COVID’S BITTER AFTERTASTE Gill Sherry
I suppose it had to happen sooner or later. I was actually quite proud of the fact that I’d managed to avoid the dreaded Covid. Proud to the point of smug, if I’m honest. Despite the easing and subsequent lifting of restrictions, I still wore a face mask on public transport, still sanitized my hands at every opportunity, still used contactless payments instead of cash. But despite these defences, the pesky virus still managed to infiltrate my previously untainted home. 8
JULY 2022
The precautions I took to stave off the contagious disease were, it seems, in vain. I could take every precaution possible when away from home but if the virus was already making itself comfortable on my sofa, there was only going to be one winner. Little did I know as I fastidiously washed my hands, it was skulking around in the shower tray, lurking in the laundry basket, and plotting its attack as it hid under the shiny new leaves of my favourite potted plant. I’m pretty certain it had hitched a ride with my husband who, having recently paid his respects to a dearly departed friend, returned home with more than just a heartrending Order of Service. Granted, it could easily have been the train carriage, the hotel room or any number of other sources, but the countless handshakes of condolence and sympathetic hugs that took place at the funeral seemed the most likely explanation for the unwelcome breach.
Needless to say, upon testing positive he was banished to the spare room, after which we moved around the house as though playing a game of chess, each waiting for the other to make their move before taking the next, carefully considered step. We circled the dinner table so many times we became giddy! Invisible lines divided our territory. A single red line divided our test results. Meal times became a challenge. After leaving his plate outside his cell (sorry, bedroom) I would rap my knuckles on the door before running back to the kitchen as fast as I could. Anything to prevent those invisible but deadly infectious particles chasing me along the hallway. Clearly, I didn’t run fast enough.
I guess I should be thankful. Compared to many, my symptoms were minor. That said, it still felt as though a pack of razor blades had set up camp in my throat, my entire body ached, and everything I ate or drank tasted inexplicably of salt. I also had a smoker’s cough (despite never having smoked in my life) and just when I thought I’d overcome it, it reminded me who was boss by jabbing me with its sinister tentacles, forcing me to endure another day with zero energy and a salty diet. Thankfully, I missed out on only three social occasions during my self-isolation. With wedding season fast approaching and some of our nearest and dearest due to exchange nuptials, it could have been so much worse. Still, I couldn’t help but feel aggrieved that I’d been forced to miss three eagerly anticipated events, particularly as I’d already endured almost two years of non-existent socialising. My frustration, however, was short-lived. There’s nothing quite like a bout of illness, no matter how long or short, for prompting a period of reflection. I realised, of course, that I had nothing to complain about. When so many others had lost their lives or their income, my irritating cough was irrelevant.
When people had been hospitalised for months, were unable to say a final farewell to their loved ones, or were still dealing with the devastating effects of the pandemic, my own few days of inconvenience paled into insignificance. After all, I was still able to don my frock and fascinator in time to hear the long-awaited declarations of ‘I do’.
Taking time to reflect is something many of us have done since coronavirus reared its ugly head. It upheld that ‘life is too short’ attitude that we often referred to but rarely did anything about. It led people to set up that small business they’d always dreamed of, to write that novel they’d been plotting for years, to book that holiday in Bali, Mauritius or New Zealand. So many life-changing decisions were made. From my own point of view, I was able to reflect on how lucky I had been to survive the pandemic unscathed. My symptoms were slight and shortlived, my taste buds soon losing their salty tang. My loved ones were all still safe and well and I was able to work from home throughout each lockdown.
I wondered how different things might have been had I not been vaccinated and was grateful to live in a society with access to medicines, food, clean water and housing: the things we all take for granted but which so many are forced to live without. But it also made me realise that although we no longer have to sit through the depressing daily coronavirus update on the TV, the disease is still spreading itself far and wide. The world may have decided to carry on regardless but this nasty little virus is here to stay. And whilst the obligation to take tests, report a positive result and selfisolate for ten, seven or however many days has been removed, the Covid bug is multiplying at an alarming rate. In fact, just six weeks after my own bout of the dastardly disease, my sister found herself with a bad cough and a positive test. She, too, had a wedding to attend. Unfortunately for her, she didn’t recover in time to enjoy the celebrations. Far from being salty, her Covid aftertaste was very bitter indeed.
At the time of writing, I still have two weddings to look forward to, both of which have been postponed more than once, both of which I would be gutted to miss. Confetti at the ready, I’m doing everything possible to remain free of the Covid curse. Fingers crossed. www.cpmagazine.net

The 17 Most Exotic Black Sand Beaches Around the World
10
JULY 2022
Latifah Al-Hazza
We are all familiar with tan-colored sand when having a beach day, but have you ever been to a beach with black sand? This may come as a shock, but the inky wonderlands are actually in a number of parts of the world from Tahiti to Costa Rica and even right here in the United States! The tan color of most sand beaches is the result of iron oxide and feldspar, which is brown to tan in its original form. Black sand comes from eroded volcanic material, such as lava, basalt rocks, and other dark-colored rocks and minerals, and is typically on beaches near volcanic activity. Here is our list of the most exotic black sand …see you at the beach!
www.cpmagazine.net
11
Papenoo Beach: Papenoo, Tahiti, French Polynesia
Papenoo Beach, located on Tahiti's northern coast, reminds visitors of the island's volcanic history. This black sand beach is also popular among surfers since it's home to some of the most spectacular waves in the world. The best panoramic view to take in the splendor of this black beach is the headlands at the eastern end of Papeno’o. The black sand beach draws crowds on most weekends, so we recommend enjoying it on a weekday. Opt for spending the weekend enjoying the nearby Papenoo Valley instead. The valley offers sights of lush green mountains and breathtaking waterfalls like Topatari, Puraha, and Vaiharuru falls.
