Flutter Away
Create a card blank, 10.5cm x 14.5cm. Stamp a butterfly four times, each in a different colour, onto white card. Place a sentiment across the bottom using black ink, then mount the panel onto mint card and glue on the blank.
Gift Bag
Easy batchmake
Trim white card slightly smaller than the size of a gift bag. Stamp green vines onto the bottom, then a blue butterfly. Add a 'Thank you' sentiment to the top. Wrap ribbon around the panel, tie into a bow and attach a gem. Secure onto blue card and glue to the front of the gift bag.
Just A Note
Emboss a square of blue card and mount onto pink. Place ribbon across the bottom and glue onto a blank, 11.5cm square. Stamp flowers and colour with watercolour pens, then cut out and attach with foam pads. Stamp, mount and secure the 'Just a note' sentiment in place, adding gems to finish.

Cut white card, 11.5cm square, and stamp a sentiment, butterflies and flowers. Mount onto pink and purple card, then fix onto a blank, 13cm square.

Mount red card onto grey and place on a blank. Attach striped paper onto grey card and lay across. Stamp flowers on a white panel and colour. Make a card blank, 11.5cm square. Mount an ivory panel, 10cm square, onto lilac and purple card. Attach ribbon onto a strip of purple and glue in place. Die-cut 'Friend' twice and attach, overlaying slightly. Stamp a flower and fill in with watercolours, then cut out and glue onto the ivory panel. Add enamel dots to finish.

FairyWISHES Greeting Colour a magical
Whatever the season, fairy themes have an enchanting quality that can be adapted for any occasion, and this dainty card by star crafter Kitty Frampton features a sweet, whimsical motif created with just one stamp. Colour in the image, blending gently, then mount onto bright card and finish with a die-cut sentiment. Now all that is left to do is add your message and send it off with love.

Cut and fold white card to create a top-folding blank, 10cm x 14cm. Trim green card, 10cm x 12.5cm, and glue onto the front. Die-cut a stitched-edged scallop from turquoise card. Trim to a 10cm strip and glue onto the bottom of the green panel. Trim magenta card, 9cm x 10cm, and attach a small piece of turquoise at the top. Add little groups of dots using a white gel pen all over the pink panel, then stick onto the card. Cut two thin strips of pink and blue card with fishtail ends and glue in place so they overlap. Diecut 'hello' from white and position using foam pads. Stamp the fairy and flowers using black ink onto white card. Colour each of the images with alcohol markers, then cut out. Attach the four flowers and fairy onto the card with foam pads. Add three self-adhesive gems to finish. CB

BUTTERFLY MOTIFS Keren Baker gets creative with winged designs
It's time to emerge from your Christmas cocoon and find fresh inspiration for the springtime: this month it's in the form of butterflies! Spread your wings and you'll soon be trying out an array of different techniques, from paper piecing to stamping and die-cutting.

Die-cut a Treat Bag
1 Using green card, 7cm x 26.5cm, score at 12cm and 14.5cm. Add patterned paper to the front and punch a hole in the top of the two layers. Die-cut a small butterfly twice in white, yellow and pink patterned paper. Fold each one, then adhere the three different colours together. 2 Trim out a butterfly from the patterned paper and add to the front of the treat bag, along with the stacked butterflies. Wrap ribbon around the base, then attach a bag filled with sweets in the centre. Tie yellow twine to secure the two layers together.

KEREN’S TOP TIP S To make the paper piecing easier, use a base when you’re tracing around the edge of the die or adhering the die-cut shape onto a base card or notebook. When cutting intricate dies, it may be necessary to run the motif through your machine more than once. Rotate for even pressure across all areas. Instead of paper piecing, you could also adhere the butterfly to a plain white blank and carefully colour in each section individually.
Decorate a Butterfly Notebook
Cover a 10cm x 14cm notebook in green patterned paper. Die-cut the medium butterfly from white card and secure to the book front. Fold the excess around the back and adhere. Die-cut patterned paper and fix into the spaces. Add the insides of the body beneath the butterfly written on it.
Create a Celebration Card
1 Create a white blank, 14cm x 15.5cm, and mount green star paper. Add a strip of pink paper at the bottom. Die-cut a Mariposa butterfly from white card. Trace around the edge of the die and cut out, then adhere together. 2 Die-cut the butterfly from a variety of patterned papers, then adhere onto the die-cut base. Score the middle of the design, then die-cut a butterfly centre from patterned paper and card. Secure together. Add foam pads near the centre of the folded design and secure onto the card base. Stamp and trim out a sentiment, then add to the butterfly. CB

IT'S IN WITH THE NEW, AS STEPHANIE WEIGHTMAN MAKES HER RESOLUTIONS
D New looks with Broderie Lace and Rose dies LOVING TOUCH
o you have any resolutions? I feel like I make them every year, but rarely stick to them. So this time, I've decided to make a few I can actually keep. One treat I just can't resist is learning a new craft, so I've decided to revisit an interest I haven't indulged in recently. With that in mind, I've booked myself onto a pottery class, as I'm determined to learn how to it do properly, and I also intend to take the time to make a complete parchment card: fingers crossed! In the meantime, I've been getting crafty with Tattered Lace Broderie dies to concoct gorgeous floral blessings for the new year – they are the perfect way to celebrate traditional styles while you toast fresh experiences.
Make Your Own...
Create two lilac die-cuts with the Broderie Lace Square Edger, then attach one to the base and one to the front of an easel card. Cut the Label Edge twice in lilac and once in white, matt two for a stopper and add one to the front. Finish with a lace square, With Love sentiment, flowers and a bow.
Create a white blank, 15cm square, and mount with gold foil, 14.5cm square. Prepare a stencil with the Broderie Lace Square die, then use a pink ink-pad to create a background on white card, 14cm square. Top with a pink 12cm square, then cut the Lace Square Edger die in foil and matt onto the main front. Use the Lace Square die on white and ink the edges in pink, then mount on the main card. After using the Lace Square Label Edge die on pink, stamp a sentiment in the centre, apply gold embossing powder and matt onto the main card. Create a cluster of paper flowers for the bottom corner, fasten a pink bow in the top left and top with a small bud.
INDIGO BLUE Fold back a card, 14cm square. Cut two smaller squares from blue and white, plus two rectangles, then layer on the back and front. Make two Lace Square Edgers from blue, two Lace Squares from white, one Label Edge from blue and With Love from white. Matt the edgers and squares, add to the card and finish with a flower.

ROSE TINTED Cut a rectangle, 14cm x 18cm, from patterned paper. Add blue glitter and matt onto a card, 14.5cm x 18.5cm. Glitter the edges of a smaller white rectangle and matt onto the main card. Create a die-cut using Shabby Rose, tint, add glitter and matt onto the front, then add a die-cut sentiment.
