Winter style Create three stunning looks with your free Dorothea Tea Dress pattern and choose a collar and sleeve length to suit your style With three sleeve lengths, two necklines and two different skirts to choose from, the Dorothea Tea Dress is the perfect pattern to take you from autumn through to winter. With a dress as stylish as this, it’s easy to transform your look from day to evening, too. Simply swap a cardi for a glitzy jacket and if you want to really glam up, add a bright belt, heels and matching accessories. We chose a soft jersey for this gorgeous teal dress, as it’s warm, drapes beautifully and is easy to sew too, but you can also use a challis, faille or crepe if you’d like a floaty or more formal look.

Choosing your correct pattern size 1. Bust – measure around the fullest part of your bust and straight across your back. 2. Chest – measure around your body above the fullest part of your bust. 3. To determine your cup size you will need two measurements: Bust: measure straight across the back over the fullest part of the bust. High bust: measure across your back, high up under the arm and across the top of your bust. Deduct HIGH BUST measurement from BUST measurement for the difference. Using the DIFFERENCE measurement, find your cup size on the chart below:

Top tips for sewing with sweater knits 1
The term ‘sweater knits’ describes a number of fabrics which resemble hand-knitted, textured fabric including wool or cotton jersey and rib knits.
2 3 4 5
Use a stretch needle to prevent puncturing the fabric. Minimize pressing, so you don’t flatten the texture with heat and steam. When pressing is needed, apply just the tip of the iron to the seam.
Wash finished garments carefully by hand, avoiding heat or agitation, and they will keep their shape and texture.