Reynisfjara: Vík í Mýrdal, Iceland One of Iceland's most stunning black sand beaches, Reynisfjara is next to the fishing village of Vík í Mýrdal, on the southern coast of Iceland. With a backdrop of jagged rocks called Reynisdrangar, Perissa Beach: Santorini, Greece and the cliffs of Mount Reynisfjall, this dramatic landscape may Located in the small ancient port city of Eleusis, on the be familiar from the popular TV show, Game of Thrones (season southeastern corner of Santorini, is a unique black sand beach with clear waters and a gigantic rock that rises from the Aegean 7). Monterrico Beach: Monterrico, Guatemala
Along the Pacific coast of Guatemala, Monterrico is a small village that’s part of a nature reserve. The Biotopo Monterrico-Hawaii nature reserve stretches across 12 miles of beach and mangroves. The town has gained popularity for its ecotourism and sea turtle conservation.
12
Due to the volcanic nature of Guatemala, Monterrico beach is made up of black sand, which can heat up quickly in the sun. Because of that, we don’t recommend leaving your shoes and walking barefooted in this sand. The beach is also known for having a strong undercurrent, so only dive in if you're a good swimmer. JULY 2022
Lovina Beach: Bali, Indonesia
Situated on the north coast of Bali, near Singaraja, on a 5-mile stretch of black and gray volcanic sand, you’ll find Lovina Beach. The incredible marine life makes snorkeling and diving here a popular draw, but the main attraction is the playful bottle-nosed dolphins. The dolphins usually appear at sunrise and can be spotted on the horizon.
The name Lovina is said to be derived from the word love and ina (which is Balinese for mother), therefore meaning love for the motherland. Locals believe that Lovina grew from a simple cottage established by a traveler in 1953 to a tourist destination.
Playa Pavones: Pavones, Costa Rica
Playa Pavones is home to one of the largest prehistoric rainforests along the Central American Pacific coast. Located in the Puntarenas region, the area has made its mark by being one of the top surfing destinations in Central America.
Although it offers world-class surfing, it isn’t consistent. There are two types of waves here, the outer wave, which is the larger of the two, and only recommend for experienced surfers, and the inner wave, which provides calmer waves perfect for less experienced surfers. Movies have been filmed here and books have been written about this beach, too.
Karekare Beach: Karekare, New Zealand
Karekare Beach is in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, a wilderness area on the west coast of New Zealand, about 25 miles southwest of Auckland. This remote beach is known for its powerful surf and strong riptides, making it one of the most dangerous surf destinations in New Zealand. The black sand beach, with its dramatic steep cliffs rising from the beach, made an appearance in the 1993 Oscar-winning movie, The Piano. Karekare Falls is about a 15-minute walk from the beach. Follow La Trobe Track to take you to the beautiful falls. The first stop on the trail is Opal Pool Stream Cascade, and as you walk a little further, you’ll see the stunning view of the Karekare Falls.
Playa Negra: Vieques, Puerto Rico
Vieques, an island off the coast of Puerto Rico, is home to Playa Negra, a black sand beach formed from the black sands that wash down from Monte Pirata during heavy rainfall. The cliff walls are composed of driftwood, jagged rocks, and desert-like bushes, all behind a setting of sparkling blue waters and a black sand beach. This unique contrast makes this beach a popular spot for photographers and social media influencers alike. Before the beach became a hotspot for tourists, it was called Playa Negrita, which means little black beach. Fun fact: Victoria’s Secret Angels filmed the Victoria’s Secret Swim Special at Playa Negra. www.cpmagazine.net

Spiaggia di Ficogrande: Stromboli, Italy
A positive to having a volcano on an island is the beautiful dark beaches it creates. Take Stromboli, for example. This Aeolian archipelago is home to a popular black sand beach for swimming and sunbathing, and is called Spiaggia di Ficogrande. The beach is recognized as a Blue Flag beach because it's extraordinarily clean and has absolutely clear waters.
14
Although the island is home to a number of black sand beaches, Spiaggia di Ficogrande is the most accessible. Cafes and toilets are available to sunbathers at the beach. Many small white boats lie on the shores of the black sand beach, making it even more photogenic than it already was. JULY 2022
Saint-Pierre Beach: Saint-Pierre, Martinique
Saint-Pierre Beach in Saint-Pierre, on the French Caribbean Island of Martinique, was once the capital until the town was destroyed by Mount Pelée’s volcanic eruption in 1902, killing thousands of residents. Remnants of the old city can still be found, such as the historic theater that seated 800 people and a prison with a cell that held the only survivor of the volcanic catastrophe. Today the area is a lively tourist destination and most travelers come to awe the volcanic sand beach, which overlooks the volcano.
Miho Beach: Shimizu, Japan
Other than the black sand, the views of Mount Fuji make it worth a trip to Miho Beach. The beach is uniquely lined with thousands of pine trees. Among the pine trees is Hagoromo-no-Matsu. Legend has it that a fisherman once found a robe belonging to a heavenly maiden hanging on the tree's branches. The secondgeneration Hagoromo-no-Matsu pine lived for over 600 years before withering. The trees that line the beach were even named as part of Mount Fuji's UNESCO World Heritage Site. The beach is popular for kayaking, diving, fishing, and windsurfing in the summer months. A nice walking and cycling trail lines the beach.
Santo Domingo Beach: Luzon, Philippines
Santo Domingo is different than most beaches in the Philippines. Located in the town of Santo Domingo in the province of Albay on the island of Luzon, this beach has blue waters, white clouds, and black sand — the perfect combination. The palm trees that cover the area are also a beautiful contrast against the black sand. The textured sand comes from the natural erosion of volcanic rocks from Mount Mayon’s ground lava.
Baixa d'Areia: Caloura, São Miguel, The Azores Baixa d'Areia is a secluded beach near the quaint fishing village of Caloura. The Baixa d'Areia black sand beach has nearby vegetation, black basalt walls, and vineyards.
There's nothing quite like a relaxing beach vacation to recharge and reduce stress, but why not also make it a more unique experience by visiting one of the above black sand beaches? It is quite fascinating what Mother Nature (and humans) can create. Some are remote and harder to reach, while others are known for their gnarly surf waves. Whether you’re into a tropical island vacation or more of a colder glacial vacation, there’s a black sand beach out there for everyone and these are definitely worth the trek.
