We’re one hospo, one corporate, one tradie – three mates…

We are three not-so young Sydney born blokes – Sam, Adam and Bernard or ‘Marshy’, ‘Bails’ and ‘Skip’.

Together we had a crack at turning the historic old Polar Bar site in Freshwater into a local hub – a place where you and yours can get an excellent coffee, quality brekkie or brunch and staples for the family – and give back to the local community at the same time. So… that’s all travelling smoothly (touch wood), and we’re just stoked at the response from the Freshie locals.

But – do we stop there? Yeah nah... Why have just one great local café spot when you could have two – right? So… taking a leaf out of the Aussie blueprint to ‘have a punt’ or ‘ave a go ya mug’ – here we are again. This time in beautiful beachside Mona Vale.

While our two places are cut from the same cloth – read best quality coffee, food, service and awesome space - we’re not after a cookie cutter job. The locations are different, the size is different, the atmosphere will be a little different – but expect the same quality space and product.

We want to be that place in Mona where you come and hang out with your family, your friends, your best mate or even your long-lost cousin… Come sit, have a coffee, a delicious sambo, the best scrambled eggs in the world (seriously but) – and chew the fat.

We’ll also have a small but great range of take-away items from bread, milk and loo paper to hand-crafted gifts from locals and brands – as well as a selection of classic vinyls.

We love local and will use locally sourced, sustainable produce wherever we can. We also support local artisans, artists and craftspeople.

We’ve also committed to donating 5 cents of every coffee sold to the Mona Vale Boardriders Club as our way of directly giving back to the community.

Why Kokomo? Because we’d love our place to really capture that unique, harmonious, laid-back, sun-fi lled, saltyaired feeling you get when you listen to that old 80s song. A mythical place you get to fast and then take it slow. That’s where we want to go – way down in Kokomo.
