cold, rain, conditions.
Plan ahead! We plan at the wellsite at the start of each shift with the review of the “Job Hazard Analysis”. We should also plan ahead before we travel to our job sites. One way to do that is by checking your local weather conditions for any alerts that have been issued. This will allow extra time during your commute if needed. Weather alerts are usually issued with the following levels of severity: Warning – issued when hazardous weather is occurring or likely. Conditions pose a threat to life or property. Those in the path of the storm need to take protective action. Watch – issued when the risk of a hazardous weather event has increased significantly but its location or timing is still uncertain. Have a safety plan of action in case the storm threatens in your area. Advisory – issued when hazardous weather is occurring or likely but less serious than a Warning. Continue to monitor regular weather reports and conditions. Outlook – issued when hazardous weather is possible in the next week. Outlooks are intended to raise awareness. Remember, when you are planning your travel and checking the weather, you can pull the “Stop Work Authority Card” on yourself as you would at the job site if unsafe travel conditions exist. Thanks to everyone for all you do to perform at a high level every day and taking on SAFETY as a personal responsibility to help yourself, your co-workers and your family stay safe.

These three witnessed a tragic roadway accident and heroically responded at the scene. They were first on the scene as a car ran a stop sign and was hit by a semi. They assisted the truck driver out of the truck and moved him to safety, then went to assess the driver. They cut the seatbelt of the driver to relieve pressure and took his pulse. Police were then on the scene, and these three stayed at the site to give account of what they had witnessed. What an incredible demonstration of bravely helping our community. The county has now decided to install a 4-way stop at that intersection.

- TWO YEARS It’s not every day that a customer takes time to write an extensive recognition of nine people, highlighting the strengths that each person individually brings to the table. Unfortunately, there isn’t room here to share it all. Each person in this recognition has gone above and beyond in their work to display professionalism, integrity, safety and excellence in representing Covenant to their customers. “I wanted to thank you for ensuring these folks have operations taken care of…but most importantly I have a huge appreciation for their hard work. I didn’t want it to go unnoticed and I thank you guys for continuing to communicate on our logistics and operations. This is a very fast growing area and we are leaning more and more on your guys. SHAUN FALLON Shaun is a Production Manager in our Northern Division. Before joining Covenant five years ago, Shaun had an extensive career in landscaping. He was looking for a change in careers and a friend suggested he consider jumping in to the oil field. “I never thought I would get into the oil and gas industry, but the people I get to work with are great. I’m so happy I chose this path and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Covenant, the team and myself.” When he’s not in the field, you’ll likely find Shaun at the lake or camping, spending time with his wife of 11 years, his son and two dogs. This platform is the brainchild and result of many months of work by VP Corporate Development and Administration Anthony Bilotto and Analytics and Systems Manager, Andrew Sikes. NEXUS Data Consolidation is able to compile flowback reports across all time, with multiple vendors and draw it all into one easy to consume format. NEXUS Consumption has the ability to access all current flowback reports regardless of vendor and allow operators to view it all via web portal. NEXUS Data Acquisition transmits real time flowback data directly to the NEXUS platform using a system of sensors and transmitters at the well site. We are excited to offer NEXUS to our customer as a way to improve efficiency, improve health and safety and improve forecasting.

SAM WEEMS | NORTHERN LOUISIANA Sam is our 7” thru 4” valve guru. Sam is responsible for breaking down all of our large hydraulic and manual valves when they come in from a job. He and his crew then wash all parts, inspect them, replace worn parts and order new ones. His attention to detail is imperative as these valves are the only means of well control if something were to go wrong during a job. With that said, Sam is the epitome of a Brother’s Keeper because the work he performs keeps our crews safe and our customers happy. Thank you for your hard work and dedication AND FOR keeping us “Covenant Strong!”
• OUR NEWEST BK’s •
Keep those recognitions rolling in! When we recognize others for being safe on the job, it encourages the whole team to keep pushing to be better. It only takes a minute to complete the online form and nominate a fellow brother in the field. Thank you for taking action and working to strengthen the Covenant family.

It’s important to never underestimate the risks involved with machines or equipment capable of omitting hazardous energy. According to OSHA, compliance with the lockout/tagout standard prevents an estimated 120 fatalities and 50,000 injuries each year. Be on the lookout for electrical safety/LOTO email blasts and training.