It's on the southern coast of the volcanic island of São Miguel. São Miguel is the biggest island in the Portuguese Azores archipelago and is known for its volcanic scenery and marine life, such as whales. Twin crater lakes, one green and one blue, are to the northwest, and to the east are fumaroles and hot springs.

FormerlyMe.com presents “Trainers”
WHAT IS FORMERLYME?
Jim West
become the best version of themselves by showing them my journey and experience in trying a new workout and lifestyle regime every 30 days. Every post, update, and video is ‘formerly me’ as I endeavor to become the best version of myself and become FormerlyMe. Each month CP Magazine will showcase a part of my journey to becoming the best version of myself. I hope that in turn this inspires and motivates you to start your own journey as well. For this month’s story we will focus on the “Trainers” during of my journey. 16
JULY 2022
Where to start can be intimidating, but consider the fact that most trainers where just like you and me. Often they were overweight and unhealthy at some point in their lives and they took charge of it. They not only serve as a trainer, but also as an example of what can be achieved if you stay focused and dedicated to your plan and goals.
When people make the decision to take action in regards to their health they often find it immediately daunting of where to begin. Most just show up at a gym or start dieting, but after a few weeks many people just give up. Either they tried too much, too hard, or just didn’t have the proper knowledge and guidance to be successful in their journey. This is where a professional trainer can tremendously impact your ability to achieve your health goals. Many think of trainers as big muscular ‘know it alls’ and fear they will be embarrassed or pushed to extremes. Unfortunately, this happens sometimes, but don’t hesitate to find another trainer who will tailor a plan that works for you. Think of a trainer as your Sherpa up the mountain of fitness. They are there to guide and show you the way and most of all empower you with their knowledge of nutrition.
In this article I want to highlight my trainers that I have had so far in my journey. Gene Labrada, IFBB Pro Jason Brown, Bethany Hope, Ali Wetzel, Carey Drilling, and Kelechi Mbonu. They have all played a huge part in my journey. I hope you find a trainer that is just good as these trainers are. Every gym has great trainers. Just take the steps to find them and begin your journey towards becoming the best version of yourself!
Perhaps more so than the encouragement in workout sessions and weight training guidance, their knowledge on nutrition is perhaps where you will get the most “gains” or “losses” in your pursuit of whatever your health and fitness goals are. If you want abs, every trainer should tell you those are made in the kitchen. If you want to lose weight, it’s nutrition. Nutrition is the biggest factor is any weight loss or muscle gain journey.
Follow my journey online at FormerlyMe.com and on the YouTube channel. Next month I will cover my more unique experiences I had in 2021-2022. Until next time that has been FormerlyMe! facebook.com/FormerlyMe twitter.com/MeFormerly instagram.com/formerlymeofficial www.cpmagazine.net

DO FITNESS TRACKERS IMPROVE YOUR HEALTH?
Fitness trackers and smartwatches are popular tools for getting a detailed look into your daily activity and health data. These gadgets provide logs of various metrics such as your daily total steps, heart rate, sleep quantity, sleep quality, active minutes, and more.
34
While knowing more about your habits and your body's response can be an empowering process, keep in mind that like anything, too much of a good thing is not always best. Here is how fitness trackers can help improve your health and how to best use them for reaching your goals in a balanced way. JULY 2022
Paying attention to your sleep habits is an often-overlooked part of a healthy lifestyle.
4. CALORIE COUNTING AND STICKING WITH A DIET
All wearable fitness trackers and even most phones offer calorie counting programs that detect how many calories you’re burning at any given moment by monitoring your body’s metrics.
5. MONITORING MEDICAL CONDITIONS
1. MAINTAINING MOTIVATION TO EXERCISE While some of us are hard-wired workout machines that never miss a day at the gym, many others need that extra bit of accountability to maintain a healthy exercise schedule. A wearable fitness tracker can be like a little coach that you strap to your wrist and body, reminding you to stick to your fitness goals. These bits of motivating data include: - Monitoring your daily steps - Tallying your calories burned - Recording your workout performance
Fitness trackers can help you move more If you have a long work. getting enough movement into your day or week is tricky. Research shows that the average person only gets slightly over 5,000 steps per day, with some reports reporting an average as low as 3,000.
Fitness trackers can be about more than just beating your personal high score or counting calories. In fact, they can have a very real impact on those with medical conditions. Many fitness tracking devices can: • Send irregular heartbeat alerts to those with heart conditions (useful for people monitoring their RPE vs heartrate) * Monitor glucose levels (when integrated with another device) for those with diabetes * Send an alert if you suffer an accident while exercising
Knowledge is a powerful tool and fitness trackers provide a wealth of information that can be applied to your daily habits to help form lasting motivation and change toward your health goals. Remember that not every piece of data will be accurate and it is still important to seek out medical advice and testing for any concerns.
2. KEEPING TRACK OF HEART RATE
One of the benefits of a fitness tracker is that you can use them as a heart rate monitor. Your tracker will let you know if you’re going too hard or not hard enough. The basic guidelines for a healthy heart rate during exercise are: -Moderate intensity: 50% – 70% of your maximum heart rate. -High intensity: 70% – 85% of your maximum heart rate.
3. MONITORING SLEEP SCHEDULES
Wearable fitness trackers can also be used to record our sleep schedules. Most devices do this by measuring various metrics like your heart rate and movement during the night. They can then assess whether or not we’re getting enough sleep and whether or not that sleep is restful or fitful. www.cpmagazine.net

EVENING COLLECTION
CH CAROLINA HERRERA A journey through the foundations of which an imaginary Casa Herrera is built. All the silhouettes are evolved, rethought, or adapted to new protocols that define a more relaxed elegance. This is how the Evening collection is defined for Fall 2022.
