More and more services have to tackle the finite radio spectrum. For years, it only had to respond to the needs of radio broadcasting, but now, the exponential increase in the demand from mobile phone services has led to the need to reassign frequencies and articulate a new way of coexisting between television and mobile phone services. These new services are contemplated within what is known as 4G (4th Generation) or LTE (Long Term Evolution), which will be broadcast on frequencies that had been used by TV services until now. The objective for Ikusi in this new scenario is to guarantee that the TV signal is received without any interference from the LTE signals. For this purpose, it has developed and patented solutions that avoid any interference from LTE signals on the TV channels.
LTE Flashd Antenna The main characteristic of the LTE Flashd antenna is that, whilst maintaining the gains of the well-known Flashd antenna, it strongly repels the LTE without the need to incorporate filters in some cases. For this purpose, the LTE Flashd antenna incorporates guiding elements, strategically placed and dimensioned, which give it a frequency response with a strong selective rejection of the 4G frequen-
cies, whilst respecting the gain on the channels. Similarly, the Flashd antenna facilitates the orientation, for pointing as well as polarity. Whilst other antennas have 2 positions to define the polarity, 0ยบ and 90ยบ, the LTE Flashd antennas can continually adjust to any angle, in such a way that a simple screw facilitates the manoeuvre without the need to remove any
elements. It is a very useful system when you need to change polarity or when the mast is not fully vertical. The LTE Flashd antenna is presented in two versions: One with the cut-off frequency at channel 60 and the other with the cut-off frequency at 58. In both cases, the Ikusi antenna obtains an excellent level of LTE signal blocking.

Filter in FLTE headend* Ikusi has developed a specific filter to avoid interferences from the LTE signals. The filter is comparable with the top-range filters on the market in everything expect in its price, capable of fully protecting 99% of the TV installations from damaging LTE down-links.

necessary to combine the LTE Flashd Antenna and the FLTE filter. All of this is possible due to the fact that the FLTE is a high-rejection helicoid filter, designed with a new concept, which guarantees minimum losses on the highest TV channel and the rejection of more than 45 dBs of the LTE frequencies.
In cases in which the TV installation is very close to the LTE base stations and channel 60 is available, it may be
Depending on the scenario,
the FLTE can be configured as pass filter to the C59 or pass filter to the 60. A simple bridge incorporated in the device can easily make it. The filter is housed in a weatherproof box and is equipped with connectorised coaxial cable coupling on both ends to make the installer’s work easier and enable the connection to the existing equipment with the subsequent time-saving.

Headend equipment protection
NBS broadband amplifiers When the Ikusi’s range of broadband amplifiers was launched in the first quarter of 2011 it became the first on the market to be ready for the Digital Dividend.
ONE programmable headends The ONE series is ready to cover the needs derived from the LTE emissions. This way, as regards the UHF band, the headend’s default operation is between channels 21 and 69, but in the Menu you can limit the channels entered to 60, ensuring that the headend only operates between channels 21 and 60. However, measures must be taken according to the channels present in the reception.
SZB Single Channel Headend Facing the challenge of the digital dividend, manufacturing processes have been optimized , equipping them to gain rejections on the LTE frequencies, maintaining the reliability over many years.
