A lot has been mentioned over the years in regard to how to utilize willpower in the personal development/success field. Here is a simple breakdown of the basic factors of effective and focused personal will: 5 Factors to an Effective Will
·0 Personal Alignment- This is the first and most foundational factor to start with. Personal alignment involves all parts of our personhood being in harmony and agreement. One of the first and most common personal violations is in regard to our conscience. This is how the road to addiction “forges itself.” This is also when we lose personal willpower or control over our will.
·1 Visualization- All successful people have a very clear picture in their head and/or on
paper of what they want to achieve. They also rehearse this regularly in their own mind.
·2 A Mindset of Intentionality- Most of us have probably seen the difference between
actions done with clear intention and actions done half-heartedly. Moving forward with clear intention starts in our minds long before actions are completed.
·3 Course of action, follow-through, assess accomplishments, improve or “the growth process.” I've heard this called by some speakers as “the growth process" and also broken down into plan, do, check, adjust (PDCA).
·4 Persevere-Many goals are not reached right away and require patience and invested
time. This varies per individual, goal, and other factors.
A Personal Application A great personal example of taking responsibility over my own life was when I started two of my own personal businesses; affiliate marketing with SFM and becoming an independent consultant for Arbonne. These businesses allow me to create the life of my dreams while building these businesses.
