LEARN TO SWIM: TODDLER/YOUTH
ABOUT LEARN TO SWIM
Learn to Swim at the Town of Castle Rock is designed to progressively develop swimmers who are ready for a life in and around the water. To accomplish this, the program is set up in four phases. Because we understand not everyone starts their swimming adventure at the same age, we have also created two age-based tracks to group the swimmers with peers around the same age.
Parent Tot is designed to help children and their guardians feel comfortable in the water. Through play and smiles, the littles are able to learn and associate pool time as fun time!
Our Fundamentals phase is designed to teach coordinated movement in the water, as well as water safety. Swimmers who complete the fundamentals will have learned the basics of moving through the water effectively and comfortably.
Stroke Development swimmers are ready to put their skills to work learning the basic freestyle (front crawl) and back strokes. Skills learned also include the ground work for more specified strokes such as breaststroke and butterfly.
Stroke Refinement swimmers in this phase are ready to move with efficiency and purpose. Our goal for this phase is to create and improve competitive swimmers as well as prepare those who love the water to become lifeguards.

PICKLEBALL
PICKLEBALL
Are you familiar with pickleball? This rapidly expanding sport, akin to a blend of badminton, tennis and table tennis, has become the fastest growing recreational activity in Castle Rock. Its blend of fun and social interaction makes it appealing to individuals of all ages. With its easy-to-learn rules and the opportunity for a satisfying physical workout, pickleball offers something for everyone. Interested in joining the fun? Explore our available options below and select the ones that suit you best.
Sessions: Our sessions offer round robin style play with up to 11 others of similar skill levels. Each registration period spans eight weeks and takes place either indoors or outdoors, depending on the season. If you're new to Castle Rock, reach out to arivera@CRgov.com to be assigned to an appropriate skill group and kick-start your pickleball experience.
Leagues: Our leagues cater to players seeking a more competitive environment within a team setting (similar to a bowling league). Participants register as teams and compete weekly against other teams. At the conclusion of each season, winners will be recognized. Teams can register in the division they believe best aligns with their skill level.
Drop-in: For all indoor sessions, we have daily drop-in times where players of any skill level can sign up to play for $10. Drop-in sign ups can be done seven days in advance and players might play other players levels 2.0 to 4.0. We do not have this option during our outdoor schedule.
Tournaments: Throughout the year, we offer different tournaments both indoors and outdoors. Come test out your skills by registering as a team and playing others for bragging rights and medals. Check out our registration page for the most up-to-date information.
Community play: Anytime the courts are not reserved for Town programming, courts are open to be used by all community members. No evaluation, previous experience or partner required. Please follow all court rules, which can be found at each park.
Outdoor courts can be found at Butterfield Crossing, Cobblestone Ranch, Deputy Zack S. Parrish III Memorial, Emerald and Founders parks.
Rent courts: If you want to make sure you have the court all to yourself, we have specific times courts are available for rent for $10 per hour. These are rented hourly and can be booked two weeks in advance. No refunds are given for any reason, so make sure the time, weather and location work for you and your party.

CANTRIL KIDS — STORY TIME AND CRAFTS
Children's story time and craft sessions are a vibrant blend of fun and learning, designed to cultivate a wide array of essential skills in young learners. Each season, a curated list of books will reflect themes relevant to the time of year. These selections will be read by guest readers from all Town departments! Through the selected stories, children develop their narrative skills and phonological awareness, as they listen to stories and begin to understand the rhythm and sounds of language. These sessions also introduce letter knowledge and print motivation, sparking an interest in reading by making it an exciting, interactive activity. The inclusion of vocabularyrich stories broadens children's language and comprehension, preparing them for more advanced literacy tasks.
Meanwhile, the craft component enhances fine motor skills, as children manipulate various materials to create artwork, fostering creativity and hand-eye coordination. These group activities are a wonderful way to nurture social skills, as children interact with peers, share materials and participate in collaborative tasks that will help build confidence and communication in a supportive environment.

Poor etiquette and/or cheating can disqualify you from future league events at the discretion of the professionals at Red Hawk Ridge.
Due to the popularity of the Junior Golf Leagues, and to give everyone a fair chance to participate, we will be holding a lottery for all spots. Lottery registration will be available online beginning April 15 and continue through May 4. Those selected will be notified via email May 5. Payment must be received by May 19 or your spot will be offered to the next available person. We will hold separate drawings for each league, so be sure to register for the appropriate league. JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY
The Red Hawk Junior Golf Academy is a great program for golfers to learn from the PGA professionals at Red Hawk Ridge. Your child qualifies for this program if they are between the ages of 6 and 16. Classes are limited to five students per instructor with a maximum of 20 participants per class.
There will not be a lottery for this program. Participants can register online for a spot in the academy on a first-come, first-served basis. Register online at RedHawkRidge.com. Registration will be available online beginning April 15. If you have any questions, please contact the Junior Coordinator at 720-733-3500.

ROOKIES (AGES 6 TO 9)
SNAG
Red Hawk Ridge has added the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) program to its curriculum for juniors in the Rookie age division. SNAG is a new and fun way to introduce kids to golf. SNAG contains all the elements of golf, but uses modified equipment (i.e. tennis balls, velcro targets and lightweight clubs with large club heads). SNAG incorporates specialized teaching methods to deliver results at a higher success rate than students get out of hitting real balls with real clubs. We provide all of the equipment for SNAG, so please do not bring clubs from home. This class is recommended for juniors who have no prior golf experience and would prefer a fun transition into golf rather than jumping right into this highly intricate game.
Important Note: All SNAG classes are held at Bison Park and NOT at Red Hawk Ridge.