The essential shirtdress in various versions, the black and white yin and yang effect, classic polka dots, or jacquard with Carolina's initials. The use of large bows is renewed with fringes or pleats using techniques such as fil coupé. A constant evolution in which there are no rules, ideas are not limited, and concepts are mixed to surprise the unconditional fans of The Herrera Style. The garments are detached from the body only allowing themselves to be held up to highlight the waist, creating a silhouette that plays with volumes and movement thanks to the use of fluid or fullbodied fabrics. These stand out for their lightness and whimsical shapes.
The color block in its most intense version, Carolina red, fuchsia or emerald, coexists with more neutral tones such as white, navy, or black. With a focus on fabrics such as taffeta, crepe, bambula, and silk chiffon, they stand out for the use of different techniques and exclusive prints of the House.
The Scala Insignia and Marquise clutches dominate as key accessories creating the perfect contrast to elevate any look, from day to night.

RUBY THE BIRTHSTONE OF JULY Top picks that feature Gemfields’ Mozambican rubies Ruby is the birthstone for July, its vibrant red hue perfectly encapsulating the spirit of this sultry summer month, when days are long, hot and intense. Versatile and elegant, these rich red gemstones – which have been described as “the heart of mother Earth” – have long been associated with passion, prosperity and protection. Formed deep beneath the earth’s crust some 500 million years ago – an amazing feat of nature involving intense heat and pressure – rubies have been treasured by everyone from ancient warriors and Hindus to the Chinese – who revere the “lucky” colour red. They remain a firm favourite with A-listers today, such as Jennifer Garner and Gigi Hadid, and feature frequently on the appropriately named “red carpet”. Much has been made of their talismanic properties: in ancient times, warriors would wear them into battle, and they have often been laid beneath the foundations of buildings to provide protection to those who live and work there. Today, rubies are seen as a stylish alternative – and complement – to diamonds. Rarer, and often dearer, than their colourless counterparts, they sit beautifully alongside them, in bracelets, necklaces, rings and earrings, and also hold their own in a statement piece: the Sandy Leong x Gemfields Halo ring, featuring a large, striking Gemfields’ Mozambican ruby, being one perfect example. They range in colour from orangey to bluish reds, with the most coveted gemstones being
those of a pure intense, or even fluorescent, red hue.
There is no better way to give playful uplift to an outfit and harness the power of colour than by weaving in coloured gemstones. Rubies are perfect for adding a touch of fiery red fun and glamour to any look, especially when worn in earrings: whether drop earrings like the Valani Atelier x Gemfields Oriane earrings, a column of rubies and diamonds, or a quirkier take with asymmetric squiggly drop earrings from the Margery Hirschey x Gemfields Barcelona collection. Fabergé x Gemfields Trio earrings from the Colours of Love collection offer a more classic, but just as powerful, look.
Coloured gemstones, and rubies in particular, are an ideal way to make a strong personal statement. To this end, the Francis de Lara x Gemfields Safari Sunset Bloom Ring – with petal-shaped rubies in a flower formation – expresses confidence and a concern for nature. Alternatively, the AYA x Gemfields Chete ring is understated and suited to stacking. Gemfields is a world-leading miner of responsible coloured gemstones, and the majority owner of the most significant recently discovered ruby deposit: Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM) in Mozambique, where rubies were first discovered in 2009, and where some of the world’s largest and most exceptional rubies have originated from, including an extraordinary pair that were recently sold at auction. When it comes to buying rubies, there are “6 Cs” to consider. Diamonds have traditionally been measured and defined by the famous “4 Cs” – colour, cut, clarity and carat – and with rubies, two more, character and certification, are added to the mix, in recognition of the many subtle features of coloured gemstones. Each ruby really does have values and a personality all its own, making the buying process fascinating and personal.
Top buying tips include looking for evenness of colour and good saturation, viewing a gem in daylight and embracing inclusion as part of a gemstone’s unique character. But the most important rule is simply to follow your heart and select the ruby that you fall in love with.

The hotel’s statement curved exterior design is its signature and this architectural innovation continues inside by way of its winding hallways and sleek design. Splashes of colour in common areas and hallways add warmth. Please introduce yourself to our readers.
I am Eman Alayyaf, from Kuwait. I’m the CEO of Eman Alayyaf Trading company which has two branches currently, Kuwait and Bahrain. I’m the first and only Arab woman who owns and runs this type of brokerage firm. My focus is proper and free education. We have done thousands of free seminars, webinars, consultations to teach people trading in the most simplified courses that I have personally created.
Tell us about your education.
I graduated from the Kuwait University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. My passion in trading was mostly self-taught, by practice and experience.
How did you get interested in trading? Who or what inspired you?
I was a very young stay at home mother, and I wanted to create a source of income from home while taking care of my children. So, I was searching how to make money online and then I found out about the world of trading. I started with the demo account at the beginning. I was confused yet also amazed about the idea that I could make money from my computer wherever I was. Then, I decided to learn more and developed myself in this field.
How did you begin your journey with Forex trading?
My beginnings in 2009 was with limited educational resources. Mostly what I learned was from online forums. I applied anything I learned on my real account and lost. Whenever I lost, I developed more and more, although in the beginning I lost a lot, I was consistently learning something new and applying it, I had hundreds of records recording all my trades in details so I could study everything I did and correct my mistakes. I never gave up on myself and I truly believed that I could succeed. I slowly was getting better results and with practice it took me a couple of years to trade professionally and constantly make profits. I was determined to help others and simplify trading to them so they wouldn’t go through what I went through to become professional traders.
What do you need as a trader to start trading Forex?
Firstly, they need to find a broker that they can trust. With that broker they can open a trading account and get access to trade in the financial markets. You need a trustworthy broker and make sure that they are licensed by financial authorities. My company, Eman ALAyyaf trading is an exclusive partner with one of the largest financial brokerages in the world: XTB International Limited. They are licensed by 14 different financial authorities and have 14 branches around the world. After opening an account with the broker, the trader can start learning and applying what they learned on their trading platform that they can access from their phone or laptops. In my company we offer free professional courses so that traders will be ready to trade in as little as two days.
