Consortium for Participatory Arts Learning

A learning network for participatory arts in the north west. C-PAL, the Consortium for Participatory Arts Learning was established in 2005. It is a group of senior managers representing participatory arts organisations across the North West of England. C-PAL's main remit is skills development for people who are currently working in or want to work in the participatory arts sector. It is also a network to share learning, unearth key issues and explore the development of the sector. The three key dimensions to C-PAL's work; advocacy, networking and professional development have led to: * The design and delivery of a Project Management training course * A mentoring scheme for trainees taking part in the Project Management training course * Working towards an agreed set of core competencies for professionals in the participatory arts sector * Sharing knowledge and expertise across participatory arts organisations in the north west * Developing advocacy mechanisms
