Overseeding The lush ‘green’ turf of last season will be reintroduced this winter with overseeding on Monday, November 2 and Tuesday, November 3 (at which time the course and range will be closed). Rye grass will be used for the rough and fairways. The process of overseeding involves extensive watering to ensure the seed stays moist so that germination begins. Germination (aka the sprouting) of a rye grass seed takes between 10 to 14 days so the golf course will resume its fast playing surfaces and lower heights by November 23. The maintenance staff appreciates your patience during this process.

Caring For Your Course
Cart Traffic
It is every player’s obligation to take care of the courses we play. In order to maintain good course conditions, we ask for your participation in the following maintenance practices:
Continual cart traffic over the same area stresses turf conditions. It’s always best to stay on the cart path whenever possible.
Parking Near Tees & Greens Please obey cart directional signs, ropes and posts while playing. Please do not park closer than 30’ from the greens and please do not park on the tee boxes. This rule applies to those who have been issued handicap flags as well.
➤
Divot Repair Etiquette Gate posts on #11: (Top) Entrance to fairway from forward teeing ground. (Bottom) Exit from fairway.
The New ‘Gate’ System for Cart Traffic Excessive cart traffic has a detrimental effect on the quality of your playing surfaces. This season, the use of two indicator posts will be used to indicate a ‘gate’ entrance to the fairway and a ‘gate’ exit from the fairway as illustrated above. We ask that you please: • Enter and exit fairways only through the gate system. • Drive carts and use pull carts in the fairways during play; please do not drive in any other areas of the course. • Help us spread the word. Thank you for doing your part to ensure the best playing conditions!
Ball Mark Repairs Please always repair your ball marks. Doing so keeps the greens healthy so that you can enjoy smooth rolling putts.
Repairing your divots with the sand provided allows the grass to heal properly and in a timely manner.
Tap Down Spike Marks & Pick-up Your Feet Please tap down spike marks and always fix your ball mark, plus one more. Additionally, never drag your feet across the greens.
Game Improvement Programs Daily clinics resume in October for all CRCC Members. We offer programs for all ages and skill levels, so we encourage you to get involved!

ONE OF THE MAIN
objectives this summer was to improve the teeing surface of the front side of the driving range. We used aerification and heavy rolling to level out the surface and improve overall turf conditions. First, we removed the aerification plugs from the tee surface to open up channels to the root zone. Then we added several tons of sand containing organic matter. This 2-step process promotes faster growth long-term as it helps hold nutrients and water in the root area and provides a softer surface so that the teeing area remains level and smooth. Thank you for your patience throughout the summer.
Men’s 9-Holers Thursdays, 5 pm Shotgun start through Oct. 29 and 4 pm starts effective Nov. 5
Play With The Pro The ever-popular Play with the Pro will continue throughout the season. Please check the calendar in the Golf Shop. Sign-up with the pro of your choice and select the date and time to play. It’s that easy. Plus, your cart fees are on us for the first round. We look forward to building a relationship with you and improving your game!

Our campers enjoyed 10 weeks of camp this summer. Children from ages 3 through 14 covered the courts learning basic skills and how to compete in the sport of tennis. This summer we were fortunate to have not only locals, but participants from all over the world! We had campers from England, Norway, Germany, Brazil, and Peru, creating a truly “international” tennis camp. Check out our after school programs to continue to improve your children’s tennis skills!

Trish Winik joined our staff in July as the Saturday tennis pro shop attendant. In addition to this position, Trish will also be stringing and gripping tennis racquets, helping with inventory and merchandising, and assisting and promoting events. Trish is a tennis player and plays league tennis in Broward County. Please stop by to meet Trish when you get a chance.
The Tennis Pro Shop gets a major update! Please stop by the Tennis Pro Shop to check out our new look. Over the summer we made some layout changes to make it a more desirable place to shop and register for play. We have also added some new lines of clothing and racquets. As always, Members automatically get a 20% discount on racquets, shoes and clothing! ➤
Fridays, 6 - 7:30 pm Members sign up as a team and stay with their partner throughout the evening. There is no charge, but space is limited to the first 8 players who sign up. The round robin will arranged by the Tennis Pro Shop. Players are encouraged to meet their fellow Members for Martini Madness and dinner following play. Our clinics are offered throughout the season for both Women and Juniors. Our Junior program can take your child through the “roadmap” to learning and perfecting the sport of tennis. We begin with our Mighty Mites (ages 3 & up) through the pre- tournament level (Level III). For our female Members we offer both a beginner and intermediate level. Each of our clinics run for 6 weeks consecutively.

C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