How and why did you feel the need of starting your own company?
I was able to make money on my own from anywhere and I did that for a couple of years which was great, but I really wanted more! It all was about the value, creating change in people’s lives., I had a goal to create new educational content to make it easy & simple for all people that wants to learn trading because for me it was not easy or simple, so I decided to take 10 years of personal experience into new content and methods of new trading & build my own company. And that’s how it started.
When did you officially launch EMAN ALAYYAF TRADING? Where all do you have offices today and what are your further expansion plans?
The launch was in Kuwait on 15th of August 2020. The Bahrain office launch was on 22nd May 2022. We now plan to have offices all over the Arab countries. enshallah.
Are there different trading platforms? Which one would you recommend?
Yes, there are a lots of trading platforms. I recommend Xstation specially for beginners, because the platform has tools that all traders need to make it easier for them to trade an analyse the markets. We offer two trading platforms in our company for traders to choose from. 54
JULY 2022
www.cpmagazine.net
55
How much do you need to start trading?
If you are a beginner, you can start with as little as $ 100 to experience the trading in your own money and the financial markets. But I recommend at least $ 1000 to protect your account and trade safely.
Research shows that women trade better than men. Do you agree with this? Why do you think so?
Men will be mad at me for this. hehe. But yes, I agree 100%. I have thousands of clients and women are doing better! and from my experience I think it’s because of two main reasons. Women pay much more attention to details and they also have less ego than men, it’s easier for them to admit that they are wrong when they are and fix their trading plans accordingly.
What was your biggest mistake ever?
Letting people think for me and make life decisions based on what’s acceptable by society. My life changed the minute I stopped caring about people’s opinions and started doing what I think was right and what made me happy. Which after a few years resulted in being more respected, supported rather than judged, and that’s wonderful!
How many hours/day do you spend currency trading? About one to four hours depending on my schedule. Trading is actually very flexible in terms of how much time you want to put into it.
How do you manage your time? Describe your average day.
My life is crazy right now I honestly don’t have an average day. I travel all the time usually for work but when I’m in Kuwait I like to wake up early get my work tasks done first in the office then I’d try to move a bit whether I take a squash class, walk in a mall or go swimming in the gym. At night I like to meet friends or curl up on a couch with a hot beverage and an interesting book. Fridays are dedicated to family and Saturdays are for self care. I would usually go to the salon or shopping or whatever I feel like doing, because it’s my free day.
What lessons have you learned that have helped you find profitable trades, and keep losses relatively small?
One of the most important things I have learned is risk management and how to manage my losses. You’re dealing with volatile markets that are affected by so much so naturally there will be some losses. Balance the size of your positions with your capital, be patient, stick to your strategy and be confident in your analysis. Accept the small losses and learn from them and you can’t ever be a loser.
Is there a secret strategy that will guarantee you profits in Forex trading?
There are many strategies, the secret is to focus in one strategy that you understand the most and also you can merge between two strategy’s that confirms your analysis.
What has been your proudest moment so far?
56
JULY 2022
Every achievement is a proud moment for me, but to be more precise the opening of (Eman Alayyaf Trading) Kuwait branch, because it all started from there.
What is your favourite quote? What’s yours will get to you!

What is next for you? What would you still like to achieve next?
I am focusing now to expanding further in the Gulf. I have many plans and goals that I want to achieve. It’s never enough for me and I’m addicted to success keep your eyes on.
Your advice for someone wanting to start with Forex?
My advice is to invest in yourself and your time, and to learn from trusted sources, define your goals and strategy and focus on strict risk and capital management.
Your message for us at CP magazine.
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I’m so honoured to be the cover story and I wish that my words would inspire and teach someone something valuable. Thank you!

NEW JULY RELEASES
Agent Josephine: American Beauty, French Hero, British Spy
by Damien Lewis Prior to World War II, Josephine Baker was a music-hall diva renowned for her singing and dancing, her beauty and sexuality; she was the highest-paid female performer in Europe. When the Nazis seized her adopted city, Paris, she was banned from the stage, along with all “negroes and Jews.” Yet instead of returning to America, she vowed to stay and to fight the Nazi evil. Overnight, she went from performer to Resistance spy. In Agent Josephine, bestselling author Damien Lewis uncovers this little-known history of the famous singer’s life. During the war years, as a member of the French Nurse paratroopers—a cover for her spying work—Baker participated in numerous clandestine activities and emerged as a formidable spy. In turn, she was a hero of the three countries in whose name she served—the US, France, and Britain. Drawing on a plethora of new historical material and rigorous research, including previously undisclosed letters and journals, Lewis upends the conventional story of Josephine Baker, explaining why she fully deserves her unique place in the French Panthéon.
Keya Das's Second Act by Sopan Deb
Shantanu Das is living in the shadows of his past. In his fifties, he finds himself isolated from his traditional Bengali community after a devastating divorce from his wife, Chaitali; he hasn’t spoken to his eldest daughter Mitali in months; and most painfully, he lives each day with the regret that he didn’t accept his teenaged daughter Keya after she came out as gay. As the anniversary of Keya’s death approaches, Shantanu wakes up one morning utterly alone in his suburban New Jersey home and realizes it’s finally time to move on. This is when Shantanu discovers a tucked-away box in the attic that could change everything. He calls Mitali and pleads with her to come home. She does so out of pity, not realizing that her life is about to shift. Inside the box is an unfinished manuscript that Keya and her girlfriend were writing. It’s a surprising discovery that brings Keya to life briefly. But Neesh Desai, a new love interest for Mitali with regrets of his own, comes up with a wild idea, one that would give Keya more permanence: what if they are to stage the play? It could be an homage to Keya’s memory, and a way to make amends.

But an unexpected offer from the US military has brought her to Lisbon with a new mission: posing as a librarian while working undercover as a spy gathering intelligence. Meanwhile, in occupied France, Elaine has begun an apprenticeship at a printing press run by members of the Resistance. It’s a job usually reserved for men, but in the war, those rules have been forgotten. Yet she knows that the Nazis are searching for the press and its printer in order to silence them. As the battle in Europe rages, Ava and Elaine find themselves connecting through coded messages and discovering hope in the face of war.
