Dear Covenant Family, A few years ago, my wife gave me a daily book on Leadership. Many topics have stood out and spoken directly to my heart and head, but one that has had a significant impact says, “As Responsibilities Increase, Rights Decrease.” This profound statement reminds me that we are all leaders in some way; be that of a crew, location, facility, or your family. As leaders we all have responsibilities that infringe upon our lives. These requirements often conflict with what we want to do. Our “responsibilities” trump our “rights”. In our line of work, there is a lot of sacrifice required of all of us, even those waiting for us at home. Through our new Brother’s Keeper Initiative, we have been reminded of our responsibilities to ourselves, our customers, each other and our loved ones. For example, we may want to drive home at the end of a long hitch, but instead rest and sleep may be what is needed to help us arrive safely. We are all Standing Together in Commitment to One Another! In my home state of Colorado, where many of you (or your colleagues) work, political forces are attempting
to infringe upon the rights of our industry. Proposition 112 seeks to increase setbacks for Oil and Gas leases to a distance of 2500’. This would all but eliminate future and ongoing maintenance of our industry within the state. I personally feel a responsibility to educate my friends, family, neighbors, and all Covenant employees on the devastating effects of this legislation. This political attack is an uninvited thief of time for all in our industry. It’s defeat requires diligence by all Covenant Leadership to defend all members of the Covenant Family. As we grow, our responsibilities increase and challenge our rights. As we seek a balance between the two, let’s encourage and be accountable to one another. In doing so, our collective tomorrow will be better than today. And don’t forget, GET OUT AND VOTE!

We value giving back to the community and encourage service opportunities. Why? Many reasons. It’s the right thing to do. Our work significantly impacts the places we live, so it makes sense we keep in touch with local communities. And, serving others does something inside us, growing us personally as leaders and brothers. Ian Moon and Tauqeer Khan of Northern Division are great examples of Covenant’s Community value. Recently, they spent the day volunteering at Youth Outdoors Day, an event put on by the non profit Colorado Youth Outdoors. They cut pipe, built a roof and road, and much more.
Way to represent the Covenant family!
Calling all those who call Colorado their home to go out and vote on November 6. On the ballot is Proposition 112 which would increase the required setback for new oil and gas development from its current 500-foot limit from designated structures and vulnerable areas to 2,500 feet from any structure or water source, including dry stream beds. If passed, Proposition 112 will ban new oil and gas development on more than 85% of lands owned by private individuals and the State of Colorado. This action would have an estimated $217 billion impact to Colorado’s economy over the next 15 years, with over $1 billion in tax revenue eliminated and 147,000 jobs lost. What can you do if you’re a Colorado resident? Share and like the posts on our “Covenant Testing Technologies Northern Division” facebook page
Register to vote if you aren’t already at: www.govotecolorado.org

Inventory/Procurement, Southern Division - west TEXAS Chris has overseen our hotshot drivers for the past year and has made it his personal goal to keep tired drivers off the road. He makes sure to select drivers based on how much rest they have had, and he’s not afraid to tell someone “no” if he feels they are not physically up to it. He will meet his drivers half way to reduce their time on the road if they need to get parts, and he has the drivers send a text when they arrive at a location and when they make it back home. No matter the time of day, Chris keeps up with those he is responsible for to ensure they are safe. Thank you for being a true Brother’s Keeper and making sure our people make it home to their families at the end of the day.
