Michael’s role is multifaceted. He not only oversees the creative direction of all projects, ensuring designs align with clients' visions but also mentors and guides the next generation of designers. His decision to redesign the office and create more collaborative spaces is a perfect example of how he leads by example and fosters a creative environment.

Michael also co-leads RSP’s Global Design Council, a collaborative initiative that unites top designers from 13 design hubs worldwide to encourage innovation and maintain design excellence.

A standout example is Michael’s role in RSP’s first-ever cultural complex, the Hindu Mandir.

Though not Hindu himself, Michael embarked on an almost spiritual journey to deeply understand the Swamis’ traditions and values and create a concept they're proud of.

HAVEN'S concept is centred around creating a health and wellnessfocussed residential community, inspired by the calming nature of desert lagoons.

The team is currently working on several exciting projects in Malaysia, including an exciting new waterfront city master plan. While most details remain confidential, the master plan envisions a nature-infused waterfront city with panoramic views of both the natural landscape and the urban skyline. It’s a place where life meets nature, offering a unique blend of community living, luxury residences, and premium hospitality.

What sets this project apart is its holistic focus on wellness and community. From parks and gardens to premium gyms, spas, and healthcare facilities, the development is designed offering a serene retreat while remaining connected to the city life close-by.

One of the standout features is the elevated nature experiences through forest garden terraces, garden lounges, and an infinity pool. This sky oasis concept allows residents to connect with nature on a new level, creating an unparalleled lifestyle destination.

An exciting launch on the horizon for RSP is that of a premium master-planned community in Dubai. The vision was to create a living community set within lush woodlands and forest landscapes. Offering a lifestyle that is deeply connected to nature while still providing modern comforts and amenities. This master-planned community boasts a diverse range of

residential options, including typical villas, premium villas, ultraluxury villas, and apartments, totalling roughly 1,600 to 1,700 units, with around of those homes being 1,000 villas alone. What sets this project apart is its emphasis on well-being, and how wildlife has been seamlessly integrated into the fabric of the community, creating a harmonious way of living that feels like an escape into nature.

This will be the place for those who seek a healthier, more balanced lifestyle while still enjoying all the luxuries that Dubai has to offer.

In addition to the ongoing projects, the team is also set to launch the RSP Academy in the UAE. This global initiative, which is already a success at the HQ office in Singapore, is dedicated to showcasing design excellence from an academic perspective. Through collaboration with local educational institutions, their mission is to raise public awareness of exceptional projects. The Academy conducts forums, and tours, and offers insights into design thinking while promoting research and development in design.

"Over the past 15 years, our Dubai team has grown threefold, and we've had the privilege of working on some truly iconic projects that have helped shape the city’s skyline. In more recent years, we’ve partnered with some of the biggest brands in the industry to deliver a new class of living. We are excited about the future of RSP, with plans for ongoing expansion and deepening our collaboration with industry-leading brands. As for the future of architecture and design, we see huge potential in Saudi Arabia, with the momentum in the region continuing to grow. Alina VALCARCE

FOUNDER & DESIGN DIRECTOR Valcarce Architects

Alina Valcarce, Founder and Design Director of Valcarce Architects, has built an impressive career that bridges cultures, disciplines, and groundbreaking innovation in architecture. Her journey into the field was deeply influenced by her diverse upbringing and international experience.

"Growing up in Cuba and Spain, I was constantly surrounded by rich architectural history, from colonial influences to contemporary European design. That exposure ignited my passion for creating spaces that are not only aesthetically compelling but also deeply connected to their environment. My professional experience across the UK, China, India, Vietnam, and the Middle East has further shaped my approach, allowing me to blend cultural elements into designs that feel both timeless and innovative,” shares Alina.

As the leader of Valcarce Architects, Alina oversees the firm's strategic vision, project development, and creative direction. She plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, sustainability, and collaboration across all projects. Under her leadership, the firm has gained recognition for its ability to seamlessly integrate architecture with nature, crafting spaces that enhance both human experience and environmental harmony.

"Leadership, to me, is about inspiring a team to push creative boundaries while maintaining a strong sense of purpose. I prioritize a collaborative approach, where every project benefits from the diverse expertise within our team. Whether we are designing a luxury resort, a residential high-rise, or a sustainable habitat, our process is rooted in a deep understanding of the client's vision and the site's natural context,” she adds.

GAIA - LUXURY HABITAT is a pioneering concept in sustainable hospitality, designed to harmonise with the natural beauty of its surroundings.

