2022 is an exciting milestone for us because we’re 100 years young this year.

Peter Mosedale and fellow co-owner Lachlan Yeates began their real estate careers together at an agency in Freshwater. Joining forces with commercial property expert, Vincent West, they started their own agencies in Dee Why and Collaroy. In 2019 they merged the agencies, including one with direct lineage to the Weight family, and Upstate was born.

We’ve been on a long and colourful journey to become the Upstate that we are today. Our story began when one of our parent companies, ‘Weight and Co’, was established in 1922.

Looking back at newspaper articles from the 1950’s, when typical sales agents were selling an average of 50 properties a year, our very own Mr. Woodrow Weight was selling around 130 properties in Manly-Warringah! Weight and Co were the talk of the town, setting records in the 1940s and contributing to the development of the local community.

After 100 years, some things change and others stay the same – but all for the better. From traditional selling techniques back then to the latest tech today, we’ve always maintained the same selling integrity and supported our local communities.

We now have over 118,000 prospective buyers and tenants on our database, a 35% market share in the commercial real estate sector, and achieve on average 25% above the sale guide price. With a single, central offi ce, our 80+ dedicated staff go the extra mile every single day to deliver the Upstate promise we’re known for.

While we’ve grown into a big agency over the century, our track record and commitment to bespoke service has allowed us to maintain our origins as a boutique agency. Continually setting new records, our determination is what drives this growth and success for our community.

But numbers aside, we measure our own success by the success of the people we work with.
