Project Management Training Scheme

C­PAL (Consortium for Participatory Arts Learning) are offering a significant CPD opportunity for North West based practitioners, who have been working in a participatory arts setting for at least 3 years (or less in exceptional circumstances). The training will provide participants with a major career development opportunity as well as enhance the project management and delivery mechanisms throughout the sector. There are two opportunities to take the course between June and December 2011 (1 st Course) and then again between January and June 2012 (2nd Course), each lasting 9 sessions fortnightly, at different Participatory Arts venues across the North West, The content of the course covers: • What is project management? • Defining, planning and working with PM tools • Change, communication and closure • Time management and people management • Managing resources and risks • Stakeholders and evaluation The training also includes an opportunity to share practise through action learning sets, as well as optional mentoring provision from C­PAL member organisations. The course is subsidised by Arts Council England and will cost £130 for all training and resources. You will also have to cover your travel costs. It is open to committed and experienced practitioners who have been in a participatory arts setting for at least three years (with few exceptions). The course enables practical application of the training directly to current working practise. It is open to those who have arts based practise or are working in an administrative or operational capacity.