Zibby Owens has become a well-known personality in the publishing world. Her infectious energy, tasteful authenticity, and smart, steadfast support of authors started in childhood, a precedent set by the profound effect books and libraries had on her own family. But after losing her closest friend on 9/11 and later becoming utterly stressed out and overwhelmed by motherhood, Zibby was forgetting what made her her. She turned to books and writing for help. Just when things seemed particularly bleak, Zibby unexpectedly fell in love with a tennis pro turned movie producer who showed her the path to happiness: away from type A perfectionism and toward “letting things unfold organically.” What “unfolded” was a meaningful career, a great love, and finally, her voice, now heard by millions of listeners.
The Man Who Could Move Clouds: The Scandalous Hamiltons: A Gilded Age A Memoir
by Simran Jeet Singh
by Ingrid Rojas Contreras
As a boy growing up in South Texas, Simran Jeet Singh and his brothers confronted racism daily: at school, in their neighborhood, playing sports, and later in college and beyond. Despite the prejudice and hate he faced, this self-described "turban-wearing, brown-skinned, beard-loving Sikh" refused to give in to negativity. Instead, Singh delved deep into the Sikh teachings that he grew up with and embraced the lessons to seek the good in every person and situation and to find positive ways to direct his energy. These Sikh tenets of love and service to others have empowered him to forge a life of connection and a commitment to justice that have made him a national figure in the areas of equity, inclusion, and social justice. The Light We Give lays out how we can learn to integrate ethical living to achieve personal happiness and a happier life. It speaks to those who are inspired to take on positive change but don't know where to begin. To those who crave the chance to be empathetic but are afraid of looking vulnerable. To those who seek the courage to confront hatred with love and compassion. Singh reaches beyond his comfort zone to practice this deeper form of living and explores how everyone can learn the insights and skills that have kept him engaged and led him to commit to activism without becoming consumed by anger, self-pity, or burnout.
For Ingrid Rojas Contreras, magic runs in the family. Raised amid the political violence of 1980s and '90s Colombia, in a house bustling with her mother's fortune-telling clients, she was a hard child to surprise. Her maternal grandfather, Nono, was a renowned curandero, a community healer gifted with what the family called "the secrets" the power to talk to the dead, tell the future, treat the sick, and move the clouds. And as the first woman to inherit "the secrets," Rojas Contreras' mother was just as powerful. Mami delighted in her ability to appear in two places at once, and she could cast out even the most persistent spirits with nothing more than a glass of water. This legacy had always felt like it belonged to her mother and grandfather, until, while living in the U.S. in her twenties, Rojas Contreras suffered a head injury that left her with amnesia. As she regained partial memory, her family was excited to tell her that this had happened before: Decades ago Mami had taken a fall that left her with amnesia, too. And when she recovered, she had gained access to "the secrets." In 2012, spurred by a shared dream among Mami and her sisters, and her own powerful urge to relearn her family history in the aftermath of her memory loss, Rojas Contreras joins her mother on a journey to Colombia to disinter Nono's remains.

by Bill Shaffer It's a story almost too tawdry to be true--a con woman prostitute who met the descendant of a Founding Father in a brothel, duped him into marriage using an infant purchased from a baby farm, then went to prison for stabbing the couple's baby nurse--all while in a common-law marriage with another man. The scandal surrounding Evangeline and Robert Ray Hamilton, though little known today, was one of the sensations of the Gilded Age, a sordid, gripping tale involving bigamy, bribery, sex, and violence. When the salacious Hamilton story emerged in during Eva's trial for the August 1889 stabbing, it commanded unprecedented national and international newspaper coverage thanks to the telegraph and the recently founded Associated Press. For the New York dailies, eager to capture readers through provocative headlines, Ray and Eva were a godsend. As lurid details emerged, the public's fascination grew--how did a man of Hamilton's stature become entangled with such an adventuress? Nellie Bly, the world-famous investigative reporter, finagled an exclusive interview with Eva after her conviction. Hamilton's death under mysterious circumstances, a year after the stabbing, added to the intrigue.

It was 1993, when the world of dinosaurs were brought to life on the big screen by the great director, Steven Spielberg in Jurassic Park. Based on a novel by Michael Crichton, this film would smash box office records and launch a franchise consisting of now six films, video games, toys, and a Jurassic Park themed ride at Universal Studios. Worth billions of dollars this franchise will most definitely not go extinct like its main characters anytime soon. This film we bring two groups of film franchises together. The Jurassic World group of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard is now meeting up with the folks that started it all in Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum. Bringing the old and the new together is an eventual step in the series, and the way they handled it all was actually pretty well. Giving every character their moments to shine and develop. Kudos to the two writer’s for that heavy balancing act. Especially when competing for screen time amongst actions sequences and of course the dinosaurs. The film kicks off four years after the events of the previous film where dinosaurs have left the island and are all across the globe. The montage of news stories and online video clips makes for a perfect transition to catch up the viewer on life today with dinosaurs. The plot involves a girl that is the cloned daughter of one of the men who created the cloned dinosaurs. She is wanted by many groups for various reasons, which at first are not too clear. The plot also involves a company called Biosyn Genetics who leads the research on dinosaurs for medical advancements and houses dinosaurs at a government approved dinosaur preserve in Italy’s Dolomite Mountains. That’s just the first five minutes of the film.
Here comes the spoilers.