A defining aspect of Valcarce Architects' philosophy is the seamless integration of architecture and nature, where the line between built space and landscape is blurred. Every project speaks a unique language, harmonising structures with their surroundings to create environments that feel organic, immersive, and alive. This commitment to unity between architecture and landscape ensures that each design is more than a building—it is an extension of nature itself.

Working in the Middle East has brought both opportunities and challenges, particularly in balancing rapid urbanisation with sustainability. Looking ahead, Valcarce Architects is set to expand its influence in the architecture and design industry by continuing to merge creativity with sustainability. The firm remains at the forefront of developing forward-thinking designs that cater to the evolving needs of urban living and hospitality. Their visionary approach is shaping cities where architecture is no longer a static element but a dynamic, responsive force that evolves with nature and human needs.

Alina elaborates: "The future of architecture is about creating meaningful spaces that enhance the way we live, work, and interact with nature. At Valcarce Architects, we are committed to designing environments that not only inspire but also contribute to a more sustainable and harmonious world. We are constantly exploring new technologies, materials, and methodologies to push the industry forward. Our vision is to continue shaping cities and landscapes with designs that leave a lasting positive impact.”

sharing. In 2024, she was a keynote speaker at the Architecture of the Future Summit and continues to collaborate with the American University of Sharjah’s Architecture Department as a guest critic and lecturer. Reflecting on her career, she shares:

“When I studied landscape architecture in the late 90s, we were outliers in construction—there were few jobs and little belief in the importance of nature in urban environments. Cities were concretedominated and automobile-centric, while landscape design was associated with rural living. Today, landscape architecture has become one of the fundamental pillars of successful projects. Green open spaces now form the heart of thriving communities, and cities brand themselves as ‘the most liveable’ by prioritising outdoor environments that combat climate change and enhance well-being. Especially in a hot climate like the UAE, it is vital to work with natural conditions to create comfortable outdoor spaces for Dubai’s growing population. At Studioi, we are pushing boundaries, applying innovative solutions across design, engineering, and construction to amplify the impact of landscape architecture,” says Claudia Juhre. Today, Studioi boasts a team of 500 professionals across multiple countries, dedicated to excellence. STUDIO DESIGN DIRECTOR

DSA Architects International

Since joining DSA in 2023, as Studio Design Director, Gareth Cain has made significant strides, bringing his wealth of experience from working with leading international architectural firms. With a solid

history of successfully managing teams and delivering innovative design solutions, Gareth continues to leverage his expertise to drive creative excellence at DSA, while fostering specialised knowledge within the studio. His leadership and vision benefit the firm's growth, as he applies his comprehensive understanding of design across various sectors to shape impactful, forward-thinking projects.

With over two decades of diverse experience across international markets, Gareth

has worked extensively in both the UK and the Middle East since 2011. His deep knowledge of the rapidly evolving markets in the Middle East is especially valuable given the region’s dynamic growth. Gareth’s expertise covers a broad range of sectors, including hospitality, residential, retail, commercial, and mixed-use developments. His insight into these sectors is actively shared with DSA, driving the firm’s ongoing success. His background as both an architect and interior designer brings a unique, multidisciplinary approach to every project.

Gareth emphasises the importance of DSA’s focus on the UAE, where the firm was originally established 25 years ago. "Part of our immediate strategy is a renewed emphasis on the UAE. While we’ve had considerable success in KSA and are growing our office and client base there, we want to remain an integral part of the UAE’s story of evolution," Gareth says.

In addition, Gareth highlights the firm’s drive to diversify its portfolio. DSA has long been recognised for its substantial hospitality portfolio and its iconic residential developments across Dubai. "We’re now exploring new sectors to ensure continued growth. This includes forging strategic partnerships to strengthen our presence and success in these areas," Gareth notes.

As technology rapidly evolves, Gareth stresses DSA’s commitment to staying ahead of the curve. “As for the future, DSA have always been an early adopters of design technology advances; we switched over to BIM completely for all of our projects back in 2012. More

recently, we launched D.A.R.I.A (DSA Architect of Record Intelligent Assistant), she’s an AI fed entirely on codes and standards and kept up to date and refined by our AOR team.”

Looking to the future, Gareth underscores the importance of adopting new technologies while retaining creative control.

