This short article , “What 4 Components Contribute to Happiness?" addresses a very common question all of us ask at times in our lives in regard to the general subject of happiness. Reframing

Reframing is a subject I've heard talked about frequently in regard to success, happiness, and health. The basic synopsis of this involves looking at painful experiences from a different point of view in order to focus on more positive aspects and/or outcomes of this situation. Healthy and Positive Pleasure Healthy and positive pleasure is a subject in itself, but for this brief article, here's some basics:

·0 Healthy pleasure provides opportunities for various kinds of growth, both personal and relational. Some examples of this could be new fun experiences and deeper trust in a relationships.

·1 Positive pleasure becomes an outlet or even release of stress without a downside or a minimal downside. For example, we all know that abuse of our bodies through the overuse of drugs is not a healthy outlet. But we also know the right amount of exercise is a stress release which some find pleasure in the effects after the exercise. The include a healthier body, clearer mind, feeling more relaxed, etc.

·2 Healthy pleasure does not hurt others or cross their boundaries in order to get what we want. This is where subjects like abuse, using others for selfish gain, and narcissism begin.


A Variety of Activities Engagement in activities that range from the mundane to passion-based and purposeful activities eventually can lead to fulfillment. So we all need to balance our lives. Our lives consist of responsibilities and desires for all levels of activity. For example, leaving house maintenance and cleaning eventually leads to a very unhappy situation in various ways. However, doing only mundane activities to the neglect of passion focused activities does not lead someone into a fulfilled life. Discovering Meaning and Experiencing Fulfillment As we experience a variety of activities we can hone in on what activities are meaningful and bring fulfillment to us. From that point of discovery, our lives can take on some new directions while we continue to balance the various levels of activities.