A young Michael meets his adoptive brother Milo who both suffer form We get introduced to some neat landscapes of horses and dinosaurs running wild. We see predator dinosaurs which track prey when targeted by a laser. Dinosaur black markets was another neat scene. These scenes are great to help setup action sequences. The secondary plot involving locust decimating crops across America is where the film brings in our old crew with Dr. Ellie Sattler (Dern), Dr. Alan Grant (Neill), and Dr. Ian Malcolm (Goldblum). They meet the CEO of Biosyn Genetics, Dr. Lewis Dodgson. He is essentially the main villain of Jurassic Park and the books. Yet here he isn’t played to any real level of villainy. He just sort of acts very hyper and then frustrated. Never yells. Doesn’t display any menacing actions or feelings at all. In fact any film with good versus evil typically leans the heaviest on how great the villain is. In this film it is just not much of a villain. That perhaps is the biggest let down of the film. No solid villain to fear. Henchmen…check. Evil laboratory and schemes…. check. Just no real motivation to do the things he does. On top of that the scenes, where you expect him to go stark raving mad he simply doesn’t. Such a shame. This is a character that deserved a meltdown given the series of events from his perspective. Horribly constructed villain aside, we get treated to some solid action sequences, lots of dinosaurs fighting dinosaurs, and finally a subtle love story that finally brings two characters together after all these years. Such a jam packed film to see, but this film simply lacks a real villain. A villain to make you squirm in your seat. Make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Your stomach churn. Make you turn your face away at the horror of the madness or evil they inhibit. This film will no doubt be considered a success at the box office, but as for a film worth rewatching again and again…not so much. Get the villain right and you give you heroes a real challenge and fight to the end. Thanks for reading Writing Movie ‘WRONGS’. www.cpmagazine.net

HOROSCOPES (March 21 - April 19)
(July 23 - August 22)
ARIES
LEO
July asks you to nurture your dreams and emotions, dear Aries, as the sun continues its journey through Cancer and your solar fourth house. These sentiments will be exaggerated beginning on July 4, when your ruling planet Mars enters Taurus, bringing a stabilizing energy that inspires you to invest in yourself and your goals. Meanwhile, Mercury enters Cancer on that same day, allowing you to see your agenda and the path ahead with more clarity. These vibes are also great for bringing more organization to your space, especially if you’re prone to losing items or collecting clutter. Venus enters Cancer on the seventeenth, encouraging you to open your heart over the next several weeks. This planetary placement can also help you connect with that special someone in new and intimate ways, though you’ll need to be transparent about your feelings to reap these rewards. Date nights in the comfort of your abode will be particularly successful, especially if you cook your beloved something extra special. Since Venus rules aesthetics, you might also be inspired to redecorate your home or, at the very least, add a few new accent pieces.
(April 20 - May 20)
TAURUS July brings you opportunities to make new friends and feed your curious side, dear Taurus, as the sun travels through Cancer and your solar third house. This cosmic climate makes it easier for you to let down your guard, since connecting on an emotional level is more organic, especially after Mercury joins the sun under the sign of the Crab on July 4. Mars enters your sign on that day as well, so your passions could be elevated, helping you connect with your motivation and lust for life. Feeling heard and emotionally supported in your love life will be a priority for you beginning when sweet Venus enters sensitive Cancer on the seventeenth. While this planetary placement can help you define the bond you share with that special someone, you could begin to feel invisible if your partner isn’t investing enough time or energy in understanding your thoughts and feelings. Intellectual stimulation could also be more of a priority in all of your relationships, whether romantic or platonic. Luckily, if you do find that your love life is lacking, you’ll have an opportunity to fulfill your own heart through personal studies, meeting new people and sharing ideas.
(May 21 - June 20)
GEMINI You’ll be feeling generous this month, dear Gemini, because Cancer season activates your solar second house, inspiring you to show love through the material realm. However, there’s a big cosmic lesson for you about using your resources wisely, making it important that you outline a reasonable budget for the month before you start spoiling your nearest and dearest with surprises and gifts. You’ll also want to keep an eye on your emotional expenses. Give your energy only to those who would provide you with the same amount of support. You’ll notice a shift when your ruling planet Mercury enters Cancer on July 4, bringing a grounded yet sensitive energy to the table. This planetary placement gives you a chance to process your feelings in a calm and methodical way, as long as you give yourself the space to sort through your psyche and are willing to have honest conversations. Unfortunately, these vibes can also bring out your stubbornness, especially if you feel as though someone has hurt or wronged you. If you do find yourself in conflict, try your best to see the situation from both sides without betraying your own heart.
(June 21 - July 22)
CANCER This month brings many blessings your way, dear Cancer, as the sun continues its journey through your sign, boosting your popularity, energy level and sense of self. Good vibes continue to flow once Mercury enters Cancer on July 4, elevating your wit and mind over the next several weeks. Use this cosmic climate to your advantage by asking for the things you want in both your personal and professional lives. The energy surrounding you can work to your benefit, but only if you lean into your voice and intellect. The Capricorn full moon on the thirteenth activates the Nodes of Fate and brings important shifts your way. You’ll have an opportunity to set necessary boundaries for yourself and your relationships, creating a healthier social structure for the future. These vibes also encourage you to finally cut ties with a toxic ex who might be lingering in your rearview mirror. This is a great time to clear out any items that belonged to an old flame and be sure to follow up with a social media purge as well.

JULY 2022
You’ll feel things more deeply than usual this month, sweet Lion, as the sun continues its journey through sensitive Cancer, activating the sector of your chart that governs the subconscious and all things hidden. You’ll have an opportunity to fully explore your heart and mind through quiet introspection, though your desire for solitude could make your friends wonder where you went. Unfortunately, socialization might lose some of its appeals because you could be highly sensitive to the emotions and thoughts of those around you. Juicy gossip or unexpected news could begin to emerge after Mercury moves into Cancer on July 4, exposing information that your friends or family members might have tried to conceal. Unfortunately, this planetary placement could also coax a few skeletons out of your own closet, but taking accountability for your past can help you execute any damage control. Luckily, your elevated intuition can help you better understand what it is that others need to hear right now, giving you an opportunity to speak mindfully and with grace.