“We all know that the adoption of new technology is key, just keeping pace with change requires constant attention. Differentiation for architects is going to come via how you adopt technology. It’s coming too fast for us to wait to be told how to use it, we can forge our way. That offers some hope for liberation from software agendas that are in danger of becoming too dominant and allows us to refocus on buildings over their digital counterparts. We may see push-back on some technology. We’re already seeing it when it comes to AI image generation. As technology propels forward, we might see an opposing Nostalgia emerge. As with so many applications for AI, the man/machine hybrid will succeed best. The challenge and opportunity are to create and adopt new workflows that integrate AI into a process where the designer does not surrender creative control or get lost down a digital rabbit-hole.”

In his leadership role at DSA, Gareth is focussed on fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, nurturing talent, and delivering exceptional value to clients. His commitment to DSA’s long-term development and strategic growth is evident as he continues to build on the firm’s reputation for excellence and innovation.

AKDESIGNO

LUXURY VILLA - AL MAMZAR, DUBAI: This villa offers a seamless integration of open and closed spaces harmoniously blended through unique architectural elements. The open-plan interior flows effortlessly with floor-to-ceiling windows, collapsable glass partitions, and double height spaces, creating a fluid spatial transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Abdulla Kunhi, the visionary behind AKDESIGNO, defied expectations by choosing a path in architecture and design instead of following his family’s business. Over the past decade, he has transformed his startup into one of the most sought-after firms in the industry.

AKDESIGNO, named after the Spanish word for design, has become a symbol of excellence, offering architectural planning, design, rendering, and development solutions. The firm’s reach spans 14 countries, with projects that showcase its versatility and global influence.

AK's passion for architecture began early, fuelled by childhood travels to his native Kasargod in Kerala and other destinations. His interest in distinctive building designs and intricate details grew stronger when he took part in constructing a family home at the age of 13.

Growing up in Dubai, AK witnessed the city's remarkable transformation from a landscape with few notable structures, like the Trade Center, into a global architectural hub. This evolution profoundly influenced his perspective. After schooling at Dubai Modern Academy, AK followed his passion for architecture—despite his family's hopes for a medical career—and pursued a degree at the American University in Sharjah. His determination proved rewarding as he graduated and embarked on a successful professional journey.

AKDESIGNO faced early challenges, but perseverance, attention to detail, and focussing on 3D visualisation led to success. A breakthrough restaurant project expanded its reach beyond family and friends to a wider audience.

As Chairman of the Interior Design and Decorations Business Group by Dubai Chambers, they address industry challenges, promote skill development, and foster networking and growth within the design community. His efforts focus on resolving sector issues and supporting designers' professional development.

AK believes good design comes from a free, open mind, blending creativity with balance and practicality. At AKDESIGNO, his team uses advanced technology, high-end rendering tools, and meticulous care to craft functional, innovative, and visually appealing spaces across hospitality, commercial, healthcare, and residential sectors. Looking ahead, AKDESIGNO plans international expansion with new offices in the UK and India. Despite market challenges, client loyalty remains strong due to their commitment to excellence. For AK, passion and resilience are the true keys to success—a message he shares with aspiring entrepreneurs.

"Design is a personality that evolves, improves, and leaves an impression. One can never believe they've learned it all; every day, with every meeting, something new is learned and improvised,” shares AK. AK plans to expand the firm’s portfolio by advancing sustainable design and embracing cutting-edge technologies. The focus is on strengthening its presence in the UAE, India, and Saudi Arabia, while exploring global markets. AK also prioritises fostering young talent through mentorship and robust in-house training to maintain design excellence.

Dubai A BEACON OF ARCHITECTURAL BRILLIANCE

ISHITA LAKHANI, CO-FOUNDER OF ORIS ARCHITECTS, SHARES HER THOUGHTS ON THE MARVELS OF DUBAI AND HOW IT STANDS AS A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION AND A GUIDING LIGHT FOR MANY.

cus on sustainability, smart cities, and green initiatives underscores its commitment to building a future-ready urban landscape.

Dubai’s Skyward Ambitions

As an architect in Mumbai, I have had the privilege of designing luxury residences that merge contemporary aesthetics with functionality. Yet, when I look beyond my city’s shores, my admiration turns to Dubai—a city

In contrast to Mumbai’s organic growth, Dubai’s bold approach has created an architectural legacy that challenges conventional thinking. Dubai’s philosophy of “Build it, and they will come” has led to remarkable structures that push boundaries and inspire architects worldwide. As I navigate Mumbai’s evolving cityscape, I continue to draw lessons from Dubai’s vision, innovation, and fearless approach to design.

