“There will never be enough thanks to be said to our sponsors and helpers before and on Opening Night - that would be totally OUTTA ORDER. Lucky Horseshoe, Laura Galt and her amazing staff (fabulous food - the meat balls? wish I had some right now!... and so glad it was you who took over the bar side! You were all amazing. I am Pure Foods - Yasmeen & Mark - everyone's talking about your great cassava bites (sugar & gluten free!) - see fb site for contact. John Hazzard at Water's Edge Bougainvillea Beach Resort, Maxwell Coast Road (those samosas & spring rolls hmmm hmm good). Kenrick Boucher & Shalana Wines - you are marvelous. I take my hat off to you Sir. Gooseberry, Beet, Soursop, Guava, Dunk, Aloe, Sorrel et al - delicious and for those interested these wines are available at Super Centre, Warrens, and make fantastic dessert wines well chilled. Mr. B's contact is 426 9516. Island Blends & Alicia (thanks Bobbi McKay) - rich juices that when mixed with Mount Gay Rum (and other secret tings!) made a punch with a punch. The punch, of course, was Mount Gay Rum - thanks to Raphael Grisoni. The flowers? Trevor Hunte and C.O. Williams - they were so Caribbean, so Barbados, so us! Sian Pampellonne, sianindesign, me beautiful creative daughter designed the invitation/logo - it caught everyone's eye! Curtis Greenidge and ACE Cards printed and distributed postcards all over the island - ACE Cards Rock!! Martina Pile of Island Art Gallery did a superb job of hanging and Grantley her trusted helper was so sweet to one and all...thanks for all the help! Continued on next page…………
Jennifer Allen was our photographer on the red carpet and off, much appreciated for she's so good at it - book her for your events, also on fb...and then the crew of videographers, of course, part of an ongoing work for Martina Pile...believe there will be DVDs available of the opening night of OUTTA ORDER soon. Contact the Gallery at 268 6850. Facebook has certainly made communicating easy so we must give thanks. Ian Douglas Bourne (http://bajanreporter.com/caribbean-fantasy-set-to-canvas-island-art-gallery-showcasesguyanese-trinidadian-palettes-in-a-barbadian-tableau/) and Barbados Free Press. Alex Jordan and SLAM fm. Peter Boyce, Archileus Weekes, Michael Goodman CBC's QFM 104.7 - so much appreciation for the air time. Carolle Bourne and The Nation's She magazine for such a great full-colour promotion. Colleen Starck for driving around the island with me sticking invitations all over de place (yes! that was my fault!).Jurgen Starck, some photography. Philip Deckle packing car with millions of bottles of punch! And anyone else I have forgotten...tried me bess! Whilst Patrick and I did all the art, you who sponsored or helped ALL made the job of putting it ALL together, just so much more perfect and enjoyable. We salute you as we have saluted and will continue to salute the unbiased work that Corrie Scott does for the creative arts of this island and the Caribbean. We particularly also thank all those who came to the opening night - a weekday is not always convenient but you came out in your numbers. The exhibition runs until April 27th - the gallery is open from 10:30 a.m. except on Sundays...right on the main street of Speightstown, opposite the wonderful open window to the sea where arty windmills dance in the wind. So come up (down for Bajans) to Speightstown's Island Art Gallery - take a look at what Patrick and I have produced...and then do yourselves a favour - visit and shop in this beautiful old town - may it remain the way it is without too much more modernization. Visit the new antique shop, had a peak and its just lovely, not far from Fisherman's Pub, its a short stop from a good variety of restaurants - most recommended is Cassareep just before one reaches the gallery from the south. Speightstown forever!!! Rosemary Parkinson