(August 23 - September)
VIRGO Emotional bonds can form quickly for you this month, dear Virgo, as the Cancer sun illuminates your solar eleventh house. Though this luminary placement is certainly beneficial when it comes to making friends, you’ll want to be mindful of how deeply you confide in someone who’s new to your circle. You might also feel inspired to let down your guard on social media, especially once Mercury enters Cancer on July 4. Airing your personal drama on such platforms should be avoided, especially if you’re in the middle of a conflict or falling out. A dreamy and flirtatious energy finds you when Mercury cozies up to the sun on the sixteenth and shares a sweet connection with ethereal Neptune. This celestial environment is ideal for escaping into a world that revolves around love, making it the perfect time to melt into your mate. If you’re currently single, give yourself permission to pamper yourself without shame as the stars ask you to unwind into a moment of grace. Positive thoughts and a sunny disposition are the keys to unlocking these supportive vibes, so be sure to focus on the bright side of life.
(September 23 - October)
LIBRA You’ll learn a few lessons about emotional boundaries this month, dear Libra, as the sun continues its journey through Cancer and your solar tenth house. This luminary placement will take you on a journey filled with ups and downs, helping you identify what you will and won’t put up with from other people, especially during the Capricorn full moon on July 13. This cosmic event could inspire you to lay low for the day as the Universe pushes you to unplug socially and recharge spiritually. You’ll feel a shift when Venus enters Cancer on the seventeenth, turning your focus to financial and professional matters over the next several weeks. However, you’ll need to open up your heart to the idea of success. Trust that you’re worthy of occupational triumph and that the Universe will help you achieve it. These vibes could also bring a new crush to the workplace, but you’ll want to proceed with caution if you start to develop feelings for a colleague. July 22 marks the beginning of Leo season, which could bring a struggle between you and your ego as another solar return looms around the corner. While some days will be better than others, it will be important that you stay focused on how you can improve rather than beat yourself up over what you have yet to accomplish.
(October 23 - November)
SCORPIO Cancer season, when the sun illuminates your solar ninth house, is one of the most spiritual times of the year for you, dear Scorpio. This cosmic climate will open you up to messages from beyond the veil, especially when Mercury joins the sun under the sign of the Crab on July 4. Make the most of these vibes by implementing a consistent practice of meditation or prayer. Doing so will surely strengthen your connection to the other side, and it will come in handy whenever you’re in need of support or guidance from the Universe. Meanwhile, your planetary ruler Mars enters Taurus that same day, filling you with passion while opening your heart to love in all its forms. The Capricorn full moon on the thirteenth shifts your focus to more serious matters as the stars align to help you think critically about your goals. This lunar event shines a light on what the path ahead might bring, though it will likely come with its fair share of sacrifices and hard work. Luckily, the energy at play can help you set some serious boundaries with yourself, which will come in handy if you need to break a few bad habits in order to reclaim your clarity and drive for success.
(November 22 - December)
SAGITTARIUS You could find yourself in a transactional headspace this month, dear Archer, as the Cancer sun illuminates your solar eighth house. This luminary placement is great for helping you identify imbalances in your emotional connections as you examine who in your life gives as much as you do. Unfortunately, you’ll also feel a touch more sensitive than usual, which could result in obsessive, possessive or jealous behavior if you’re not careful. Nostalgia might also creep in at any moment, though you should resist the temptation to snoop on past romantic or platonic partners, no matter how tempting it might be. Themes of commitment will begin to manifest when sweet Venus enters watery Cancer on July 17. If you’ve been casually dating, this could be the celestial event that inspires you to commit to someone special. Your heart hungers for intimate connection and nurturing. Should you find yourself in the midst of a breakup, the energy at play can help you expedite the process of mending your heart, though you’ll need to be okay with releasing your ex mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
(December 22 - January 19)
CAPRICORN Cancer season is one of the most romantic times of the year for you, dear Capricorn, as the sun makes its way through the sector of your chart that governs matters of the heart. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, the air fills with a certain sweetness that’s hard to deny as the Universe asks you to open yourself up to love in all its forms. Meanwhile, you could begin to notice a shift within yourself once Mercury enters Cancer on July 4, helping you let down your guard with little to no effort. The full moon manifests under your sign on the thirteenth, bringing a rush of emotion and energy your way. You might feel more vulnerable or exposed than usual, making it important that you surround yourself only with positive and supportive people. However, this energy can also help you begin a new social cycle as you step away from old friends in order to make way for new ones. Try not to forget the people who have been there for you over the years even as you begin to form new bonds elsewhere.
(January 20 - February 18)
AQUARIUS You’ll be in a compassionate and nurturing mood this month, dear Aquarius, as the Cancer sun illuminates the sector of your chart that governs service. Though you’ll feel more sensitive to the needs of those around you, don’t abandon your own desires while you’re catering to others’ or you could lose touch with your emotions. Luckily, you’ll have an opportunity to hold on to clarity and a desire for wellness beginning when sharp-witted Mercury enters Cancer on July 4. This planetary placement allows you to intuitively tap into what your mind, body and soul crave, though you’ll need to be proactive about attaining such comforts. The twelfth brings some excitement to your love life as Venus forms a supportive aspect to your planetary ruler Saturn. This celestial connection adds fun and fire to any romantic affair you’re involved in, so be sure to plan something exciting for you and your sweetie (or bestie if you’re currently single).
(February 19 - March 20)
PISCES While you’re often comfortable playing the role of a wallflower, you’ll be in a more open and extroverted mood as the Cancer sun travels through your solar fifth house this month. This luminary placement lights a fire within as the Universe pushes you to pursue the things that bring you passion and excitement, though moments of solitude will still be welcome. When you do carve out time for yourself, try to spend hours working on a passion project or creative endeavor. You’ll find that an artistic outlet can bring major healing to your heart during this time. The Capricorn full moon on July 13 could have you pondering your role in society, inspiring you to seek a bit of notoriety in your community. This is a great time to get involved in causes that are near and dear to your heart and elevate both your soul and reputation. These vibes could also inspire you to make new connections online, so don’t be shy if you follow someone you’d like to get to know better. Building up your brand could also come into play right now, especially if you rely on the Internet to generate business or connect with your following.