Dubai's transformation is nothing short of extraordinary, from iconic landmarks like the Burj Khalifa to visionary projects such as the Palm Jumeirah. The city seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with rich cultural influences, shaping a unique and dynamic identity. As Dubai continues to evolve, its fo-

that has redefined architectural possibilities. With a vision to become a global cultural, tourism, and business hub, Dubai has become a playground for innovation in urban design.

From a modest trading port to a metropolis of iconic skyscrapers, Dubai’s skyline embodies ambition and progress. Its transformation—seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology with traditional influences—offers a masterclass in modern urban planning.

Architectural Feats That Defy Gravity

One of the earliest landmarks that signified Dubai’s aspirations was the Burj Al Arab. Completed in 1999, this sail-shaped luxury hotel became an instant icon, symbolizing the city’s ambition and flair for innovation. Built on an artificial island, the Burj Al Arab set the stage for Dubai’s architectural journey, showcasing how engineering ingenuity could overcome natural limitations.

A great example of design excellence, Dubai Opera redefines cultural spaces with its dhow sail-inspired form.
Dubai Opera seamlessly blends heritage with modern cultural expression.
"Dubai’s evolution embraces sustainability and smart city initiatives, tackling environmental challenges through green solutions."

inspired on my recent visit was the One Za’abeel Building. This dual-tower masterpiece, connected by The Link—the longest occupied building cantilever in the world—epitomises engineering and precision. The Link challenges conventional notions of balance and structure, making it an inspiring case study in modern design. Moreover, One Za’abeel’s integration of green initiatives and sustainable practices aligns with the ethos of future-ready urban architecture. Dubai continuously invites exploration, always asking, “What’s next?”

The most iconic example of Dubai’s architectural prowess is the Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world. But its significance goes beyond height. It represents an audacious commitment to defying gravity, demonstrating not just technical skill but also a passion for aesthetics that seamlessly merges art and engineering.

Another marvel is the Palm Jumeirah, an artificial archipelago that redefines luxury living. The sheer audacity of creating palm-shaped islands in the sea is a testament to Dubai’s innovative spirit. Similarly, yet differently, the Museum of the Future, with its toroidal shape and Arabic calligraphy etched on its stainless-steel façade, pushes the boundaries of both design and engineering. However, the one structure that left me truly

Technology at the Core Dubai turns challenges into opportunities through cutting-edge technology. Constructing skyscrapers in the desert presents unique obstacles, from sourcing materials to handling extreme temperatures, yet the city has harnessed advanced innovations to overcome these hurdles. By embracing 3D-printed buildings and intelligent urban design, Dubai remains at the forefront of progress.

Initiatives like Dubai Silicon Oasis and Smart Dubai integrate AI, blockchain, and IoT to build seamlessly connected cities. With autonomous transportation and smart grids, Dubai is paving the way for a sustainable, future-ready urban environment.

Tradition Meets

Innovation

Dubai’s architecture blends futuristic designs

with deep Arabic influences. As one drives through the city, elements of traditional Islamic architecture—geometric patterns, arches, and mashrabiya screens—are evident. The Al Fahidi Historical District, with its wind towers and narrow lanes, preserves Dubai’s architectural heritage.

Expo 2020 showcased this fusion, with Al Wasl Plaza’s dome, inspired by Arab storytelling, becoming a centerpiece of the event. The Dubai Opera, resembling a dhow sail, reimagines cultural spaces. Each structure narrates Dubai’s journey—honouring its past while embracing innovation.

This flawless fusion of tradition and innovation positions Dubai as a glob al beacon of architectural evolution, where the past and future intertwine seamlessly.

Luxury Redefined Dubai’s opulence shapes global luxury trends, redefining extravagance as immersive experiences. From underwater suites at Atlantis to the world’s highest observation deck, it leaves a lasting impression.

The Palm Jumeirah stands as a testament to innovation, seamlessly merging luxury with landscape. In Mumbai, replicating such grandeur presents challenges—lim ited space, unpredicta ble weather, and urban congestion. Yet, these very constraints deepen my admiration for Dubai’s bold vision, inspiring me

An award-winning interior design and branding studio specializing in creating immersive spaces that tell a story. Based in the Middle East, our expertise lies in the F&B, hospitality, and commercial sectors, where we develop design concepts that go beyond form —prioritizing guest experiences and emotional connections.

Modern Vision Timeless Craft,

ANNA LENTI

CEO

OF THE RENOWNED ITALIAN FURNITURE BRAND PAOLA LENTI, CONTINUES TO SET THE STANDARD FOR INNOVATIVE DESIGN, SEAMLESSLY BLENDING HERITAGE CRAFTSMANSHIP WITH MODERN SUSTAINABILITY, ENSURING EVERY PIECE STANDS THE TEST OF TIME.

In what ways has your background in engineering shaped your leadership style and approach at Paola Lenti? My engineering background has given me a structured, analytical approach to problem-solving, which has been crucial in shaping the company’s growth. While my sister Paola is the creative visionary behind our designs, I focussed on building an efficient organisational structure that could support her artistic vision. When I joined, the company was still a small, family-run business with just a handful of employees. Over the years, we have grown into a globally recognised brand with 130 professionals and a strong international presence. My role has been to ensure that our expansion is sustainable while maintaining the brand’s integrity, allowing Paola’s creativity to flourish without operational constraints.

When you joined the company in 2000, what vision did you have for its growth, and how has that developed over time? From the beginning, we knew that international expansion would be key to our success. The company was founded in 1994, in Meda, the heart of Italy’s

Under Anna Lenti's leadership, Paola Lenti has expanded globally, securing a presence in top showrooms across Italy and beyond.
"For us, sustainability is not just about materials—it’s a holistic approach that includes responsible production, durability, and respect for both people and the environment."

contemporary furniture industry, but we quickly realised that foreign markets were more receptive to new brands with fresh design perspectives. We focused on positioning ourselves in high-end markets worldwide by offering unique, research-driven products. Today, 80% of our turnover comes from international sales, and our collections are distributed in 60 countries through 300 prestigious showrooms and flagship stores, with our latest one being our showroom in Dubai in partnership with Purity. Our commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability has allowed us to build a strong global reputation.

What key elements do you believe distinguish Paola Lenti from other high-end furniture brands worldwide?

We thrive on curiosity, innovation, and craftsman-

ship, constantly pushing boundaries. Our exclusive Signature Materials ensure unmatched quality and originality in every collection.

Additionally, our approach to color is unparalleled: we offer an extensive palette of up to 200-300 shades per fabric, giving designers an unmatched level of customisation. Beyond aesthetics, we seamlessly combine modern technology with ancient craftsmanship, creating pieces that are both innovative and timeless.

How has sustainability influenced your design philosophy and manufacturing processes at Paola Lenti?

Sustainability has been at the core of our philosophy since the very beginning, because we’ve always believed it was the right thing to do. Long before sustainability became a mainstream concern, we made conscious decisions to use eco-friendly materials, such as polypropylene, which is fully recyclable. Unlike many competitors, we refuse to use chemical treatments like Teflon, which can be harmful to the environment. Our production facilities in Meda are designed for minimal energy consumption, and we emphasise ethical working conditions as part of our sustainability commitment. For us, sustainability is not just about materials—it’s a holistic approach that includes responsible production, durability, and respect for both people and the environment.

What have been the most significant challenges and

opportunities in expanding into the yachting and marine sectors?

The yachting and marine sector presents unique challenges due to the harsh environmental conditionssalt water, humidity, and UV exposure require materials of the highest durability. The elements can be very difficult to plan for, and it takes specialist knowledge to choose materials and ensure maintenance. When we first entered the market, yacht design was more conservative, with limited attention to contemporary aesthetics and design. Over the years, we have established strong relationships with architects and shipyards, developing custom solutions that merge durability with refined design. Today, we have a dedicated division for yacht interiors, providing both loose furniture and custom-built solutions that align with our brand’s high standards.

Of all the prestigious awards Paola Lenti has received, which recognition has meant the most to you, and why?

We have been honored with many prestigious awards, including the Red Dot Award, German Design Award, and Good Design Award for several of our collections. However, one of the most special recognitions was our very first special mention of Island, one of our early outdoor designs. At that time, we were still a small company, and this recognition affirmed that our vision had value. While we have since won more high-profile awards, that first acknowledgment remains a milestone in our journey.

With a strong international presence, how do you maintain the brand’s Italian identity while staying globally relevant?

Our Italian heritage is central to our identity, with a 100% Italian supply chain. Yet, we adapt to global markets by tailoring showrooms to local design sensibilities. Each space, from Purity to Tokyo or Vienna, reflects its region while staying true to our brand. Showroom aesthetics evolve based on relevance to space, culture, and even climate. This approach preserves our authenticity while keeping Paola Lenti globally relevant.

What are your main priorities for the future of Paola Lenti in terms of innovation and market expansion?

One of our key priorities is expanding our presence through mono-brand showrooms, usually in partnership with a local partner such as Purity here in Dubai. These allow us to fully express our brand’s design philosophy. We are also focusing on strengthening our indoor collections, returning to our roots while continuing to innovate in outdoor furniture. Additionally, we are deepening our commitment to research and sustainability, expanding our team, and exploring new materials and production techniques that align with our environmental values. With a solid global presence, we remain open to new market opportunities, but our focus is on maintaining the quality and uniqueness that have defined us for the past 30 years.

BAR DES PRÉS Debuts in Dubai

French chef Cyril Lignac brings his signature fusion of French elegance and Japanese flavours to Dubai, offering a stunning dining experience on the 51st floor of the ICD building.

What inspired you to bring Bar des Prés to Dubai, and how does it differ from your locations in Paris and London?

Dubai’s vibrant culinary scene and unmatched energy made it the perfect home for Bar des Prés. Perched on the 51st floor of the iconic ICD building, the restaurant offers breathtaking views and an unforgettable dining experience.

Bar des Prés Dubai embodies the essence of our Paris and London locations, offering the same signature cuisine and ambiance, with a few distinctive touches. In particular, we have placed a strong emphasis on our dessert offerings, catering to the local preference for indulgent sweets. Guests can enjoy creations such as a grand pavlova, a delicate matcha tea cake, and a rich, molten chocolate biscuit.

What excites you most about blending French and East Asian cuisine?

Bar des Prés blends French expertise with Japanese exoticism, honoring traditional techniques while crafting contemporary dishes. Every detail matters, especially the precise seasoning on the crudos. Combined with breathtaking views and a vibrant atmosphere, this fusion creates a truly unique dining destination in Dubai.

You’ve worked with renowned Michelin-star chefs. How have those experiences shaped your culinary philosophy?

Training under Nicole Fagegaltier, a Michelin-starred chef in the South of France, instilled discipline, precision, and, most importantly, a deep respect for quality ingredients. I continued honing my skills with other Michelin-starred chefs before opening my own restaurant, where I was honored to earn a Michelin star. Today, I have shifted my focus to new projects, allowing me to refine my culinary identity—one that moves beyond technical showmanship to prioritise the expectations and enjoyment of my guests. Above all, my goal is to bring people joy through refined, indulgent, and sincere cuisine.

Bar des Prés Dubai soars above the city, offering a fusion of French elegance and East Asian flavours.
A culinary visionary, Cyril Lignac masterfully blends French tradition with modern creativity.

Design plays a crucial role in the dining experience. Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind the interior of Bar des Prés Dubai?

Our four restaurants in Paris, London, and Dubai share the same spirit, but each Bar des Prés has its unique personality. In Dubai, you’ll find key design elements such as Italian marble tables, peacock fabric, blue and copper tones, as well as bamboo and rattan, all reflecting Asian influences.

At the heart of the space is the sushi counter, the centerpiece of the venue, adorned with a striking installation of raw silk; a tribute to Japan’s rich silk production heritage.

The result is an atmosphere that beautifully blends the essence of Asia with the charm of the West.

Your background in pastry is remarkable. What desserts on the Dubai menu are you particularly excited about?

I have a deep appreciation for pastry. I believe it’s essential to end a meal on an exceptionally sweet note, especially since we have true French expertise in this area.

The mille-feuille is one of the restaurant’s signature desserts, but my personal favorite is the chocolate profiteroles. They embody the essence of a classic French dessert, with crisp yet soft choux pastry filled with smooth vanilla ice cream, topped with a rich, indulgent chocolate sauce, served warm at the table.

How do you balance creativity and business while expanding your brand internationally?

I’m fortunate to be surrounded by great people. In each of my establishments, I rely on a trusted team that allows me to focus on innovation while ensuring smooth operations. While I don’t have any confirmed openings at the moment, I remain open to new opportunities for Bar des Prés internationally. What I would especially love is to open a pastry shop in Dubai.

Bar des Prés Dubai captivates with chic interiors, where French elegance meets East Asian allure.
Designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, the space harmonises Parisian charm with Japanese aesthetics.
